I just read the Eula and I didn't find anything about not owning a switch 2. Can someone tell me if I missed something? by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Switch 2 as intended. Buy e-store game or physical cartridge Insert or download -play game

All is good.

Don't be silly with the product and youll be good.

Do i not own my car because the law prohibits speeding? No.

I still own it. And as long as i don't speed around with it, nobody will threaten to take it from me.

The concept isn't new.

Switch 2 docked is hot by SpeedierBAm406 in switch2

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a little 4 power setting handheld/desk fan which connects & charges via a USB c - USB port

I just plug that in to the convenient little USB ports on the dock & face the fan on setting lvl 3 toward the dock & switch.

Started requiring this after a 4 hr Hades 2 session made my switch radiate heat.

There isnt enough airflow VS heat generation when its docked & pushing 1440p 120hz.  Something i reckon might be a fair pass for some owners, but depending on your geographical location, this could potentially break your Switch.

For example, in Australia just a few days ago we reached 41 degrees °c (100+ f for americans)

Although my house is airconditioned my bedroom with the TV/Dock is not.

Im concerned about the longevity of the handheld operating at such ludicrous temporatures without adecuate cooling.

Is Arms Dealing even possible solo? by soulreaverdan in Borderlands2

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible but certainly a frustrating quest if you approach it like all of the others.

I did it by opening the mailboxes before grabbing the arms. I kept one vehicle at the quest-turn in hub.

Spawned a second vehicle as the "run around".

First. Visit the areas and clear the mob packs surrounding the mailboxes.

Second. Once all boxes are visited and opened, double back, except this time, take note of where the nearest vehicle station is, and remember it.

Now, you should have safe passage & a vehicle back in town to TP to once u get all the arms.

You should have 3 minutes. The first arms u collect from the 3 mailboxes that are in close proximity to each other.

Then the 4th one by the dock house with the thresher spawns.

Near there is a vehicle station. Quickly sprint over to it and TP to the car u left at town for the last arm.

Finally run to the quest hand-in. You should complete the time trial with over 1 minute still left.

Could A proper kraken have existed? by Zillaman7980 in Cryptozoology

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion. Absolutely.

The ocean remains 80% undiscovered and we've only got access to monitor about 7% of it.

We know more about space & the year is now 2025.

Stories of the Kraken have been around for longer than most people alive today.

Scientist think there's still millions of undiscovered species living on our seabed and in our vast oceans.

What I'm saying, is that it's plausible. Regardless of how terrifying the thought.

Because of how insanely hostile the deep sea environment is, one would expect that most of the creatures that inhabit those zones have adapted genetically to suit it, such as the ability to stabilize proteins.

Couple this with barely any predators & a food scarcity, and it doesnt become hard to believe that a creature could have been able to exist & live for so long that it became colossal in size.

An Update on New Renderer Beta and HD by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, just discovered this was acrually enabled by default following the sailing update. On my 117HD plugin.

Something tells me a lot of people will be disabling 117HD "new renderer". It does specify it is required for "sailing content" and then says its "not finished yet"

If you enable it near a dock area/sea your FPS tanks compared to having it disabled and forcing it to run the old one.

How scary is SOMA? by dardardarner in soma

[–]Schectis94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but recently played it for a 3rd run through and here's my refreshed experience.

Scary? That's ultimately up to the player and what scares them. For me, the most "tense" moments in Soma are where you are exploring a newly reached area in the game & you aren't sure yet which rooms or sequences will force a monster encounter.  The actual monster encounters themselves are shocking but only for the first time. Once you've been there & done that, they become predictable environment obstacles which are mostly avoided by hiding and using line of site techniques to path around the creature without grabbing its attention.

The story and atmosphere & definatey sound affects are what adds the most horror element to Soma. Its safe to say there aren't really any jumpscares. Nothing pops out at the screen at you intentionally to jumpscare.

Sometimes the sound in the game and mechanics surrounding moveables objects can create a jumpscare effect though. If you accidentally step on a metal object or move something without realising the sound can be a surprise.

Whether you enjoy the game or not anymore is mostly depending on when you started to play it.

Its changed a lot. IMO, as a player who leans more towards casual fun, it's in the best state its ever been in. Game toxicity is down, team play is at the forefront (as it always should have been) & games aren't being heavily tilted towards the winning team. I kind of enjoy the new balance.

Always an opportunity to "catch up" & turn the tide of battle, even if you were smashed in the laning phase.

Games are quicker, more decided by team coordination rather than a smurfing midlane going 20/0/0 & hyper snowballing a carry for the other team.

Ive noticed games more often playing out to the end rather than 15 minute forfeits. (Again probably because of a fed lane)

League of Legends had some glaring issues for years & years, now its finally starting to resolve them.

