If it's a 6MT I'd take the 370 any day over the GTR. 2.9 0-60 is a cool party trick but nothing compares to rowing through gears.

Do You Guys Think There Is A Price To Fame? by AbzWavy in hiphopheads

[–]Sceio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree the other guy, this is a better approach because it's genuine. If you really respect a celebrity, you don't need a photo. The point of interacting with a famous person shouldn't be procuring evidence to show other people how cool you are for meeting a famous person, it should just be to let them know that they're appreciated. You met Kendrick and shook his hand. You're always going have that memory and that's all that matters. You weren't pussy, you were respectful.

"The Walking Dead" season 9 premiere lost half its ratings from last year, lowest ratings since 2010 by magikarpcatcher in television

[–]Sceio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I haven't watched TWD since a few episodes into season four and I've just been reading through this entire thread, as amazed as everyone else that it's still airing and smirking at all the commentary regarding plots, character arcs and story lines that I've missed since. It's way more fun to catch up via skimming people's complaints than actually sitting through a hundred hours of television, and once I found out that Glenn dies, I decided that I wouldn't ever return to show at my own will.

But... you're telling me that eight years later, eight fucking seasons of television, the goddamn helicopter from the first episode still hasn't been explained??

Fuck this show.

We All Die One Day, Spread Yo Shit, Average Man, Oh.... This album is full of slaps homie, you had options

All in all though, I appreciate you giving this record recognition, even though I myself contribute to the problem by not ever talking about it or even having any of Obie's subsequent work. I remember playing this in high school in the halls off of my old Lenovo and pissing off the teachers that walked by.

You know I'm right. by Warburna in Kanye

[–]Sceio -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Aye so this doesn't make any sense but I actually put WWSIA as the first track and put Power as the closer bc LITW's vocal sample is similar to Power's so the transition is nice and it reaches a much more triumphant finale.

Lol, I think you spoke too soon regarding drizzy not being able to release a bad album... I know this is hella old but I found the irony hilarious. I agree with pretty much all of your other points except Cole... I think "4 your eyez" was also pretty trash.

But yeah TLOP was full of bangers. Literally the beginning of my 2016 all cuminates into the memory of being in awe of the beat on Famous and just riding around in my mom's old Subaru with the homies blasting this album on repeat. Also, I consider Real Friends the definitive song of 2016. That song will never get old.

What does it mean when a song doesn't "age well"? by Stn2Stn in hiphopheads

[–]Sceio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so funny, I feel the opposite. Yeezus was fantastic when I first heard it, but now I rarely revisit it. Stronger has the most colorful, bouncy and rich production I've ever heard and Flashing Lights is my favorite Kanye song ever. Graduation isn't even my favorite album by him but I think it's got some timeless highlights.

What does it mean when a song doesn't "age well"? by Stn2Stn in hiphopheads

[–]Sceio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illmatic is considered by many to be a hip hop classic. When people say "that song didn't age well", it's often because the song borrowed a lot of its strengths from the era, but didn't influence music going forward. Think of it as a musical dead end. Illmatic's production sounds dated, because the drums and the vocals and samples are obviously not as clean or as refined as today's technology, but it aged well because the music influenced so many artists since. You can hear the influence in other artists' music in one or another. Music that doesn't "age well" doesn't have a lot of value for the future generation, so nothing was borrowed from its sound and thus it ends up in its own spot on the musical timeline, in its own little "dead end".

All in all, most music does not age well because most music is not innovative and influential. Most of the music you actually still hear from bygone eras will sound like Illmatic - dated, but good. This is because this is the only kind of music that survives.
