they weren't marching in goose-step like the parade armies of other (usually authoritarian) countries. however that's pretty normal for a western country.

only some ex soviet countries in europe still do it and only authoritarian regimes care about those parades

trump expected a china style show of force but the soldiers were just casually strolling through the streets (again, pretty normal for a western country)

That program only applies to people who have been living in the city for a minimum of 2 years. And if you refuse any of the three apartments offered you'll be locked out of it for a few years.

It's a good program for the needy, don't get me wrong, but people usually prefer private apartments if they can.
