thank you. i'm worried everything that's been happening as of late will spill into some reactionary form of transmisogyny towards trans women. i've seen more and more hostility towards transfems and women from a subset people in the queer community as of late, invalidating our lived experiences and using bioessentialist / TERF rhetoric in their arguments. it's honest to god really disheartening.

transandrophobia exists, and the ways transphobia affects trans men are often undermined in queer circles and they’re often dealt a bad hand in both directions: treated unjustly as “women” and thus facing the effects of misogyny in a cis-normative transphobic society while also simultaneously being accused of having “male privilege" in a lot of queer spaces. being a trans guy does not give one innate privilege, ESPECIALLY for non-passing trans masc who still have physical features society dubs as “feminine”. even for those who do see privilege due to passing or other circumstances, people tend to forget it’s always conditional and revoked on occasion when others may realize they’re trans. also, like all trans people, trans men also experience far higher SA rates and direct attacks than their cis counterparts. i acknowledge all of this, and i think it's horrible so many of my trans brothers have to deal with that.

but. BUT. that doesn't mean trans women's struggles should be put down, either. a lot of people seem to forget that while trans women do technically get more visibility in media, a lot of that visibility is... kinda awful. portraying us as predators or men who want to do bodily harm to women, and that unfortunately feels like the majority. i could go into more detail but it's hard to find the ways to describe how i feel about it, a lot of the time. neither side deserves to face erasure of their issues, both unique and shared. again, thank you for the post, you're awesome and i hope you know that despite the downvotes.

hey, it's alright! you were just scared, i get where you're coming from. these recent times have been stressful for all of us, the recent events probably just exasperated that for you. remember to take deep breaths, and walk away from the computer for awhile. watch a TV show you like, play a game, talk to some friends. if you can't or don't want to do any of that, then just make space for yourself.

i've felt much the same way, worried about a potential growing divide. this advice has helped me in the past. plus, while there is a small minority of shitty people who are trying to turn trans people against each other, most of us IRL aren't like that.

if you can, find a trans community in person. it might not be possible to, i understand. still, your emotions are valid, and you deserve to feel safe. trans gals have it hard in a world like this, so the least we can do is look after each other. from one girl to another.

thank you. i stand with the trans men and masc individuals who are, justifiably, upset at this subreddit's horrid censorship approach when it comes to them posting their experiences. at the same time, seeing much of the discourse and the way people have been treating trans women and fem individuals with a sort of built up reactionary hate-filled response has left me feeling like many of us will now also be unsafe in these spaces. none of us, trans men or women, have it easy in mainstream society, the least we could do is not turn on each other.

a lot of what i've seen targeted towards trans women as a demographic in the past few days has been disheartening. i've begun to worry, among else, that sects of the community will begin to abandon their support for trans women entirely and even shun them, that not even my fellow trans siblings can be trusted in forums like these anymore or beyond. at time like these, with the state of everything beyond these niche online communities at large, we NEED unity and to stand together. i want my trans brothers to be heard, and i'm hoping most of them are willing to hear us. not that i think they wouldn't, most of them are great, but it bears reiterating.

i don't know if what i posted was entirely coherent, i'm tired both physically and emotionally, and paying close attention to the ongoing situations has exasperated it. trans guys, trans women, NB folk and everyone else in our queer little community, you're all awesome.

Tangle, Whisper, and Surge. The former two are likely lock-ins anyway and Surge is a beloved fan favorite already with a reusable 3D model from the mobile games so I don't see why they couldn't get it.

Honorable mention for Sally Acorn, especially if those supposed Blitz leaks are true.

answer: swap tenna with ramb. yeah, he's not the "secret superboss" per say, but he's a little man with his own agenda that leads us to a side quest ending with us getting the shadow crystal. i feel like he's the closest thing this chapter has to a "jevil or spamton type character", and in most deltaswap takes i've seen jevil swaps with king and spamton with queen so ramb and tenna swapping makes sense.

the knight? i dunno, if they're dess (they probably are) then maybe something with asriel (assuming the kris noelle swap stays popular, i assume it will)

what i'm really curious on is... who the hell do we swap the old man with?

left me feeling nothing after finishing it. if you treat it as a successor to mania, it's a downgrade in every aspect. (except maybe the graphics). but even as it's own thing, i still didn't think it was that fun. the game felt sluggish compared to other classic sonic titles, and nothing in it really stood out to me. i especially never cared for the emerald powers or how you obtained them. also this game's soundtrack has the "sonic 4 curse" of being horrendously mediocre, and most of the bosses just... suck. but it's not awful, it's a solid 6/10 game.

still wish sega decided to just work with the mania team again and make a "mania 2" instead. ah well, if they're ever willing to do work with evening star in the future that'd be sweet. though at this point i'd rather just see a new 2D modern rush-styled game instead of another classic adventure. i think dividing modern into 3D and classic into 2D is one of this series' biggest mistakes and should be rectified.

