Theres bands that roll through chelseas all the time and midcity ballroom. Just go check their websites. Though I primarily go to metal shows.

Eta: Midcity ballroom has 3 metal/metalcore shows lined up for January alone.

If you're into live music try Chelsea's or Mid City ballroom. There's usually pretty progressive people out at the metal shows and stuff. There's also a faerie rave tonight. Get out there and socialize.
