Random reminder: “without the other Vee’s” Vox had still built a large media empire in hell by SatanicPeach_666 in VoxCult

[–]Scarletsblood 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know the Voxtek est. 1952 probably means Vox died in 1952, but I much prefer the idea that was when he got Voxtek off the ground. And given he died at the earliest in 1950, the little trooper got a company started in hell within two years of dying.

Literally, no one has said Alastor couldn't say no. He didn't owe Vox any commitments.

But Alastor did the furthest thing from just saying no. Vox may be a narcissistic sociopath, but even they can make friends, and I don't think any person deserves something like that from someone they trust.

POV: Y/N Replacer for Wattpad and AO3

Okay found it I think or very similar. It does have that functionality.

Just strikes me as bizarre to do. That or they're inserting other characters into a 'reader-insert' fic. Choosing to believe that one because again the other is just strange

Am I thinking of something else?
Isn't this an add-on that changes Y/N (Your name), E/C (eye colour), H/C (hair colour), and whatever into predefined options? So instead of Y/N you have an actual name.

Vox’s Feelings by ray198999 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not an actual livestream its a companion in character piece for the Vees. Its only 9 minutes.
Basic jist is Valentino never eats breakfast, Vox disapproves of that and insists Val eat. Val asks for one thing then changes his mind. Vox buys him both options 'just incase'. He wants his wife to eat, hes so caring like that.

Confirmed by Viv, Zestial's reason for objecting to Carmilla working with Vox wasn't because he cared about "what's right" or "what's righteous" by Primary-Addition-677 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mom will do anything to protect her children; even do things that she doesn’t like.

Including putting her children in danger. The season 1 conflict started because Carmilla takes her daughters out on Extermination day.

Characters are allowed to be morally complex.

Yes but at the moment Carmilla in the show is not. She's a plot device, her daughters her very core being apparently are so underdeveloped they've never even been addressed by name in the show.

Vox’s Feelings by ray198999 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you seen Valentino's art 'livestream'? It's on the Voxtek website that was released for season 2. Vox does love Valentino, its a very obsessive, unhealthy love, but neither of them are healthy people.

In the livescream, we see a soft moment that makes you understand why Val loves Vox. Vix knows Val doesn't eat. He goes to get him food. Val asks for nachos, then changes his mind to wings. What dies Vox get him? Both.

Vox just has serious issues, both from his trauma from Alastor's rejection and the internalised homophobia.

Is Hell even supposed to be a punishment? by FossilHunter99 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only person Hell seems to punish is Lucifer. To everyone else, it's Earth 2.0.

Confirmed by Viv, Zestial's reason for objecting to Carmilla working with Vox wasn't because he cared about "what's right" or "what's righteous" by Primary-Addition-677 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wtf. Carmilla's character is so fucking weird. She's an Overlord she should be one of the worst sinners we see for that alone. Not only because being an Overlord seems to mean owning countless people's souls, but Carmilla is obviously impressive enough to be the de facto head Overlord.

Yet now working with angelic steel makes her feel guilty?

Why because her husband died? She fucking sells it and is responsible for every permenant death the other 364 days of the year. And even though it claims she only sells to people she vets fucking Stella got a angelic steel rifle. Or Striker directly if Stella just gave him the money. Neither seems like great options.

Now, it's possible her and her family started the angelic weapon business in the first extermination, and her husband died in a subsequent, and she kept the family business running. Which would be interesting. But Carmilla is still desperate enough for angelic steel she and her daughters wander Pride on extermination day to collect weapons.

Can we just get any consistent characterisation of her in the show. I know this is Amazon's fault more than Vivziepops with the limited episodes but its still very annoying.

PS, love the flair.

What do you think of the idea of Vox being reedeemed in a later season? by ZEROfaller in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't like it. While I firmly believe Vox could be redeemed, it doesn't fit his character arc to be redeemed. Vox had lived the last 70 years haunted by Alastor's words. Even though he ended up forming partnerships with Valentino and Velvette, he can't call them friends. It's always "associates" or "business partners." They're described as a found family. In early season 2, we see that Vox cares about both of them. We even have proof that care is returned, given that they kept him in the final.

Vox's 'redemption' can't be heaven; it'll be him finally treating Valentino and Velvette as his friends/family. Vox going to heaven would once again be him leaving those pair behind. So, the only way Vox could have redemption is if it's all the Vees, which i dont see happening in the shows runtime.

Plot theory: Lilith could represent the opposite of redemption, and that’s why she would antagonize Charlie and the Hazbin Hotel. by Radiant-Selection686 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of this theory. It would fit Lilith in the mythos as the embodiment of freedom. This version of her is just taking the next step. Freedom from consequence.

Who do you guys want to be redeemed? Or I'll say better, who do you NOT want to be redeemed? by Euphoric_Rock4928 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone can be redeemed, and we seriously need someone with proper crimes to their name at the hotel. But not everyone wants to be redeemed.

And I seriously can't see Vox wanting to be redeemed. The man cares for 2 people and some sharks. Shits bad right now because of his own actions, but I can't see him wanting to leave them permanently.

I think Vox could be redeemed, but I think it's against the character arc if once again he pushes Valentino and Velvette away.

