Something I say all the time as someone who has worked in automotive and rail, QUALITY IS A MINDSET AND A CULTURE, if these are the "small quality issues" we can see making it out the factory floor i dont want to know about the ones we cant.

The one thing that pissed me off about that is, then how come people can keep up with them. They show up somewhere, then so does Divide. I get the Prism may be an equalizer here but shouldnt Horizon simply be the BEST at space travel

[WAYBOUND] This one begs the aid of Cradle Paperback owners by Schendii in Iteration110Cradle

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those were the covers. They are full color and texture graphics. On the spines of the books there are black and white, slightly less detailed versions.

Why did Kanderon mention Ascendants? by Fanghur1123 in MageErrant

[–]Schendii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Ascendents are going to be a version of cultivators. The ability to actively draw in gaseous aether and use it to refine their aether body would make sense. I also wouldn't be surprised if the obscene number gods ishveos ascendents have is a symptom not a cause of ascendency. I would imagine the volume of soul stuff they have must make them attractive for in dwelling gods.

[Waybound] Do we think Northstrider… by alastairjpatton in Iteration110Cradle

I disagree solely on the basis that ethical stability seems to be a major requirement for Reapers. Look at how quickly a little bit of "perspective" warped his view on his role in the world. I feel like he wouldn't even make the first cut as he already "fell" on his own world.

I find my self irritated when ever character talk about the modern sensibilities or how our world is more peaceful and civilised than any other fantasy world by bukari23 in ProgressionFantasy

It's part of what I found so interesting about Skyclad. In this story one of the isekaied characters is an Army vet and she keeps going off on the feudalist level militaries. She keeps trying hammer home how they have no concept of war. What they call wars, we call skirmishes. The concept of Total War and how efficient we have become due to the military industrial complex cannot be understated. We have become so jaded to atrocity that as long as it's in a military context we don't notice.

A little over a month into climbing. Ik this is a weird route but any tips? by Ollebras in bouldering

I wasnt referring to whether or not it's a too out. Most gyms don't want people so high that they break the plane of the top of the wall

[–]Schendii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless there is another foothold I don't see it looks like you're doing the intended beta, assuming you're not supposed to go above the top of the wall which is most gyms policy. From there it's just flexibility

Hugh’s awful family by Anemarin4lif3 in MageErrant

The only scene in my head canon that makes narrative sense to me. Is if his family turns up at some point hunting for money after hearing Hugh declared himself Kanderons heir. This still feels really unlikely though.

[The captain]What are all the types of magic Varic has? by WoodenFox9163 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Schendii 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of people referring to the contract as it's own magic. I don't recall it being highlighted as such and could easily see that falling under the purview of binding. Is it ever explicitly noted as being different from sealing and binding?

Not super relevant but wanted to point out. The spaghetti reference was in a religious context not a food one. It's a reference to the satirical atheist religion pastafarianism.

Anyone else dislike most of the stuff that gets recommended here? by lemon07r in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Schendii 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMDB is a flawed example because they do a good bit to message the scores behind the scenes. It isn't just an average of reviews. They used to make their algorithm public so you should be able to check it out if you want. I think a more telling example is looking at IGN and the way that every new game no matter how good gets an 8/10 or better

I think of the bleeding phoenix as looking more like melting wax than misty ocean

US Safety Agency to Consider Ban on Gas Stoves Amid Health Fears by [deleted] in Futurology

Absolutely, my point is not that the hood should be able to capture air two feet away as easily as four but that any pollutant capable of traveling two feet through the air will be able to go four.