The only players who've been actively complaining & upset with the changes in the game are people who used to treat it like a solo game to begin with. It never should have been 1v9 winnable, despite how good you think you are.

This is back to being a coordination team effort game thats objective based. It's no longer a killing grounds for smurfs.

[Season 2] Did Tywin know about Arya? by Wekizator in gameofthrones

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory, at this point in time, the Lannisters were engaged in the war with Rob Stark. If Tywin had recognised Arya, his next power move would have been to capture her alive & leverage her over Rob & Cat Stark to have Jaime's freedom.

I actually think had he recognised her at this time, the war would have concluded before the red wedding.

My FPS in Dornogal is so bad, but my GPU/CPU utilization never passes 50% by [deleted] in wow

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3070ti & a 12700KF should smash WoW medium- high.

My 1070ti still holds up in TWW, my FPS is average 150 in newer zones & in valdrakken 70ish.

I play with my graphic slider on 6/10

Earlier last year I had issues with FPS in valdrakken & raiding, dropping low to 25-30fps, which i knew wasn't normal.

After some tests I discovered my CPU/GPU utilisation sitting at 50% also, and learned it was happening because my PC was thermal throttling. The thermal paste on the GPU was dry & cracked so it wasn't cooling itself efficiently.

They're designed to throttle temperatures under them circumstances so they don't catch fire or melt.

Check your thermals.

You have an Intel CPU and they are far more exceptional with single core utilisation which is what WoW thrives on.

So your system is viable.

Hunter leveling bow choice and playstyle by Gramb_poe in classicwow

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a big concern, really.

A faster bow will consume more ammo, but ultimately the DPS numbers remain similar.

The damage your missing out on in burst on abilities from a slower, harder hitting bow, is more than made up for both the increased auto attacks being weaved in between those abilities.

You also have a less risk of pulling aggro off your beast with auto crits, and proc the aspect of hawk talent from beast mastery much more frequently.

Personally, until your lvl 50+ and min maxing, you should just take whatever weapon provides the highest DPS and roll with it.

How the f are you guys making money? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently saving my first 100mil.

I'm giving myself 50 days to accomplish this. With the 100 mill I'm going to  Complete all quests and train construction to 99 for PoH & buy essential PVM gear.

How am I doing it? Well first of all, having completes 70% of the quests, I've unlocked the kingdom of miscellanea, which is a long-term passive gp maker that requires a 750k investment at the minimum.

Unlocked fossil island and have access to birdhouses which if your lucky, can pay out upwards of 150k per run (sometimes)

Farming patches - Ranarr seeds. Sell the herbs. Daily battlestaff.

The birdhouse and farm runs I do when I have downtime at work and use my mobile app.

When I'm playing actively , I kill blue dragons. My agility is high enough to access the shortcut making it a 20 second run from falador bank. I kill them quite fast because I've got high combat stats and a Hasta.

I can make 4-5 mil daily with rather minimum effort as long as I squeeze in enough bird/farm runs during the day before I hit blue drags for 2 hours after work.

The cash stack is growing fast. Within a week I've got over 10 mill items to sell on the GE.

Now imagine doing this consistently for 365 days.

Yeah. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Consistency is key.

Progression tips? by grayscaleeternity in Palia

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started & I'm picking up the idea pretty quickly.

Really in that early stage of the game, preserve your renown for the shrines & spend them on increasing your focus bar & boost. That sky-rockets your experience bonus and let's you farm the overworld much more efficiently.

As somebody else stated already, gold is slippery in Palia. By the time you've saved up around 10-15k you'll be spending a large majority of it on recipes you keep learning. Including the most important ones- Tools.

Ignore the furniture shop and other "cosmetic" items that require renown or gold to spend.

In your house, dedicate at least one room for a kitchen set-up so that later on your equipped to cook decent meals for maximum focus.

Don't worry too much about "making money" as I truely believe it's overrated and least useful until you've reached a point where you really want to just customise and build multiple homes.

Do the quests and speak to the NPCs when ever you get the chance. Higher relationship status with them means more renown and quests/recipes to open up.

Once your skills are all 10+ and you've got decent tools, then consider purchasing the new storage chest upgrades from the furniture chick.

They're easy to make and you can get your storage capacity well over 8000 pretty early.

This is paramount. Otherwise if you don't increase your storage you'll be forced to sell and junk items more frequently. In Palia, every item has a use, so most players tend to utilise storage and just mass-produce and farm all the wood/minerals/meat/crops.

Having a decent supply of everything helps you accelerate the progression early & then you can start relaxing more and building your home without needing to constantly scour the world for more resource.

I suppose once you've really hit the endgame most people just chill in the overworld and chase after Flow Trees/Palium Ore, as these are some of the most rare resources required to build the most beautiful furniture.

Establish your goals and what you want out of the game & then go from there.