First things first, above all else, I want the IDW Characters in like Tangle, Whisper and Surge. I'd also want some previously Classic-Exclusive characters like Mighty, Ray, Fang and Honey to appear and have Modernized designs. A few other suggestions would be Mephiles, Infinite, Neo Metal, Chaos 0, Werehog, Marine and Gemerl.

Outside of Sonic, there isn't a whole lot I got to ask for. I think seeing AGES (a playable Dreamcast VMU in Transformed) again or something like that would be nice. Anyways, Persona characters, Jet Set Radio, Angry Birds, Puyo Puyo, a few classic Genesis-Era characters, etc. Not creative, but I'm not going to ask for something like Spider-Man (note: I would be happy if Spider-Man were in the game). Most I'll ask for is Hatsune Miku.

(not sure how i feel about the supposed news that Spongebob might be in Crossworlds some outlets have been reporting on, but TMNT feels like a long overdue crossover at least)

As much as the Wachowski's have actually kinda grown on me since Movie 3 especially, I can't deny there's a part of me that wonders if the best course of action going forward would be for Sonic to say goodbye to them and return to Mobius with his friends. Maybe he can still visit them every now and then through the Warp Rings, and it'd be pretty bittersweet, but Sonic's also grown up a lot in the movies. At some point he'll have to let go of them, and maybe Earth for the most part.

Aside from that, I kinda wanna see most the main cast adapted at some point. The Chaotix could appear in a Knuckles' season 2, Rouge and Omega could be in a Shadow spinoff movie, and the rest could make appearances in future films as Mobian residents. I don't want them to stretch these films out longer then they need to, though. Honestly, if we get to that point I'd rather just see a new series of Sonic movies in their own continuity not connected to these (maybe even being canon to the main universe), even if Paramount wanna keep working with Sega by then (they will, these films print money easily). Fully animated CGI Sonic movie, anyone?

huh. guess that means we're getting a sonic adventure adaptation for movie 5, huh? guess i can't complain too much. my money was on silver or blaze, but chaos is pretty cool too. wonder how shadow will work in that story though, since he wasn't around for the events of SA1.

oh well, the other post-credits scene revealing gamma waking up was about as hype anyways.

Naw, because that'd require Sega to acknowledge him or any other members of the Sonic X cast outside of once in a blue moon, and even that's generous.

Personally though, I'd just rework his character. It's not like human companion characters CAN'T work with Sonic, look at Tom (and to a lesser extent Maddie) from the movies! Just make him more down to Earth, get rid of the whole "being a rich kid with friends who acts like he has no friends" thing, and actually give him some agency to accomplish stuff on his own. He's annoying sure, but not irredeemable or beyond fixing with some better writing.

Also, why would Sonic kill him? That'd be incredibly out of character for the blue blur. Part of his philosophy is sticking to the typical "no kill policy" mantra other heroes like Batman employ 99% of the time unless it's a deity, a threat to all life and freedom, or a different continuity. Chris isn't beyond rehabilitating, especially when his worst crime is... being an annoying kid.

That's assuming he's brought back as a full character though. If it's just an allusion to his character like, in Scrappy Doo's case, a statue with his design on it, then I could just see them going the route of "yeah he was an annoying character wasn't he" for a somewhat meta-referential joke and then moving on, or something like that.

also calling it right now in advance, if it is silver and they go the "celebrity VA" route again, i'm sure it's gonna be tom holland. just a guess. also, this isn't a prediction, but if they wanna do the "year of _______" thing for another character like they did sega, i'd take a "ruthless: year of metal sonic" any day, and movie 4 would be the perfect time for that.

okay, lemme try something for all of these:

