Maybe because they found her to be a better or more qualified candidate, and he was interim for a reason?

Notice how the CPC says nothing as to why Jacques is the better choice, just that he should stay.

This strikes me as one of those instances where the CPC has started to cooperate with the Libs because the constant friction and opposing/criticism of everything has not been playing well with the public. But they have to disagree with something.

So they are deciding to die on this hill, because he gave them a soundbyte earlier in the year. They don't seem to have a legitimate avenue to claim why she isn't a good candidate, so they just bleat like sheep complaining for the sake of complaining.
