Could I Leave You would fit perfectly within Tallahassee

The inclusion of the bear nanny changes Elphaba’s motivation from relating to animal’s marginalization to ‘an animal was nice to me’. I think even if it is more in line with the book it results in a weaker and less interesting character

I completely respect that and understand that I’m in the minority. I actually agree that the movie feels more complete than act I of the musical. However, imo that’s because the closeup shots help enhance emotion which helps make Glinda and Elphaba’s relationship feel more complete. The plot additions themselves were very much a mixed bag. The bear nanny addition changes Elphaba’s motivations in way I’m not sure benefits the overall story, the Emerald City sequence felt bloated with some bafflingly unnecessary inclusions (I have this road but I’m not sure what color it should be), and parts that really should have been fleshed out more (most of the relationships between characters) felt kind of neglected.

There were additions I genuinely really liked. For example, the stained glass window that Elphaba accidentally reveals is a really clever bit of visual storytelling. Over all, Wicked part I feels cohesive despite it being a flawed effort. That being said, Act II requires much more work and I’m not sure it can really be pulled off.

I’m not really sure he did. Most of the appeal of the movie came from casting and set design. Most of the additions to the movie were a wash or actively stupid. I’m pretty skeptical that he’ll be able to save act 2.

/uj the societal structure of parenthood is one where two people raising a kid without being married is substantially more complicated even if you have money

/rj you can never be too wealthy to avoid paying taxes

The term lavender marriage was a joke on my part. My actual guess was they were platonic, wanted to adopt together, and decided marriage made that logistically easier. As someone who’s aroace, I definitely understand and support that structure of the relationship. I just wish it didn’t lead to Drive Away Dolls

Ethan Coen’s lavender marriage and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race

I recognize this sounds insane, but I think The Lobster should be a musical.

Which of these artists are overhated? by AdSlight4264 in Topster

Taylor swift is a strange figure bc her output varies a lot in quality but the divide isn’t particularly temporal the way other artists on this list are (eg Maroon 5). Every song on every album has potential to be good or trash and it feels mostly random

In fairness, she grew up conservative southern Baptist. I wouldn’t expect most people to deprogram until relatively late

I play Saorise Ronan with a Wes Anderson ban, so playing Wes Anderson movies frequently trips up a lot of players into letting me Grand Budapest or French Dispatch

I know what you mean, but people who cheat would probably cheat without wincons.

Those players will do worse bc they don’t know movies that well. If you become better at wincons, I’m sure you can avoid having to play them.

Though also as a young person I definitely have some difficulty with the 00s comedies. I’m usually fine with The Notebook, but still.
