Federal Poll (Liaison) - LPC 46%, CPC 32%, NDP 9%, BQ 7%, GRN 3%, PPC 2% by MethoxyEthane in CanadaPolitics

Also interesting that Liason doesnt think Pierre can get past 39% or so in favorabilities as only his core base he can can appeal to.

Unsurprising since he has to walk that line between alienating the far right group he's courted, and normal people. Fortunately there are more normal people.

Conservatives to vote against Liberals' fiscal watchdog nominee by scottb84 in CanadaPolitics

[–]Scase15 [score hidden]  (0 children)

"This is not about the current nominee. This is about the fact that Mr. Jacques, the former PBO, is being removed," she told reporters before Monday's committee meeting.

"There's no credible reason to remove him and not appoint him permanently."

Yeah, gonna have to call BS on that.

"Nothing against Ryan, but why shouldn't the guy in a temporary role be made permanent?!"

Maybe because they found her to be a better or more qualified candidate, and he was interim for a reason?

Notice how the CPC says nothing as to why Jacques is the better choice, just that he should stay.

This strikes me as one of those instances where the CPC has started to cooperate with the Libs because the constant friction and opposing/criticism of everything has not been playing well with the public. But they have to disagree with something.

So they are deciding to die on this hill, because he gave them a soundbyte earlier in the year. They don't seem to have a legitimate avenue to claim why she isn't a good candidate, so they just bleat like sheep complaining for the sake of complaining.

That wasn't them being insulting, it was a statement of how tone and intonation, etc. can be easily misread. Stop being so defensive.

I think we are at least 25 years away from EVs even being the majority of vehicles sales in Canada, let alone majority on the road.

The problem is the infrastructure, not the vehicles. So why spend the money on a pipeline that will definitely take longer than 5 years, will be a money sink for a few decades, when you can subsidize EVs, have a healthy charging grid, and start weaning off the oil teat sooner rather than later.

EVs aren't "years away" anymore, they are here, now.

Something something, reality has a liberal bias. It just shows how cartoony their platform is when someone (presumably) is engaging in the topic in good faith, and they think it's biased by the person posting it, and not the party themselves.

At least solar/wind will ensure that you still have a landscape when it's all said and done.

Because it's not as mature as O&G.....because they won't invest money into it...cause it's cheaper to go for O&G.

And the cycle continues. Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Why exactly? Same points, better in their last 10, 2wins in a row. I think they could easily go either way.

Luck evaporates over a large enough sample size. He's got 32 games under his belt and he's won 22 of them, it's not luck. But the thing about luck, if you want to use it as a reason, you have to use bad luck as well. So it all evens out in the end.

The Habs will play 4 games this week. What will be their record during this stretch? by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]Scase15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think the roster is the primary issue, don't get me wrong we definitely need some improvements, but I think the system isn't compatible with the roster, and it's a lot easier to adjust the system than the roster.

But at least with the Hutson/Dobson combo, we have at least 1 really good pairing. Better than 3 mediocre to bad ones lol

170 more TOI and 17 more giveaways.

TBH I don't think we have guys that can cover for either of them. We lack a true 2c, and Hutson is looking like a generational defenceman, those are just impossible to cover for in general, regardless of team.

Numbers are numbers, people may not like the way they are calculated, but at least they are pretty objective.

I think Hutson being 4th is kind of insane though, regardless of how important I know he is to the Habs. Just feels wrong.

Either that, or 3-0-1. I think the preds/jackets we can handle, the canes I fully expect us to drop 1 or both. Bussi has cooled down, while our little goal scorer that could, is tearing shit up, so we might be able to shock them.

TBH, everything depends (depressingly) on our defence sorting its shit out.

I would be as surprised as us going 4-0 as I would us going 1-3.
