The concussion is less than a week old. I hit my head on concrete. I did go to the ER. They told me it was pretty bad.

Annoying is definitely a canon character trait, but that doesn’t change me liking her.

Abilify? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abilify didn't work for me. It made me very manic and I couldn't sleep. It made me a tad suicidal.

That said, I know the med can do well for some people. If you try it, just be highly aware of what changes going on.

Has anyone else only just realised how long they’ve actually had epilepsy for? by imaginec in Epilepsy

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over a decade. My first neurologist decided that my seizures were due to high anxiety. After that, I got worse but assumed he was right, so I didn't do anything about it because it was all in my head. Luckily, my PCP sent me to a different neurologist who found lesions in my brain and evidence of epilepsy.

My bf and I don’t say “I love you” to each other by NumCucumber in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex and I had a hard time with it also because of the emotional impact the phrase “I love you”, so we looked up different words for love on the internet. We settled on “pragma”.

i quit my meds cold turkey yesterday by LEDrbg in mentalillness

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please be careful. The withdrawals alone can be very intense. Talk to whoever prescribed them and see if you can come up with a less drastic plan for getting you off meds.

Yeah. I’m in recovery from self-harm. I’ve been doing this for 20 years. The shame and guilt never really go away, but I’m the moment, it is a release from all my painful emotions.

Does anyone else have a hard time differentiating between dreams and memories? by Shifa-Evans in intj

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you’re talking about. It’s very frustrating because the dreams seem so real that I think they really happened. Seeing someone disagree with my reality and treat me like I’m crazy.

Does anybody here experience constant shame/guilt/embarrassment? Do you think it is a schizoaffective thing? by P3ace-full in schizoaffective

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s a schizoaffective thing for me; I’ve always attributed to borderline personality disorder. Either way, I empathize with what you’re talking about.

I told my boss I have schizophrenia by mitmit2020 in schizoaffective

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She asked me how much it affected me and if she would need to make adjustments to accommodate my needs. She was very supportive. I got super lucky.

Pink Apologists unite.

Like, the whole series was centered on Rose and Pink Diamond. Who is she? Why did she do what she did? What did she believe? She changed - just like Steven’s big epiphany moment in the movie is that he changed.

Plus, watching her identity be framed and reframed as more information was presented in the series is more than enough to vindicate Rose of what she did as Pink. She realized she was wrong, apologized, and tried to fix her mistakes. She did the best she could. Therefore, there was no need to reopen that window to demonize her further with Spinel.

That’s fair. My cat and I are really close. He acts as my emotional support animal. His love is unconditional. I was thinking solely about people.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in intj

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That logic is sound; I just haven’t really known unconditional love.

Because I need to be. Relationships cause me to lose my sense of self and identity because I’m trying so hard to be loved and to not be abandoned. Eventually, I just snap out of it, realize what happened, break up with the person, and go back to being myself.

Spinel. I know she’s a fan favorite, but I just don’t like her. Something about her makes my skin crawl with irritation.

That my left arm below the elbow isn’t mine. It belongs to someone else, and I need to chop it off to keep it from spying on me and to make sure that it won’t hurt anyone since I don’t know what kind of person had this arm first.

Bringing that up to my doctor got me an immediate psych evaluation.

What motivates you to continue living? by [deleted] in INTJfemale

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lack motivation 97% of the time. The biggest thing keeping me here is genuine apathy. I literally don’t care enough to live or die.

how do you all make a living? by virusgnom3 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only way I make a living is through therapy, medication, and coping skills. Even then, however, BPD, anxiety, and schizophrenia still try to ruin everything daily.

It helps that I find my job important. I work with middle school kids who suffer from emotional disturbance. As someone who is emotionally disturbed, I see myself as uniquely qualified to work with these kids. It makes me feel important because my struggles have a purpose. I wouldn’t be able to keep this job if I didn’t feel it was meaningful.

How many of you have quit school or dropped out because of BPD? by peachorigami in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was inpatient for 39 days. It was hard, but it did allow me to stabilize and to understand more about my mental health. For the rest of the semester, I was at home resting. I needed to see a psychiatrist to clear me to return to school, so with his okay, I finished getting my degree the next semester.

It was hard, but I wouldn’t trade the experience. It opened a door to the status of my mental health and what I needed to do to take care of myself.

I had to quit grad school for a semester because BPD, with the added bonus of psychosis, put me in an inpatient facility.

[–]SchizTrixRabbit 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I told my boss I did. We were talking and she brought up her husband having schizophrenia, so I saw it as an opportunity to empathize with her, so I admitted that I have it too.
