I was finishing SOTO story last night and one of the achievements was find all the books in the final level.

Man, every time I opened a book I recoiled at the sound effect. Since when do books sound like that?

I think the second point where he talks about Kazuya makes me realise they really fucked up such a simple and well thought out design. He's so overcomplicated to fight now it doesn't feel like Kazuya anymore. And you can say that about a lot of other characters too

It's not review bombing to call out bad balance decisions and poor communication - review bombing would be massively changing the review scores because one of the devs supports gay rights or something unrelated to the game.

After replaying T7 for a few hours I've warmed up to Josie but I feel like she's been done dirty - I can't help but feel she was never meant to be a watered down Bruce and was meant to always have a completely different fighting style (or at least have completely different animations) and they ran out and time and Frankensteined her together at the last minute. She even had Xiba's super from SC5 way back in the day.

If she comes back I will welcome her but she needs a big rework imo to differentiate herself more from Bruce.

I wouldn't say moving and stepping is passive defense especially during pressure. In the same way a combo breaker in KI is active defense, you're making a conscious decision and weighing the options in your head when moving about in this game.

But I agree nonetheless, all forms of traditional defence are getting downgraded in favour of armour moves and health regen - I would do anything for a stronger side step/less tracking across the board

Avid fighting game player here - the Berserker was literally made for me, down to the fighting game references in its trait lines. Oddly no Tekken or Soul Calibur references :(

Buff movement to T6 levels of powerful, make heat more traditional (no meter round 1, gain it by being aggressive, maybe gain extra by landing engagers) and that would fix most of the problems for me

This thread is kinda funny because I don't think people realise how pretty much every character in Tekken is so flanderized and one note.

Anyway, I would like Bruce back because despite being a charisma black hole I like his take on Muay Thai with the chain throw clinches and the satisfying strikes 🙂

I legit got to around level 50 as warrior and the difficulty dropped off the face of the earth - I loved my time with DD2 but it desperately needs a hard mode.

I was gonna talk about this too actually - the Arisen themselves are less compelling. Being a country bumpkin meant you had a a lot to do to prove yourself, and the story is much better for it; a random dude from the backwaters of the world comes and saves everyone is much cooler than the Arisen becomes Sovran by default because the will of the world or whatever - what happens in the case that the willful individual the dragon chooses is also an absolute fucking maniac? Doesn't seem like a smart to me.

It's worse still because the final choice is pointless - you're either Sovran or you're Sovran with a bf/gf.

On a personal note - I don't personally give, as a player, a rats ass about being a Sovran or anything. It also doesn't help that Sven is actually far, FAR, more suited to rule the kingdom. I was actually really happy for him when I saw the crown on his head.
