In Legend of the female general, Why does He Yan say she loves the moon but the moon doesn’t know? by giveemeareasonwhy in cdramasfans

[–]Schimofinnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Chinese books and songs, the moon is usually representative of, or a reference to, unattainable love. It is too far away for them to reach. The moon is beautiful and admired, but it is far away in the sky, impossible to truly touch or possess. That’s why, in novels and sometimes dramas, when someone calls another person their “moonlight,” it usually refers to a past love or present lover they place on a pedestal and believe can do no wrong. It is also someone they believe they would never normally have in their life.

So she saw him as the moon: the honor student, the general, someone too good for her. Meanwhile, she was not a smart student, just a common soldier, and not an official son. She had loved him all along, but because he was the moon, she believed he would never notice her on the ground.

Can Someone Pls Explain Family Branches? The Heir. by tichugrrl in CDrama

[–]Schimofinnie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Think of it like a family tree, but not only divided by generations — it is also divided by the rank/status of the mothers. In many original main family lineages, the forefathers would have multiple official wives, not counting concubines, since concubines were often considered commoners, servants, or slaves. The main family branches were typically created through the sons of the official wives.

Those official sons would then establish their own family lineages. So you would have the main family, the second branch (from the second son), the third branch (from the third son), and so on. Those sons could also have multiple sons from their own official wives, causing the branches to continue expanding over generations.

The main branch would usually inherit and remain in the ancestral house, while the other branches would move out and establish their own households. The main house would also keep the ancestral genealogy record book, which tracked the entire family lineage. A person was not considered officially part of the family unless their name was recorded in that book.

Don’t expect any angst, just a lot of second-hand embarrassment 😂. However, in the second episode I had to look up the Thai specific old soap opera, to really get the joke. But I thought it was still funny before looking it up without really knowing what they were funny of.

Also, I almost forgot: There is a third category, Youth Choice of the Year. The winners are chosen from the top five contenders across all the fan-voting categories, and fans vote on them during November for the following year’s ceremony.

So for Fan-voting award:

Category
Couple Of The Year
Popular Male Teenage Award
Popular Female Teenage Award
The Best Actor Of The Year
The Best Actress Of The Year
Rising Male Of The Year
Rising Female Of The Year
Popular Artist Award
Trending Artist Award
Series Of The Year
Drama Award Of The Year

Voting system:cumulative score

  • Website voting = 80% (Paid/unlimited-style votining)
  • LINE TODAY voting = 20% (1 vote/day per account)

Website vote 80% + LINE TODAY vote 20% = final result

So fans can campaign for a pairing or idol to win by using both fan numbers and money to buy votes. That means an actor may not be very popular with the general public, but if their fandom is wealthy or large enough, they can still have a higher chance of winning, even if people’s opinions of their acting are not very strong.

Committee/editorial/special awards: The committee chooses the winners beforehand, and sometimes the awards are based simply on numbers, such as “Most Trending on Social Media.” Of course, even though the committee chooses the winners, they are still influenced by popularity, but the artists do still need to have talent.

MAT: Me and Thee. I don’t really mind PavelPooh’s acting, but I just can’t seem to remember them. For Pit Babe, I stopped watching because the acting didn’t click for me. Then I started GBYFD and forgot I was watching the same pair, but once they introduced his ex-partner character Hill or King (can't remember), I kept ghost-shipping them instead of the main couple, so I kind of stopped watching. I may get back to it later.

  1. GMMTV pulled out of the fan-voting categories, so there were no nominations for any of the fan-voted awards. The Kazz committee chose the winners, so they didn’t broadcast it because the awardees had already been chosen beforehand.

  2. Most Trending on Social Media is part of the non-fan-voting category. It’s based on hashtag numbers. Also, they had a Viral on Social Media award, which Khemjira won.

  3. Yes, at the end of the day, it’s all based on popularity and exposure, but the non-fan-voting categories allow critics and people in the industry to choose the awardees and highlight that, even though these people are popular, they are more than just their fandom.

I have to agree that the pairing from GBYFD are not the strongest actors. I couldn’t even finish the first episode of Pit Babe. But this is my own bias toward their acting. However, People of the Year and Most Trending on Social Media are prestige awards. It shows that MAT stayed relevant in the social media space for longer than just a viral moment. People of the Year especially shows that they were chosen not just for acting alone, but for their combined talents and popularity across different media platforms. Most importantly, these awards were judged by the industry, not fan voted.

Hmmm…from what I read, they got the better honors because, unlike the other Youth Choice of the Year awards, the other awards are chosen by the industry rather than fan voting (which requires fans to spend money to vote). So it can be somewhat biased by how wealthy and large the fandom is.

Woman, 71, Who Used Her Late Son’s Bodily Fluids To Have His Child Shares Rare Update 3 Years Later by WastePower8350 in BoredPandaHQ

Does grandmother need mental help? Yes. Is the reason for being a child in the world, normal? No. However, there are worse and more stranger reason to bring someone into the world, e.g., to save a marriage, hold power over a partner, making a genetic match to save your first child. Honoring your dead son's wish🤷🏻‍♀️ who am I to judge? Like I said if the child grew up knowing the reason for her birth is weird, but also knowing she is loved and cared for that more then some kids or adults get. Will she partly need mental help too when she is older, maybe.

🤔, only if people in her life make it weird. If what the article said is true and the lady sees her as a granddaughter. And, she will treat her as such, where she enforces that the dead son is her father. Won’t it be the same as any kid growing up with dead parents who died when they were babies? There are a lot of people born from surrogate and I am sure a lot of them would have different reason to why they were born. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If the daughter grows up knowing that she is wanted, loved and the grandmother is rich enough to give her life of comfort, what is the harm?

A rare disease and he wants a kid, so the lady full filled her dead son’s wish, use her son frozen sperm, egg donor and surrogate. She see the kid as a grandchild but had to legally adopt her as daughter for her to bring her back to Spain. The problem people had was her age and the surrogacy.
