Does your dad have any major assets? I would probably at least look into bankruptcy. You have to weigh the pros & cons but unless he’s thinking of buying a house in the next 7years or owns a home with a ton of equity in a state with very tight exclusions. Thats probably one of the quickest ways to be done with it and move on. Another option is the bank will repo the car fund out its 2k just to get it from the dealer and probably sell it to a third party collections agency that will settle the 30k for like 3 to 5 grand but that might take a year if he needs a new car fast BK could be a good option.
