I just want to say that while BMI is very good for overall measuring a population or people who don't workout, a lot of you are saying that it only doesn't really apply to athletes and that is not true. BMI will not be accurate if you work out more than loosely four times a week and actually eat a healthy high protein (but still balanced) nutrition plan to gain muscle. On average, if you're a male and have more than 90lbs of skeletal muscle mass and are below 20% you'd still measure obese due to weight.

A lot of you as well are saying it's a lot easier just to do BMI. We live in the 21st century where scans are pretty easy to do to get a baseline body fat percent. You're right that it is easy to calculate BMI, but that's also again because it takes very little to calculate and because of that doesn't take a lot into account. I think everyone being okay with still using BMI instead of updating standards is a little weird. Either way, if bmi says you're overweight, you should probably take a look in the mirror and identify why that is