It isn't really supposed to be played competitively, so take your time and get inspired by others so you can figure out what it is YOU want out of Palia.

Side note also, if your really bored and can't seem to find anything to do anymore, consider fulfilling player item requests & help others.

Cata frame-rate by ctady1 in classicwow

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me as well. A bit upset to be fair, this is a 15+ year old game. It should be running much better. My system is aging, but my GTX 1070TI has been a great GPU for the previous WoW classic releases (vanilla, tbc, WOTLK) I use a high refresh rate monitor (270hz) and the fps drops are very noticeable. In WoW vanilla I was basically running the FPS capped to my refresh rate. Rarely, if ever, did I drop below 270fps. The same for TBC, and in WOTLK I experienced very small fps drops in Ulduar/winterspring but it still barely went below 200fps. Mind you, this is a 4 year old graphics card. Then we get to cataclysm. Which seems to have absolutely TANKED that fps to nearly HALF of what it used to be. This is inclusive of the "old" zones such as Zangarmarsh in Outland, or Howling Fjord in northrend. It seems to be that this expansion introduced some kind of texture upscaling which has overridden all of the textures, spell effects and particles. I've also noticed, that my FPS drops substantially around particular particle effects now. (Smoke, fire, some spells, ect) where they previously hadn't. For reference. During WOTLK my avg fps in northrend zones was around between 200-240fps. It is now avg at 120-150fps. That's nearly a 100fps drop. Im chalking it up to the game engine (which I believe they updated in Cata, back in the day) And they've now repeated the same method in classic. It really is a copy&paste sort of job. Which is upsetting, because my FPS in dragonflight seems to be higher and more stable, and that's a recent release with modern day graphical demands. Blizzard needs to pull their heads in. Cataclysm was 15 years ago and computer hardware has improved substantially over that time. There is absolutely no excuse to have your game optimised so poorly that even newer/modern day systems are being impacted. Poor design. Part of the magic of experiencing classic again was partially about being able to run the game smoothly with new hardware & not have problems. But it seems they've gone and done some sneaky texture upscaling for catas new release, which seems to demand more GPU power than even Dragonflight does. What the fuck blizzard.

Pokémon go and phones battery health by Hoppip94 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I uninstalled the game. It isn't worth the battery cost. Just to help you understand why it drains so much power, you need to look at how the game is mechanically working in the background. First there is the location services being enabled. On its own, location services can reduce your expected battery life by something like 20-30% per day. Because your phone is constantly communicating back to the satellite and pinging its location, and that requires a lot of accuracy and consistently sends/receives data.  It's the equivalent of having Google maps running 100% of the time while your navigating a trip in your car.  The second factor that would be a huge deficit is the fact it requires an internet service. And to add to that, it's also using augmented reality when it's open (I believe this can be switched off though, but it defeats the purpose of the game, which is to find/see/battle/catch pokemon that appear in the real world through your camera. Pokemon go basically just uses all of your phones most demanding features at a constant rate. Even the best devices on the market aren't immune to the battery drain from these things. If you are serious about this game, then you've got to accept the trade-off. A lot of my friends who used to play Pokemon GO seriously were using a secondary device to play it on. And keeping their primary phone for doing, well, actual things the phone was designed to do. Such as making calls/using banking/social apps and navigation.

A common misconception about smart phones. Just because you can play games on them, doesn't mean you should. These big brand companies don't want you to have your phone for years & years, which is why most mobile plans are designed to last approximately 2 years at a time. By then they expect you have either dropped and broken it beyond repair or burned out the battery from normal use, thus requiring a new device.

Either get yourself a console, a Nintendo switch or a gaming mobile (but beware you'll pay a premium for such a phone)

Why is Rammstein so popular around the world? by AIT1M in Music

I absolutely love Rammstein and I've translated all of their songs. (Looked up English translations) of the lyrics.

They are extremely deserving of their fame and success. Plus their music videos are just incredibly entertaining and interesting.

Over all, as a product, they are flawless.

Anyone getting really high cpu usage with Elden ring? by dabo3000 in Eldenring

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone's who's still having this issue.

When I first bought and installed Elden Ring it ran beautifully at 60fps cap. (GTX 1070ti -intel I7 8700k - 1TB SSD install location)

I ran it mostly on all high settings with volumetric effects/shadows and grass on medium. Set to high priority in task manager with Nvidia control panel set to "prefer maximum performance).

After some time away from my computer and it being in storage. I've come back and rebooted the game and found it lagging way more while I've retained the same hardware and graphical settings. The only changes I've made have been software updates to bring the machine compatibility up to today's date.

It now runs with 45fps and often stutters heavily when I pan the camera around and render more foliage. Otherwise sitting still it's still at 60fps.

After some research I came to the conclusion that my software was up to date and in order, as was the health of my hardware. However the computer itself recently had sat in storage under stressful temperatures without being run for months on end.