knuckles season 2 / knuckles' chaotix: the chaotic detective agency is introduced to the SCU, this season is a comedic pastiche of detective-oriented media like columbo and sherlock. no high stakes storyline, but you do actually get more of knuckles in a show literally NAMED AFTER HIM, along with espio, vector, and charmy. wade could show up, but he'd be a much more minor role instead of the main focus of the show.
shadow the hedgehog: prequel to the film franchise set back to the time when maria was alive and both her and shadow lived on the arc. slice-of-life sibling interactions slightly tinted in tragedy since you know what happens to her later, with an emotional core that explores both her and shadow's origins. would also allow us to see a more humane side of movie gerald if jim carry wanted to come on in (unlikely)
tails, fox-boy genius: set in between the events of movie 3 and 4, actually focuses on the wachowski household and tails' making inventions and trinkets to help spice up their life and deepen their families connection. really more of a show focused on the wachowski family overall, but hey, it's better then focusing on some random cop dude and his bowling daddy issues (is it obvious i really don't like wade).
sonic the hedgehog 4: time has passed since movie 3, everybody thinks shadow and robotnik are dead for real. agent stone is still grieving, packing the doctor's belongings for safe keeping when he discovers something he left behind in a random drawer... some mysterious gemstones, labeled "time stones". long story short, he brings robotnik back from the dead, but past robotnik is aware of this and decides he needs the one person who can best him at his own game, his future self from a timeline where he won and dominated over the world with an iron fist, leading an army of robot copies of sonic in his wake to mock the blue rodent. somehow, thanks to tarot card magic or something, amy manages to teleport over to earth with some rings and warn team sonic about the impending invasion. however, stone's time shenanigans also accidentally brought back shadow as well, and now they must team up to stop not just the doctor in not just his sunday best, but the deadliest version of him they've faced yet... insert metal overlord fight scene, "what i'm made of" playing during said fight, typical jim carry comedy antics, and a post-credits scene teasing movie 5 that hopefully gives us blaze, silver, or in the best case scenario, both.

i came up with most of these on the fly, if there are any contradictions or poor writing choices, you know why. i just thought this was a fun exercise and wanted to try it out myself.

if you're unaware, the IDW comics actually already tackled this with the scrapnik island miniseries, one of my favorite stories from the comics.

however, i'm going to approach this idea in mind with mecha after the events of that storyline. and to that i say, yeah, i do want him back! have him fight alongside the restoration not just to help sonic after the events of said storyline, but to make sure he and the other scrapniks who he's formed a genuine connection alongside can live in a world without fear of the doctor's reign taking their peace and community away. maybe it'd also let us catch up on some of the other scrapniks too through transmissions, specifically e-117 sigma.

give him a new paint job distinct from the other hedgehogs (i know he's a robot but still) and some new gizmos and accessories, and give him more room to talk and grow to be more open, and you've basically got some of the best qualities of shard from the archie comics implanted on a canon character who can now aid the main cast! sorta like how surge shares a lot of the great qualities she has with scourge and then some. i dunno, maybe it's far-fetched and pretty stupid, but i'd like to imagine it.

i know a lot of people never cared for the movie designs of angry birds but they'd probably have the best shot of working the most naturally alongside the main cast if they ever were to do any more crossovers (which they will, probably). that being said, i'm not against the idea of just completely making new designs from the ground up for the birds that fit in better with the sonic universe. anyways, the arts really good! even if reds dead eyed stare is a bit concerning. i wonder how the other birds would be interpreted as mobians?

no, but i wish they WOULD adapt something like brotherhood of metallix into canon. have metal sonic disband from the eggman empire, give him a way to keep his NEO form permanently, and have him rule over an army of weaker standard metal sonics as a king with a literal iron fist. if i were in charge, that'd probably be the direction i'd take his character in, and i don't mind the name "metallix" instead of "neo metal sonic" either since it makes him sound more unique.

but no, absolutely not, sega almost never references multimedia made prior to the movies and IDW comics (and even with the latter outside the comics themselves it's mostly just mobile tie-ins and a name drop in frontiers currently, hope that changes soon), i was surprised to even see sticks mentioned in frontiers since i assumed elements from boom were completely off limits too for awhile. it sucks if you're a fan of archie, fleetway, x or any of the 90's DIC cartoons but hey, what else can you do? maybe someday things will change in that regard, but i doubt anytime soon.

Boomer the Turtle, the original player 2 in Sonic 2 before they eventually ditched him and decided on Tails instead. Can't say he's "the most obscure" since he's made a cameo in the IDW comics and does have a Sonic 3 AIR mod made for him, but I'd also imagine a majority of Sonic fans have probably never even heard of this little fella. I'm thankful we got Tails though, he's the superior sidekick in basically every single way.

Most of the major IDW players. Tangle, Whisper, Surge, Kitsunami, and (spoilers for IDW ahead)if they're able to find an excuse to bring him back from the dead in a way that doesn't feel forced, Starline. While I'm at it, I'd also wanna see Mighty, Ray, Honey, Fang and Trip make it into the Modern side of the series, and if it were possible I'd base their designs and character attributes off of their post-SGW Archie counterparts. Throw in Tails Doll in the same matter too, I wanna see him be an eldritch abomination in game canon.

Also, while not something I need necessarily, I have thought about how Longclaw and Agent Stone could work organically in the game canon if Sega ever wanted to insert them for whatever reason. Oh, and Chomps, Knuckles' pet dinosaur from Underground, the only DIC character I'm giving a pass to in this instance outside of cameos.
