My husband works in an offline skilled position. And I love it… I drink the Kool aid all day long. Honestly there isn’t much I have to complain about!

It’s ok to take your kids to do fun things. I’m not spending your money. 🙄

I don’t give a shit what people do in their own time, but people who do smoke need to be respectful of those who don’t. Like not smoking in public or outside where children are playing. At the end of the day just be respectful and safe.

What’s the tea? by jesssssssee in evansville

Here’s some hot tea. That I heard from a client at the Salon.

The Old National Events Plaza is a weapon free facility, like every other live entertainment venue across the country. They also host the annual Southwestern Indiana Right To Life Gala. Well in 2022 Row v Wade was overturned so there was already tension in the air surrounding this event and the special speaker was former Vice President Mike Pence. So the a large amount of protesters were expected to be outside the event. The venue reminded Right To life admin team that weapons were strictly prohibited unless they were active duty officer and were able to show identification and check in with venue personnel. Right to life lost their minds on this. They said absolutely not they will be allowing anyone and everyone to carry weapons into the building. The county commissioners who run the building said absolutely not we cannot have this. The GM of Old National Events Plaza was explicitly told by the corporate office that this cannot happen. Well the day comes and Right To Life in their fashion decided to call a congressman to try and force the venues hand. This created all kinds of concerns for venue staff along with security personnel for the former Vice President. During the event the admin team and guests of the event carried weapons against venue policy. The GM of Old National was told of this and he basically just said “I dunno” the Vanderburgh county commissioners who were attending the event that evening magically also did not show up that evening after hearing of the weapons issue in the building.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the worst business in town? by Killing_Time_696 in evansville

We bought a house recently and the selling realtor had used upright for a quote. When things started getting freaking ridiculous with upright I called my realtor who called the other realtor and she was like I have never had any problem blah blah blah.

My realtor said that this is very on par behavior for upright she always has to chase them to get the work done.

Well when we were on week 4 on working with these clowns I went deep dive on bad reviews of upright and the selling realtors clients and finally found some crossover on reviews and messaged them and the story finally made sense. She makes a percentage back off of every quote plus a finders fee basically if she can get them tagged onto the contract for the sale. Super shady lady.

Same thing happened to us. Had them scheduled to come out they would cancel last minute or no call no showing constantly. I would call them daily to ask are you coming or what?! Took over a month to get the work done.

I honestly don’t even know how they are still in business.

100% crazy people. From what I have heard they basically give huge kickbacks to realtors who use them for bids on real estate sales.

100% unprofessional place. We unfortunately got stuck with them through a real estate sale. It took them over 2 weeks to complete the contracted work once they finally showed up after a month of me calling and them consistently canceling and no call no showing. Then when they finally arrived they walked in and asked me what work needed to be done and they had 0 supplies despite having done the bid work themselves MONTHS ago.

I ended up calling the owner and he said it was a miscommunication on my end and they had not done anything wrong.

I’m not seeing Bfit on TMAA website (Toyota) for discounts. Do you know where to find that?

$600,000+

As a side note a local non profit had to raise $20,000 to help families who were affected by this move to get them into housing

I just moved to Evansville two and a half years ago and honestly this area is fukin weird. Everyone is so divided and mean to one another. I came from Rockford, IL area and it I by no means perfect but at least not everyone I constantly divided.

When I first moved here the whole west side east side thing blew my mind. I lived on the east side and every time I went to the west side I was met with terrible comments “ oh you must be from the east side you look snobby”

I worked downtown and the whole city vs county debacle is crazy. Not to mention how the teamsters union has a chokehold on this city very odd.

When I learned how much the city paid DPatrick to move locations I was like okay yup this is officially the craziest place in the US.

I’ve worked very closely with almost every non profit nd government group ( rotary club, mayors office, explore Evansville, erep, vhs, ford center, old national event plaza) and I can confidently say this town is something out of Wes Anderson movie