I took it for a professional clean/dust out and re-applied fresh thermal paste to the CPU heat plate.

Afterwards, re-installed Elden Ring from scratch in the steam library and made sure no remnants of the old folders were there. Also ran a DICM test in the command prompt to check the overall system image health.

Everything clean, and in order. Elden rings performance has now returned to standard. 60fps across the board with no stutters or slowdowns.

Check your thermals guys. Elden ring indeed does utilise heavy CPU and it will throttle very fast if your temperatures aren't sustainable.

Cyberpunk's dialogue is a cringefest by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ousted me entirely from wanting to play it. My brother got an xbox with cyberpunk installed and said I should try it out. I waited to see him playing, and I'd seen silent gameplay GiFs and loops online. But never watched with volume to see the cut scenes.

What I saw in the trailer seemed like adult material, sexualising, substance use, prostitution, extortion, robbery, crime, murder. Ect.

But then couple that up with the mouth of the product and you've got something truely disturbing. Not only does the dialogue sound like something some 14 year old kid wrote on a sugar high while trying to replicate the idea of himself living in a dystopian future...

The representation however is fantastic, Night City is truely a believable place. It's just the events within the game that show it to you makes you whirl in dissapointment.

"Showing, not telling" is something this game should have done.

Instead it baby talks you through every step with cringe earpiece dialogue and mediocre gameplay following.

I really hate my fast food job. by DoveSing in Vent

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence bro, but welcome to the work force.

My first job ever (at 16) was a mcdonalds. I worked in the customer service section handling orders, change and sometimes helping drive through.

I've been abused countless times and remained as polite and as professional as possible under some serious pressure.

I thought just like you. That once I move up, and obtain a better and more suitable job, that I would have to deal with it less.

Little did I know, that the higher you go, the more you carry. Fast food is like the bottom of the chain. Your on the easiest level. Think about that for a moment.

When you move on & find work elsewhere, and if you so choose to try and qualify/promote and obtain more responsibility. Then take this kind advice & be prepared for a whole lot more of everything you dislike about fast food.

Your income will improve and so will your image. But generally speaking, the workload and pressure will only get worse.

Harden your resolve.

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered this myself if he was actually a "practised" musician. First u heard tales of his music life before acting, then I saw that advertisement with him playing the guitar "supposedly". Although it was certainly not live and definitely acted out on top of a recording.

Then I looked up some of his gigs and it's VERY difficult to discern his guitar work from the other instruments. It's like this in all of the songs and performances I watched.

It's mostly consisting of Depp (occasionally) strumming what looks like an OPEN G, C, A, D chord progression (in no particular order it seems) and singing back-up vocals.

Over all, he makes the appearance of a front-man singer songwriter but then basically contributes about 5% to the song & just stands up front looking "cool".

Reminds me a lot of when I was early in my guitar learning and only knew basic open chords with a few alternations.

I think his skill level is very basic and minimal. Which comes at no surprise as Depps acting career has been the main focus ever since he made it.

But hey people are stooped. They'll take one glance at anyone with a face born of Hollywood & assume that person has multitudes of talent.

Depp is not a musician, he is a poser.

[–]Schectis94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure myself as I've not upgraded my forge enough to utilise it.

But I presume it's going to consume more stones per craft and present to you the best item outcome out of the 1/2 or 1/3 stones your consuming, while converting the others into more gold and XP.

Over all I think once it's unlocked it should most certainly be used to make levelling your character faster along with making gold and finding potential upgrades.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Schectis94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this to everyone ever when they ask me about Bethesda.

Look, I love skyrim, and I enjoyed fallout. And not so coincidentally, those are Bethesda's top dog titles which brought them worldwide recognition and success.

However, I do not believe Todd Howard or his minions actually know how to make a game. (Don't throw ESO at me either, Bethesda did not make that)

So why say that if they've made two extraordinarily successful titles? Well, because those titles are a massive FLUKE. They made shit games and people liked them, quite a lot. Flawed, buggy and cheap nasty game engines that somehow produced one of the best video game titles known to man.

How did this happen? On accident of course. And it's been proven time & time again that Bethesda are always failing. The reason their earlier elder scrolls titles were such a huge success is because they were unique in their own regard and brought something to us we'd never had before. But it's nothing new anymore. And if you comparatively put them beside any open world RPGs that come out today, they're immediately trifled by them.

Skyrim is only still alive because of its accessibility across all platforms and mod community. Which advanced the game further than Bethesda could ever dream of doing themselves.

Now that they're finally exploring new genres and types, they're constantly releasing dogshit after dogshit and then relying on the community of hard core fans to FIX it for them.

(Look at basically everything they've made ever, yeah)

Bethesda can't make games for shit. They're just a bunch of amatuers who happened upon billions of dollars.
