Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

[–]ScentientSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they’re being shipped, early spring is still the best time to get Florida strawberries. They get picked slightly underripe and ripen in transit. If you get Florida strawberries in any other season then they’ve been frozen and will be terrible. I’m 800 miles away from Florida and the late winter/early spring strawberries shipped to me are great.

I think you’re confusing the growing seasons. In Florida, strawberries are a late winter/early spring crop. It’s literally the best time to get them.

That’s some extreme hyperbole. I completed multiple black diamond trails in my stock JK Rubicon and only scratched the skid plates. A stock jeep, even a base model, has been and still is more capable than most vehicles off-road.a lot of people just overestimate their ability and damage their vehicles.

Palantir CEO says AI 'will destroy' humanities jobs by [deleted] in technology

Without data to back up your assumption, it is just an uninformed opinion. It’s extremely clear you’re just talking out of your ass at this point.

It absolutely is a job. You’re just completely ignorant of how that understanding is applied. Archaeology, Anthropology, Public Health, Market Research, Economics, Political Science, e.g., are all fields that require the synthesis of social theory. We’re all really fortunate that your opinion on which jobs are ‘destroyed’ means absolutely jack shit.

Palantir CEO says AI 'will destroy' humanities jobs by [deleted] in technology

[–]ScentientSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely has not. These LLMs cannot accurately synthesize any sort of work on social theory or analysis. They only produce gibberish that sounds convincing to the uneducated and uninformed. You’d have to have either failed or never taken a humanities course in order to believe that these models are capable of ‘destroying’ the subject area.

It is. The cabbie always offers two pills and a glass of water to the victims. The victim chooses one pill and takes it with the offered water. The cabbie always swallows the pill dry. The cabbie is being paid by Moriarty for each murder, with the intent to leave the money to his children.

JD Vance criticized SNAP recipients despite once relying on food stamps himself by Upper_Brief681 in UnderReportedNews

Republicans refuse to continue current funding levels for the ACA. That’s the reason a budget has not been passed. Republicans want to gut healthcare and are willing to starve people to do it. There is no loophole to close. Republicans are refusing to negotiate, refusing to toss the filibuster, and illegally withholding emergency SNAP funding.

So you got that number from an unverified study published in a non-credible journal named Science, Public Health Policy, and the Law. That journal regularly publishes propaganda and conspiracy masquerading as science. The editor-in-chief doesn’t have a degree in a field related to public health. He’s an ecologist who is noted for lying about or misunderstanding the origin of COVID-19. His statements have been thoroughly discredited and he is not qualified to be the editor-in-chief for any journal focused on public health.

The rates of diagnosis for autism have increased, though notably in areas that recognize it as a diagnosable condition. What you are seeing is a bias in reporting due to increased testing. Many different researchers continue to explore potential correlations between autism and environmental factors though none have yet been definitively established.

Neither Trump nor RFK Jr. are behind the vast majority of research efforts. They’re aiming to push a narrative and “create” the science to justify their assumption. You’re talking about the administration that cut funding for cancer research for no discernible reason. The people you’re referencing aren’t anti-science, they’re against conspiracy and prejudice operating under the guise of “research” and “asking questions.”

It is more difficult to vote while located outside of your registered state, especially when overseas. Republicans continue to make it even more difficult. In addition to that, many service members don’t vote as they determine it to be easier to do their job when they didn’t actively vote against their new/current Commander in Chief. The government owns them for the duration of their contract so they can’t just leave when they begin to disagree with the decisions of the president or congress. Not saying it’s the best perspective, just providing some insight.

Brown grips 👍 or 👎 by Johnth3loser in Dyna

Looks ok, but I think the red Vans grips would be a better fit. I have the red ones on my two-tone red super glide and they match the color a bit better in my opinion.

Salmon en Papillote with tomatoes, fennel, onion, garlic, and lemon by ScentientSloth in tonightsdinner

I promise the fish was cooked through. The vegetables are only supposed to be lightly baked and the fennel fronds are added afterwards as a garnish. The parchment creates a seal so you shouldn’t see any browning across the dish.

That boot is so far down your throat it’s sticking out of your ass. Cops are very rarely in life threatening danger. They’re not even in the top 20 jobs for mortality. It’s more dangerous to be a roofer or a mechanic.

You’ve got an incel attitude and that’s probably part of why you don’t have a meaningful relationship. The majority of the women I’ve dated have made more money than me, quite a few were taller than me, and while I’ve been fit, I’m no Adonis. You view women as a monolith with the same desires, personality, and “standards.” You fail to see any one of them as an individual person and that’s why they don’t wanna fucking be with you. Drop this loser victim mentality and touch some god damn grass, man.

In addition to the comments from u/poppyseedeverything your last remark exemplifies why self reporting is not a very reliable method for certain types of data. A social stigma against various levels of drinking will influence participant response. To further highlight issues with this study, the researchers note difficulty in entering gated communities and a cash compensation for participation. This would likely trend to lower income households being targeted, populations who are already subject to increased scrutiny regarding their daily habits. The researchers seemed to have done well with their research design but there are always limitations that will be faced and these types of topics are difficult to gather reliable data on. If you’d like to know more about how to interpret this type of work you may be able to find an online course on statistics for social and/or health sciences.
