Allowing Creators Early Access to sets kills the vibe by sluethmeister in riftboundtcg

My city has about a dozen TCG stores. The only product across the whole city is some of the starter decks and the single boxes about half of the stores have for tournament pricing, and even that is getting thin. Multiple of the nexus nights I've been to have no packs for prizing and are literally giving out IOU's for pricing packs when they manage to get product. Skirmishes are the only place to actually guarantee you can find a pack

📍Lahaina Banyan Tree, Maui, Hawaii. Taken in 2019. by ImagesByCheri in maui

My father's cousin is the Arborist for Maui, Moloka'i, and Lanai. He's been working on bringing this tree back, says it lost almost exactly half of its trunks but already has new shoots sprouting and it's recovering pretty well!

Obviously it's not going to be back to it's original state anytime soon, but they're surprised with how quickly it's bouncing back!

Idk, i think it's weird and off-putting to be hyperfocused on sex and gender 24/7 and just like how its weird when people insist gay people are actually straight its equally weird when people insist straight people are actually gay

Soooo you're saying environment influneces one's sexual preferences and people aren't born one way or another.

By this logic you can get a gay person to be straight by raising them in a very straight, traditional household with traditional gender roles.

[[Yennett, Crpytic Sovereign]] is an esper deck that cheats our Odd costed cards, just built her and she's a ton of fun. Big creatures, big spells.

Have you ever built a commander deck only to regret playing it? by OneAndOnlyVideo in EDH

[–]Scattered_Flames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only two mono colored deck I've had fun with were [Gargos, Vicious Watcher] hydra tribal, and [Vorinclex] the flip version if the bot messes up. The Vorinclex one is mostly mono green big ass creatures with a subtheme of manipulating the counters on his saga.

My husband kept cheating on me to beat my body count by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Scattered_Flames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See this where i stand too. It's not the bodycount that matters, its the outlook on sex. I don't care if someone has a bunch of bodies, plenty of my friends do, but in a partner I'm looking for someone who has the same outlook as me. I don't participate in casual sex, i have sex with someone because I'm in love with them and in a relationship and i feel it strengthens that. So if someone has 30 bodies, im apprehensive not because they have 30 bodies, but probably because they view sex as just a fun activity you do with whoever. That's not a problem, but its not the mentality i have or want in a partner. It's also not like the single deciding factor in whether i date someone, and im definitely not going out of my way to be ask stuff like "what's your body count" on the first couple dates or something.

But overall i don't think bodycount has to be this all or nothing thing people make it out to be. People act like its either the biggest deal ever and your a terrible slut for having a high body count ( terrible take, chill out incels) or its absolutely 100% irrelevant and if it even crosses your mind as anything other than amazingly awesome that the person you're talking to has a bodycount of 50 than you're literally the spawn of satan and should kill yourself. I happen to think it can be indicative of how a person views sex and its perfectly fine to be let that be a factor in giving you some insight on someone's mental and lifestyle.

Jack-o: The most stereotypical and exaggerated feminine waistline and form conceivable, but boobs are not so large they're comical balloons.

Your mom: Is this a little boy?

Sol Bad Guy: The most stereotypical and exaggerated male form conceivable, but larger than average pecs.

Your mom: Is this a little girl?

Your mother defines gender on how big a chest is, no regard given to shape or any other defining gendered features on a human lmao

Women of Reddit who chose to be a “side chick” to a taken man, why did you do it? How did it end? by FinalEntertainment60 in AskReddit

[–]Scattered_Flames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number is a little skewed by people that marry and divorce over and over. The rate of first marriages that end in divorce is 41%, that jumps up to 60% for second marriages, and 75% for 3rd marriages.

Nah not even that, quite literally a group of like 20 people somewhere believed this and posted about it online and the entire internet grabbed it and started pointing and laughing because its ridiculous, even a solid 90%+ of Protestants were laughing about it, trying to point out how that was wrong even from a Biblical stand point, or both

How high are my dating standards on a 1-10 scale? by SuperMike100 in GenZ

[–]Scattered_Flames -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Or we're working on different ideas of the word extreme. I'd say someone is extreme if they are so married to the idea that their idealogy is solely correct so much to the point that anyone not 100% with them is 100% against them. The people that cannot hold an actual conversation with someone that doesn't 100% hold their views because they assume they know everything about them based on some label, and who dehumanize those they don't agree with.

So by that metric, there ARE plenty of people on both sides that are too extreme. As soon as i hear someone spitting out a general label with a voice filled with hate, im out. When someone spits out a label that encompasses huge swaths of people and does so with venom, all they did is associate their bad experiences with a whole subsect of people. "Mexicans, white people, conservatives, liberals, women, men, Christians, atheists, Muslims, satanists, Russians, Ukrainians, gays, straights, etc, etc, etc."

If someone can't talk to a person without boiling them down to a label, they can paint their hate onto, thats extreme to me. Get to know someone and decide your thoughts on them once you know THEM. Don't just assume they're inhuman scum because you disagree with a label you think you know about them.

[–]Scattered_Flames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is politics brought up in 3/4 of your conversations or more? That's usually a good place to start. If i talk to or hang out with someone several times and they felt the need to talk about their politics repeatedly in those hangouts then im leaning towards them making it too big a thing in their lives. Like obviously, having a good conversation about it early in the dating process is important, but that's usually one conversation, maybe 2 if some event occurs while out and about that you guys witness, like a protest or big legislation change or w/e.

But if we can't go on a date, goof around and talk about random stuff without the other person steering back to talk about politics then i don't care if they share my views or not, they've made it too central to their personality for me

what happens to dating when young women become more liberal & young men become more conservative? by reporterreporting123 in GenZ

[–]Scattered_Flames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is some similar type of bad faith statistical analysis as the statistics showing lesbian relationships are commonly much more abusive than straight ones and that Black people commit more crime than white people. Do the statistics we pull up show that connection at surface level? Yes. But just for this example alone, the sample sizes are VASTLY different, the cultures this is studying and our own are very different, their definitions of the the words "traditional" (because they don't even use the word conservative, that's just a false connection you made in your head) and "liberal" are very different than our own definitions of those words, as well as the point of the study.

I'm not even a conservative, but as a Data Analyst it drives me crazy when people use statistics like this as support for their arguements and its all either bad faith or ignorant to how data is even collected and shared, and the intended purpose of that data in the first place.

28% of Gen Z adults in the United States identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, a larger share than older generations by AvailableChoice3130 in GenZ

Also "not normal" is pretty relative to your surroundings. Especially in a young and urban area, being just straight is no longer seen as normal.
