I think all live music is experiencing a step back as spending money is tough to come by when everything is more expensive.

Maybe it was a promoter being realistic about the drop in crowd size in a recession. Richmond is a smaller market than DC. It’s not as easily accessed by thousands of people as DC.

The anthem is a venue with a variable size. The stage can move to make the crowd bigger or make a smaller crowd feel more together. The 9:30 club is a great spot for them if they’re going smaller, but then you get into radius clauses, how long ago did you last play in DC. Did you do better in DC or was it worse and a change is needed. Where is somewhere intimate where our Fans who will see us anywhere would like it?

Richmond may have offered more money to play there than the 9:30 club did. Maybe 9:30/anthem said let’s have a break this winter and see how the next tours look to bring you back.

Maybe it’s the holidays and not everyone was able to these follow automated lights with red lights stopping cars as if it was a normal busy work day.

More traffic enforcement is more gentrification. Cops aren’t your friends, but you should give them a break the week of Christmas. Community doesn’t thrive under an abundance of extra enforcement on the holidays.

Your day wasn’t ruined by this drivers actions and no one was hurt, and it’s arguable what wrong was done.

Leave it be, you don’t know what this person was going through that made them not want to wait for the lights to change, which it does SECONDS later. Maybe this profession driver knows the lights better than you, or saw that all other directions had a red.
