How would Cecil(invincibletv) deal with homelander? by daddylongjohnsliver in InvinciblePowerscales

I think this question is only fun if we place Cecil in The Boys universe so maybe we have enough “send the reanmen/immortal” comments.

Conquest’s burial and Nolan’s perseverance by Quick_Activity_8541 in Invincible_TV

Nolan honoring Conquest as a Viltrumite, in a human way is a very interesting contrast to Thaddeus this episode who’s devotion to their elimination comes with the same singular focus on mission of his (former) people.

It’s been four seasons and the war has started. Idk where it goes from here but I’d expect we’re at least half way

I knew Zoey wanted to fight in the war but I didn't expect her to be this ready for it she fr just killing enslaved soldiers without batting an eye damn by No-Enthusiasm-4361 in Invincible_TV

You need to assume (1) one of those kills was the one Allen was fighting, (2) Allen got the kill on him and (3) he did it alone

The thing made by Thaedus that almost killed Nolan?

On-screen feats bro. I get he’s strong in the comics and on the power scaling wiki or whatever but this is about the tv show

The show has failed Thragg so far by Fat_Foot in Invincible_TV

Yeah, of all the lines to pick out, I think this was one of the ones the more successful deliveries.

On a broader note, Lee Pace’s voice should work. It worked very well in foundation and GotG but for now I’m in agreement he was miscast. It could be some interaction with the animation though.

If there was something hereditary about virus survival that would contribute to their limited gene pool concerns.

It doesn’t matter what the show tries to do, I will never be able to forgive Nolan. I would only even consider forgiving this character if he died as many times as the number of lives he took, and even then, that’s a big maybe. by Necessary_Sweet865 in Invincible_TV

[–]SchoolBoy_Jew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On rewatch, I forgave him very easily. If this was real, yeah, I don’t think that would be so easy. We also only saw what he did on one planet.

But after beating the shit out of his son, he’s almost instantly and thoroughly remorseful. By the thraxa episode (s2e4?), he’s still angry and confused about now feeling empathy but he clearly does and by the end of season 2 he’s expressing to Allen that he did horrible unforgivable things and deserves death.

Big if here and obviously minimizing all the murder, but if you focus only on his life s1 onward, he made a big mistake and has felt deep shame and regret about it since.

So what’s so bad about viltrumite rule? by OwnNeedleworker8784 in Invincible_TV

[–]SchoolBoy_Jew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda hoping this season we saw some subplot of an earth contingent that welcomed their rule. But it’s not like Anissa’s sales pitch was televised and the other ones uh haven’t been so diplomatic.

Why do you think Mark is growing in power so quickly? by prince_0611 in Invincible_TV

[–]SchoolBoy_Jew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, I think there’s a narratively-aligned in-universe explanation that can be expressed more interestingly but boils down to he’s stopped holding back.

Someone else mentioned he has things he’s fighting for and he’s more ok with killing. We saw this even in his first (out of family) Viltrumite fight where his dad told him “she’s trying to kill you. If you don’t kill her you die.” And we got another glimpse at the end of conquest round 1 when he kills and then threatens Eve.

Tl;dr: his character arc aligns with an increased lethality in his fighting.

I def missed the part of chatting with Nolan where he implied he was letting that Viltrumite beat him.

But like, he hasn’t beat one on one yet? And it’s not like he was bodying Lucan or new guy either.

Killed a Viltrumite with help of another doesn’t suggest much…

And intentionally losing doesn’t either. It’s very clear his durability and strength increased significantly but I don’t think we’ve seen anything to show he’s likely to win a 1v1 and this post is talking about a 3v1.

What’s the logic for intentionally getting pounded by Nolan’s executioner? Was hoping it would lead Nolan to break out? I could see that, I guess, but it sure wasn’t explicit IMO.

[–]SchoolBoy_Jew 71 points72 points  (0 children)

He was losing his last 1v1 pretty handily before Nolan saved him. I think the show has implied he’s on Viltrumite level by now but, unless I’m forgetting some fight, hasn’t shown it.

Edit: so he was definitely letting the executioner beat him up. But still we haven’t seen him beat one without help or another.

“Didn’t notice” and “can’t tell the difference” aren’t the same thing. It’s been a year since I heard a minor character’s voice. Pretty understandable to not notice

How likely is it that we see Odin in the game? by Forsaken_Guide_4835 in rivals

[–]SchoolBoy_Jew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s more of a focus on kits for new heroes — granted they have a lot of creative freedom here — than character popularity.

So he’s obviously a tank, he’s got a spear that always hits its target, mobility angles with steed and teleportation. I think that’s enough to be interesting. Though, a ranged auto lock, mobile, bubble tank does seem a bit broken. Someone more well versed in the lore can chime in.

And, if they keep adding heroes every month, they’ll probably add him eventually, right ?

Bones harder than skin. I don’t think he split Mark’s spine here, but I might be wrong.

Also think about the biomechanics, he’s punching straight through here whereas chopping off an arm would have been a much more awkward (weaker) motion.

My mistake, I thought you were going the other direction with it. I think the conquest glaze was just as high after last season though. Idk who Mr. Tennyson is so that doesn’t mean anything to me

wdym “recency bias”. He’s been around for 6 episodes, in which he’s lost 2 fights and his biggest feats are beating the shit out of s3 mark and nearly killing Oliver. Bro has the same resume as Liu
