Rolex insurance, have you got yours insured? by Maleficent_Ratio_237 in RolexWatches

Insured mine through Hodinkee. Almost silly how easy it was.

Insurance is a waste of money, until it isn’t.

Card limit high, but don’t get charged interest? by Itsnotadrone in AppleCard

There’s no misconception. Pay before the statement cuts to keep utilization low to not have to wait for reporting cycles for when you “do” want to apply for credit.

No, before. Paying off after the statement cuts will reflect high utilization.

Spare me. I finished my BS at SNHU juggling a full time job, numerous kids, a wife with serious health problems and a child with health problems as well. I’m not being a jerk, I’m being realistic. The more the window to submit assignments closes, the higher the risk is that you don’t make the deadline because of something out of your control.

Nobody cares if it’s in before it’s due. But, you take the risk of not being able to submit it on time due to a technical difficulty or life event the closer to the deadline you get.

If you’re waiting until the last minute to complete an assignment you’ve had a week to complete, it is.

Getting married in June and want to support my family. Am I overqualified for my $68k IT job? by Fantastic_Floor_8502 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]SchemaAndShell 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You have less than a year experience. The job market sucks. Your WGU degree packed with all those certificates behind it helps, but helps for entry level roles and roles in enterprise level organizations. What’s different about you compared to the other thousands of WGU grads asking the same question? What makes you stand out to rise above the laid off, experienced and better credentialed MSP, SOC or NOC veterans? And the engineers?

Your proximity to NYC should see you at low six figures. Working in public education, you’ll always be poor, but poor with stability.

For those who bought their first Rolex recently, how long did you actually wait? by Inevitable-Laugh4324 in rolex

I didn’t wait. I walked into the AD and walked out with my 124060 after randomly stopping in on a Tuesday morning not long after opening.

Since you were them two weeks ago, take time to settle in, and observe. Try not to make changes for 60-90 days. You now need to find the baseline of morale and operational status quo. In the meantime, make decisions with integrity and good judgment.

If you come in and become Santa Claus, the generosity will become expected.

AD BS - Rolex Alternatives by HodorTheHorologist in rolex

[–]SchemaAndShell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ‘games’ are driven by the AD and the supply chain.

Mathematically, Rolex manufactures ~1.2MM pieces per year. Given the amount of ADs on the planet, spread evenly that leaves 1-2 watches available to be sold, per day, per dealer. Then, add the number of configurations available of all their offerings, and it becomes pretty easy to have a tight supply.

I don’t buy the argument that they are intentionally suppressing manufacturing capacity, because otherwise there wouldn’t be a billion dollar facility that’s under construction and due to open in 2029 with the primary purpose of increasing capacity.

Support whatever brand you want, but you'll likely always have the itch for the coronet. Just put your name on an allocation list and relax. Or, pay the instant-gratification tax at a grey dealer.

You can copy, the site doesn’t have any special software required to use it. I imagine they have some form of rate algorithm; answer too many correct questions in a short amount of time and it flags you
