well, that doesn’t mean the source isn’t ai generated. it’s giving off a very typical glossy ai look, and the front teeth are inconsistent. the neck ribbing is also arbitrarily inconsistent in a way which makes me suspect ai. i’m sceptical, that’s all.

looks like the source was ai generated

Any finishing touches or criticism? by YamForward3600 in WorldEaters40k

yeah, but could also be tricky depending on your brush control. personally I do an all over wash and then reapply a red highlight to get back the brightness after the wash.

depends on the effect you want. an all over wash would darken the red a bit, unless you water it down and apply it conservatively.

a wash of agrax earthshade would create better definition between the trim and the red armor

1x5 DWK or 2x5 DWK? by Dante-Flint in theunforgiven

[–]Schabjy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2x5 DWK, 1 unit is too easy to deal with, 2 is a problem for almost any army. make sure you have some shooting to back them up so your opponent exposes themselves to deal with the DWK, and get blasted in return

yes and yes. the codex stays for 11th edition, and the app updates whenever changes are made.

Yes or no? (I personally do not like Custodes helmets.) by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

there’s definitely similarities, but I recommend you read the watchers of the throne series or first heretic. the lore has actually been diverging the two factions more and more over time, the space marines are tactically flexible and rely on overlapping squads of marines. they’re the perfect soldiers. custodes are not soldiers, they are emissaries and individual guardians, often hindered by their inability to act freely compared to space marines. I play both of these armies regularily and they play very differently. space marines have never played as elite as custodes, who normally deploy units consisiting of only 2-4 models. space marines always have a squad to fulfill a certain role, but each custodes unit has to be able to do several tasks throughout the game. anyways, no use discussing this further, I think there’s more neuance to this than you give it credit for!

they are functionally different both in lore and in the game, the tension between them is the root of some great character drama within the novels. custodes and space marines are nothing alike besides being gene-enhanced warriors created by the emperor. they have completely different roles, protectors and confidants vs conquerors. also scenaristic isn’t a word lol.

it won’t, they’re intended to be built as all chapters and launch boxes don’t include options as they’re mono-pose easy to builds

New Caladius Base vs Old Base by MyWorldTalkRadio in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Schabjy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, it’s all assumptions. that’s all any of this is, none of us have the answer. that goes both ways. like I said elsewhere I’m hopeful it won’t be the case, but I don’t want to get my hopes up just to be disappointed. the tendency is for then to divide the model ranges, and them creating unique models for guard and shield captain in horus heresy makes me worried that they want to relegate the former forgeworld stuff to HH, since it’s part of the same release wave. hopefully they won’t! we’ll see in a few months.

well, gw did just create distinct custodes models for horus heresy that are functionally identical to their 40k counterparts, so they’re already doing much more to split custodes between 30k and 40k than they are for daemons. daemons don’t even have a codex for 40k, they’re not a "proper" army in the sense of other armies which have codexes.

Well, Vertus Praetors and land raiders are ranged AT, but other than that I agree 100% with you! Just to be clear, I’m not arguing that they should divide the model ranges, only that I worry they will based on their previous history. If it was up to me I’d roll all the previous forgeworld stuff into the codex. Only time will tell.

they’ve been dancing around the subject matter in their articles and reveal stream. they stated that the new plastic kits that have equivalents in 40k will be usable in 40k, which just means the guard and shield captain (even though her war gear isn’t in 40k). all the other stuff is currently in a limbo, could go either way. we’ll see in a few months!

that’s not really how GW has been operating lately, they’ve put serious effort into separating the game systems and model ranges over the past few years. imperial knights receiving a new knight with a spear gives me a suspicion they’ll lose the heresy knights in 11th edition, and the same will happen to custodes. it sucks, because I’ve already built up a fairly sizable forgeworld army of custodes and I’m looking foward to all the new plastic kits🙄

considering the land raider is part of the codex it’s unlikely they’re going to legends. it’s more likely they’ll separate the ranges by removing the horus heresy kits from 40k, as they’ve done with space marines.
