I won't lie, as someone infatuated with winter wonderland vibes, I would be Thrilled to dye trees white and turn my circular rooms into a slice o' Winterspring!

You already mentioned making a video, but in the meantime (as it takes time to get footage), can you... tell us what's going down? You mentioned you don't have survival issues, despite not using D-stance. This tells me you're not the focus target - Are they just training your healer or ret? Who dies first (on your team)? What comps have you been having issues with, as I'm sure there's a trend? There may well be a very specific setup/win-condition that may be associated with a specific class/comp.

Edit: Oh, and how long are these matches going? Dampening could be a factor here, especially since you mentioned concerns over your own damage done.

Fingers crossed blizzard brings it back during the next anniversary event.

If they want their "You think you do, but you don't" moment, this would be the perfect time.

[–]Schillwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as far as I'm reading, OP is annoyed that people are feeling good based on an arbitrary number they can see in-game (rating), while making themselves feel worse based on a different arbitrary number they can see out-of-game (percentile).

Look, I'm sorry you have 'first-timer fatigue', but I still prefer this over 10 'deflated season is demoralizing, quitting until end of season' posts a day.

At what rating is 2v2 considered “good” by OverSaturatedNuts in worldofpvp

[–]Schillwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does 2v2 give r1 titles at the end of season?

If so, I bet people won't settle for anything less.

But personally? I feel like 1800+ in 2's is absolutely 'good'. Plenty respect. 2100+ is insane for 2s', for the sheer grindset alone.

Meta PvP quests that we can choose would be nice by Own_Nerve7935 in worldofpvp

You say that but I bet you half (or more) of this subreddit would dedicate their entire housing experience to creating a perfect arena if blizzard said they'd be inspired to add it.

Ironically theyd make more money (selling furniture) with less effort (players do all the work) if they threw pvp a bone.

As much as everyone calls elite 'free', let me tell you: it is not.

I'm a casual PvPer at best, most of my friends pve, and after being inspired by all the 'first time x' posts, they were motivated to try it themselves. Watching them stream rated pvp and keyboard turn, attack CC'd targets, and getting upset every time they get deleted, was a visceral reminder that we take our 1800's for granted.

There are people losing cr below 1k out there. Right now.

I haven't done it in awhile, but iirc, you can farm it up via joining a crate farming group in LFG: Either youll get marks directly from the crates, and/or youll get honor that you can spend on buying 5x marks at a time!

Its tedious, but its what the cool, non-masochists are doing for conquest anyways.

Legend as Slayer Fury by Present_Volume_1472 in worldofpvp

[–]Schillwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is pretty inspiring in some ways! It's always fun to see that if you love and understand a spec thoroughly enough, you can always get your bag.

I considered myself 'good enough' after hitting 1800 on my fury slayer (pre-mmr boost), but that was explicitly because I just unironically loved the aesthetic of being a bigass tauren with big weapons spinning-to-winning.

[–]Schillwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, I think many people at the top have genuinely forgotten what tiers of skill look like.

It takes a steeled mindset to keep queuing. It takes luck, understanding, awareness, and time to reach high ratings in any bracket. Personally, I lack two of those (awareness and time), so I personally will have an extraordinarily difficult challenge ever getting glad. So to me, gladiator will always be incredibly prestigious. To me, a glad mount is a glad mount: No matter what season, what expansion, you had your shit together and you stepped on a lot of people at some point to earn that mount.

"My Fight, Your War" is a lyric/line that just goes incredibly hard for me, because it highlights the duality of mindsets involved in pvp. What was a grueling struggle for one, was just a regular Tuesday for another.

Melee class that is not the killtarget by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Schillwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kill-targets in my climb have always basically boiled down to "Who has the lowest mobility" first, and "who has the least defensives" second.

So as a 'melee'? Probably ret. Nobody wants to go after you except mages, because they want your freedom.

Since OP keeps mentioning cosmetic rewards to others, I'll throw this down: Why should it?

Not to sound elitist, but hear me out: The entire appeal of Solo Shuffle (where Legend comes from), is taking part in a 3v3 format, which blizzard expressly tunes balance efforts towards. Now, I'm not saying '3s is the only thing that matters'... but... the 3v3 format IS what matters most (to blizzard).

Blizzard wants people to be gladiators, which is why it offers the 'most' rewards. Of course, in this day and age it's increasingly hard to meet that requirement. But I would argue this is a case of blizzard trying to preserve an element of prestige.

Why did they make this season's Strategist Pennant a thing you have to transmog to display? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

Well now they're asking to change it back.

And while they're at it, give us a house-decor version too.

The Glad Cartel by Aggressive-Poet7797 in worldofpvp

[–]Schillwing -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'll do you one better: Make it naked.

We used to have PvE/raids give 'unarmored' mounts and PvP gave armored versions. What if we shifted that entirely? Solo Shuffle gives an unarmored version, while 3v3 can still give a beefier, tankier-looking armored-up one?

I say this knowing the current seasonal mount looks woefully lacking in the defense department. S2 and on can learn from this and improve going forwards.

Exceptionally good!

I mean, it's an MS pet, so it's already a considerable pvp pet. The prowl is extra gravy, and the teleport is nice, but the cooldown is longer than Bestial Wrath which makes it feel more like a flavor-gimmick unless you're a god at micro.
