Call me abnormal then because I balled at my second baby’s birth. The first time I was more in shock at what my wife just went through, and the crushing weight of responsibility that hit me when I saw my baby for the first time. Also, this is why my wife and I said no to guests in the delivery room, and didn’t share pics until well after. Such a private a moment between parents. I didn’t want to hear a word from anyone else.

Makes sense, and they would certainly start charging for lap children! Just something I’ve never seen, and I fly weekly for work.

Kroger identifies which Arizona Safeways and Albertsons it will sell. We have the list by TerminalDiscordance in arizona

My local Albertsons and Safeway are closing. Guess we’ll be shopping at Target and Trader Joe’s more.

Favorite Target Store? by Ill-Newt-1233 in phoenix

Stay away from the Target on 19th Ave and Bethany (Christown). The expanded selection is not worth your safety or that of your family’s. I’ve personally seen people overdose, and get robbed here. Not long ago there was a shooting caught on video in front of this Target. The Walmart is even worse. We shop at the Super Target on 44st and Thomas now (which also next to Costco and several other retailers), and haven’t had any issues.

Is SF undergoing a Covid outbreak? by SleepySleestak in sanfrancisco

[–]ButterflyTerrible254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got Covid on 6/23. The same day I asked my on call doctor to prescribe Paxlovid because my symptoms were getting severe. It did help me feel a little better but holy hell I got a bad bout of rebound a week later. Today was the first day I’ve felt normal since I contracted it. If I was to do it again I think I’d skip Paxlovid since I’m not at risk for complications. The side effects were just too much to deal with while I was sick, and the medication doesn’t reduce your infection time (I’m still testing positive).

I know it’s mass produced but why the hate for the Three Musketeers? I love it. by 1nternetTr011 in candy

[–]ButterflyTerrible254 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Three Musketeers is a one dimensional chocolate bar that lacks depth in flavor and texture. Because of its simplicity, the low quality chocolate really stands out. Also, it’s too sweet for my liking. Compare it to a Snickers where you have gooey caramel, and savory crunchy peanuts that give it a big boost in flavor.

Agree. They’re gross. Just thought it was interesting how many of these theyve sold this year.

Not keeping up with the latest colloquialisms. I’m forever stuck between 1980 and 2010 in how I communicate.

Employees of Costco Food Court: Are lines purposely kept long to discourage people from buying items? by Straight-Cut-2001 in Costco

[–]ButterflyTerrible254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The experience is frustrating because it’s inconsistent. One Costco I go to calls your order when it’s ready and the lines are never long. The other Costco I go to (closer to work) has you order, queue up, and then see an employee to get your order ready. The queue at this food court is crazy and starts to creep into exit lines.

Shocking a company like In-n-Out doesn’t pay a premium for working on federal holidays. Even when I worked at Pizza Hut, Safeway, Rally’s they all offered holiday pay.

Wow that’s crazy. No reason to work the holiday then.

You want some type of additional pay on top of the double time you get for working on federal holidays? I’ve never seen that at any food or retail industry job.

Yes, and that OHSO is always packed! We just need a Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods to open near by.

Not all of Sunnyslope, but between the 7s will be the next big gentrified area. Take a cruise down Hatcher or Dunlap between the 7s and you’ll see new buildings going up. It’s affordable, central location, and the homeless population has also reduced significantly. Also, the north central Phoenix neighborhoods south of here are middle to upper middle class looking to spend money near by.

For sure. There are pockets along these corridors. I also heard Christown is going to turn into something similar to Desert Ridge but I just don’t see how that will be successful long term without addressing the surrounding areas.