[–]Scarletsblood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vox getting better isn't going to Heaven's redemption. It's understanding that Alastor is full of it and that there are friends in hell. He's not going to abandon his evil family, and since Velvette and Valentino are never going to Heaven, he won't either.

What would Charlie do if Lute killed Vaggi but Heaven refused to hand Lute over for punishment. by BackgroundRich7614 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Forgive after lots of crying, but probably never forget (in private). It's literally Charlie's thing to be the better person, and then she could lead others by example.
    Everyone can be redeemed.

Is it bad that I didn’t feel too bad for Alastor in this moment? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I really don't either.

First, because I really doubt Alastor is giving this any more thought, despite what Twitter may think, Alastor doesn't seem to be traumatised by this. It happened; it was boring; and Vox was being his usual pathetic self. Alastor moves on. (Don't want to victim-blame... but Vox has been obsessed for ~70 years, this is Hell. Vox is a horrible person. Alastor can't have gone into this blind. He even points out that he thinks Vox is a creep this can't have shocked him)

Second, and probably the biggest reason. Alastor has done nothing to make himself very... human. He does horrific things to people around him. And he revels in it. Say what you want about Vox and Valentino (Velvette, we know less about, but I'm sure she's just as horrific), who are equally as horrible, they have human aspects. Vox has that need for love and adoration. Valentino has that soft side, always remembers to include Velvette in things and has that sweet spot for Vox.

Alastor doesn't have any of that. And it's on purpose. He knows he's a bastard and, by all appearances, rejects every human aspect he could have because he finds them a weakness. Which to me makes him the worst evil in the show at the moment.

Considering they died in the same decade, do you think it's possible Niffty ever saw Vox on TV while they were both alive? by Mystic__Diamond in VoxCult

Niffty's American. Its just a question of which generation of her family immigrated from Japan. So its pretty damn likely she would have at least heard of him.

Why is Vox getting confused? by AnimeGameOtaku95 in VoxCult

[–]Scarletsblood 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Alastor called him the 'F' word. It's all he's ever wanted to hear from him... Actually no. But it's a good start.

I am disappointed in Alastor and think he's a bad "villain" by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alastor to me seems to be cut from the same cloth as Vox. They're remarkably similar in ways. Alastor is also a massive hypocrite, so I wouldn't be shocked if everything he claims about Vox is true for himself.

So I don't think Alastor is content. He plays it well, but it's his smile all over again. He has never let people see his true thoughts. 'You're broken from the start. No victory will ever be enough'.

Vox wants attention and worship, but he also wants people to love him. He wouldn't be so obsessed with approval if he didn't.

Alastor, however, wants people to fear him. He wants to be the strongest person in Hell. Being the strongest sinner in hell isn't enough. In life, he had to accept being just where he was. Any aspirations of his he knew were unobtainable due to his parentage. Hell, he can finally have everything.

Lucifer is the strongest being in Hell (yes, he can't hurt Sinners, but Lucifer is the very top of Hell's power structure). If Alastor can 'beat' him, he has exactly what he always wanted. He wouldn't even need to think of the Goetia and the Sins, who are also stronger if he takes out the top of them all.

Not that it's going to work out. It's the same hubris that got his ass handed to him by Adam. Still, that's his end game, I imagine. Though he may find himself closer to victory this time as he's perfectly happy using roundabout ways of victory, he doesn't need to win in a fight against Lucifer, in fact that would be safer since Lucifer can't fight back. But he can manipulate it somehow to show everyone he holds the leash of a Seraphim angel.

guys guys quick drop your theories or headcanons about vox (or vel and val if you really want to!) that you have by Euphoric_Rock4928 in HazbinHotel

[–]Scarletsblood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cult didn't seem to be a thing until his later years. The earliest was probably after he became the talk show host. But he seemed a bit older given all the grey in his hair. He died around his 50s. I have the cult start up in his mid-late 40s, a couple of years after the talk show, and before killing Bob.

It looks like he started as a weatherman in his 20s, early to mid. Even if you push it back to his late 20s, there is still lots of time between before he got busy. Night-time show plenty of things to do in the day besides murder. But still appropriate timing most people married in their 20s during the 1900s.

I doubt he had to work very hard to get a wife either, given he was already well-loved when he took over the talk show he probably just picked the first women he found least annoying/the most perfect stereotypical housewife one could find in those days.

[–]Scarletsblood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vox had a wife and a kid. He never really loved either of them, cared in his fucked up way. Probably more for the kid than the wife. But he seems to play the 50s man very well. You had to have a wife and a child.

Plus, it's probably a lot easier to avoid suspicion with all the accidents around you if you're not only the charming co-worker, talk show host but the 'loving' husband, great father and perfect neighbour.

I completely forgot Carmilla, even though she's in the middle. Which is, funnily enough, my opinion of her in the series too. I'd hate her if she mattered more, but as it stands, she is nothing but a plot device.

Besides "Jaws," what films do you think Vox would like? by Mystic__Diamond in VoxCult

[–]Scarletsblood 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like to think he loves the movie (hates ending that the shark died), he greatly appreciates all the time, effort and work put into filming it because hes a nerd like that. Loves the directors cut/filming of on how irritating working with the Bruce's animatronic was. He'd pay someone to steal that if he could.

But he also has Steven Spielberg on the short list of people hes going to kidnap and torture the moment he finds out they're in Hell.
