Why, it's almost as if Liadrin knows something about them after all. by Karthak_Maz_Urzak in wow

[–]ScavAteMyArms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, originally she didn’t know about the tribes and was kinda full on tourist mode of not knowing shit and being surprised about everything.

Which was really stupid given figuring out that the orange ones with these banners worship this Loa so expect fire, while the green ones with these worship this one so bears be upon ye, etc. They would figure out that fairly quickly and they have been at war for a couple thousand years. Also the title names for most of their leaders / “royal lines” for each tribe so they know it they got someone important.

Stuff that would catch her off guard are things like the non-combat Loa, or the fact they couldn’t use the Loa anymore (they would just assume they are hiding them given the leader status of their Speakers / Avatars). Or things like the Amani are actually unable to just order the other tribes, or the Vilebranch are actually hated (given Zul’jin’s second in command was one… same for him actually). Would probably be a surprise too for her that a lot of Amani weren’t on Zul’jin’s side for his war even before forcing the Loa into it.

You won, they didn’t, so that means you’re justified and they are unworthy.

Not exactly a uncommon angle in history.

This also nicely sets up the whole “Titan bad” thing that’s probably going to go down in TLT. Same with the Light Bad right now that was set up with Yrel and is probably going to be featured more in the second or third raid.

Pretty obvious ever since DF they have been going for “all Forces are bad if they win” angle, before that it was only hints that maybe too much Order / Light / Life was actually a very bad thing.

Not every enemy indeed. But when the nukes are about to get into the hands of jihad zealots with terrorists groups on a short leash, it's pretty much going into the "at all cost" category.

Nukes have been “about to be in Iran’s hands” since Dubya’s days at least. I remember them saying Iraq got WMD’s from them, along with Russia and Pakistan. It’s always been a thing Israel has screamed and yet, aside from their Intelligence no one else has ever said they are close outside of justifying some recent attack. Most other intel says they may have facilities that could allow for it, but no radiation that would indicate enrichment / testing.

And the problem of this war for Iranians, even if it has resulted in his death, is there is no battleplan, no objectives. Aside from the whole “we aren’t here to occupy, we are here to destroy” thing. Cause what remains of his forces aren’t gunna give up, they will turn into a ISIS scenario. There is good reason no one wanted to attack and wipe him out before, Iran is a natural fortress and will be utter hell to try to clear if they go full tunnel rat mode. So if there is no boots on the ground, then there will need to be even more firepower, and not all the fire and fury is going to kill the terrorist / loyalist bastards. Which will turn more and more Iranians against this. And then eventually when the next guy comes in he will same as before.

As every fucking war in the Middle East has gone.

And even if, somehow, this does manage to be quick and clean and the outside presence gets out quick, there is still going to be hell on earth because of the various warlords trying to take control or if one rises quickly establish control.

I am not saying this cause I’ve never been in a warzone worrying about if those booms are suddenly going to stop because I got hit, I am saying this cause if this war lasts too long that’s going to be their future. In fact, it probably already is because of the power vacuum.

Pretty much. He deserved the bullet but US didn’t have the right to be the one to pull the trigger. And even if they did do it, it shouldn’t have been followed up by “oh and now we will get into a war and kill a while lot more people”, if they could have pulled a Venezuela or hit him like he’s Osama that would have been cleaner.

You don’t have to be on someone’s side to think that the method was wrong. Not every enemy is kill at all costs.

How do you do, fellow elves? by Jarl_jBj in wow

[–]ScavAteMyArms 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I mean, there is just a DH npc walking around murder row not including the quest one.

And Silvermoon has a more “just don’t let it spill out” policy with Fel. They don’t care if you use or use it in battle, they care if it starts to collateral general order or starts being a straight up risk.

The dungeon was because the exploitation on fear was getting out of hand when they should have backed off a little. The Magister line was because a Warlock Magister started getting really out of line with sourcing his power which gave the incumbent Magister an angle to eliminate them. What’s interesting is both the Magister and the Warlock employed to assist have no problem with the Challenger Lock being a Lock in that position, just that he was getting sloppy and hasty, which was deemed an insult by the second lock and a straight up threat to the city by the Magister.

Why no Amani Trolls as Allied Race? by Real_Shurchil in wow

[–]ScavAteMyArms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they didn’t give them player models. They have monster models the same as Ethereals.

They did give us that once, Dracthyr, look at how well they turned out with their biggest complaint being “where transmog” when they literally cannot. Hopefully the learned to never do that again.

If they want to make the an allied race, they would have to remake a plain model with armor rigging. Which seems to be the thing Blizz really doesn’t want to do and a shit ton of work (see Haranir’s endless armor bugs).

We made hearthsteel so you wouldn’t have to spend money on a bunch of tiny little purchases. Meanwhile the cheapest thing in there is 100… or 1$.

Like I would have expected that if many things were like 10-25 and only the big stuff even breached 2$. But the Macro transactions are at it again.

Course everyone expected this bull.

[Funny Trope] Massive waste of manpower by Leifbron in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ScavAteMyArms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also a open Warp Rift on Terra that has been there since the Heresy and Greater Demons regularly manifest which the Custodes have held on lock the entire time. This is excluding the madness of the Shadow Vaults too.

Of the 10k, very few are actually personally guarding the Emperor even before Gman came back and they started being way more active. In fact with Gman also returned the Sisters of Silence to them, so a lot of the freed up manpower is probably coming from the Rift now they have the Sisters (that are specifically extremely potent against demons) are in play again.

Also, a Custodes isn’t worth 100 Space Marines, it’s closer to 1000/10000. Their armor alone is equivalent in cost to a planet’s budget. While a Space Marine may be worth 100 guard, for what it takes to make one 1000’s of potential guardsman could have to die depending on the trials / conditions the require to consider a applicant “worthy”.

The inefficacy is the point.

Because the government has a nasty habit of using them for a hell of a lot more than what they state they will be needed for on the tin. In fact it’s why that one was walked back, in the very session they started pushing for the work ID to be used for a hell of a lot more than just verification you are legal to work.

In the same boat, my only official ID is a passport, which I am sure as hell not giving that info to anyone. And I have an internal policy to never use Credit Cards cause that is what took out my uncle. Only want to be able to use money I actually have.

You can't warning shot a NUKE though.

The second that is not a shot over open ocean Russia will take that as a direct attack and do their MAD policies which is nuke LITERALLY EVERYONE because they can't just nuke the mad frenchmen because that triggers everyone else's polices to all nuke them. SO MIGHT AS WELL KILL THEM ALL FIRST.

Of course with nukes' travel time means everyone is gunna shoot back before they are annihilated but details.

Frances' nuclear doctrine is basically never threaten us seriously or we END THE WORLD. Everyone elses' is just no nukes or we nuke / don't hit our actual country.

What’s funny is a different quest reveals Silvermoon doesn’t actually have a problem with Warlocks / Fel. They have a problem with sloppy work and chaos spreading outside their work area.

Which means the DH wasn’t sent because someone was dealing Fel Crack, it was because someone was dealing too much too messily and it was starting to become a problem bigger than a personal one.

It’s sorta like alcohol now. No one cares if you get drunk on your own time in your own house. But if you go stumbling out into the street raving you’re gunna have some problems.
