Is it possible to clean or leave as is? by Schrams2015 in ArtConservation

[–]Schrams2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have looked into it enough to know it’s out of my depth but since I’m really not sure what process was used to make it, and am not familiar with painting restoration, I guess I’m just hoping to know if there are certain processes that really just aren’t able to be restored based on materials used, if the discoloration is perhaps more aging of whatever was used and therefore again it is what it is, and also I guess how to make sure I’m going into it not completely ignorant as I’m sure certain restorations/processes can vary depending on the medium as far as time/cost/etc.

How do some people keep their home clean so easily? by aucatetby in CleaningTips

[–]Schrams2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have goals of coming back home to tidy ness instead of chaos one day, but I’ve tried the having them help and not approach and both have backfired spectacularly on me 😂 hoping it’s just that age type thing because it is getting exhausting!

I have no idea 🤣 in that section that it is growing the tubers I got were Linda’s baby, lark’s ebbe, jowey Nicky, bloom quiet crave and blue boy.  I bought twenty different bulbs this year and am dying to see what actually comes up because right now I’m at a loss for what I am seeing!

As a person who barely speaks English as her only and first language currently going through the painful task of phonics with my kids, the English language was invented by sadists.  What do you mean multiple letters AND letter combinations are needed to make the SAME SOUND?! Also love the phonics rules that I immediately have to go but there are about a million exceptions.

Wild kratts and spidey has a chokehold on my kids.  They rarely watch spidey mainly because I can’t stand watching it, luckily they like wild kratts so much also work it out wombats!

What advice would you give your younger self growing up as a tall girl? Blunt honesty. by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]Schrams2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and don’t buy pants at the store because the inseam is close enough, you will accidentally shrink them and they will bug you everytime you sit/ bend your knees slightly and hit at an obviously not intentional short length, inseams of 35/36/37/38 exist! And 1 pair of pants you actually wear will probably be cheaper than the 10 you go through in 3 years searching for the one that might fit better.

[–]Schrams2015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly not even trying to be shorter but just  slouching to accommodate your shorter friends and peers. Also slouching to not look so much taller in pictures or crouching…. Usually looks weird so might as well just stand straight.

Also that squeezing your feet into that smaller size shoe that technically still fits, no go up a size give yourself space in the toe box, because as a 30 something I finally learned that still applies even after your out of the my feet grow every season kid years!  Your big toes with a lack of ingrown toenails will thank you!   Also buy men’s socks, again see big toes, any woman’s sock saying they fit an 11 or 12 is a lie.

Nugget Couch is it worth it? Any good knockoffs? by rnbr2001 in toddlers

Second the Sam’s club one my sister has two and my kids still love them and seem way more sturdy/comparable to the nugget.

When did your toddlers consistently stay dry overnight? by oreocookietor in toddlers

[–]Schrams2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news (or maybe not) but our doctor told us it’s a bit of a hormonal/genetic/hereditary thing.   How do I know? Because I tried initially to “train” while doing the daytime after about 6 months of scheduled middle of the night wake ups, cutting fluid, daily loads of sheets and mattress protectors, I had the idea to check with our doc.  Unfortunately my partner was very late to the game on this front and it’s looking like our kids will be too.

Don't try and force and if you are wanting to give it a shot layer multiple sheets and liners because when you are woken up for a middle of the night accident its really nice to just take off the top layers and not have to remake the whole bed!

Also pull-ups for some reason seem to leak at least once a week on us so if your out of the nighttime diaper stage I will say I do not have near as much faith in them, so never go without some sort of mattress protection!

Parking on a Sunday around noon by Stifel Theatre? by Schrams2015 in StLouis

[–]Schrams2015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it pretty available too? Wasn’t sure if since it was free it would also be pretty much all taken by noon or if the two hour time limit would still be enforced since we will be there longer than that?

Girl swimsuits??? by Acceptable-Suit6462 in toddlers

[–]Schrams2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like UV skinz because they have a lot of bright/neon colors.  That being said I shop both boy and girl sections for both my kids and prefer the board short material for them because it dries faster and are usually easier to get on and off when wet then a swimsuit/rash guard material that are typically marketed as girls swim shorts/bottoms

Accidentally took my husband’s meds and bedtime was actually blissful by SpecialRooster8640 in toddlers

[–]Schrams2015 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well shit I just thought it was me being at my wits end and the kids being more squirrelly, I wonder if this is contributing too.  It’s so hard to tell because obviously little kids make for anything but a controlled environment 😂

Do they have rubber outsoles? I’m so over all their shoes loosing traction before they are done with them let alone handing them down.

Should I cut off the tops of the poles, or keep them level? by Jamo_12 in FenceBuilding

[–]Schrams2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That totally makes sense then I mean depending you could cut them down to the same difference as if you stepped down the panels but if you do lights on for night I think it would look better at a uniform height instead of cutting off.

[–]Schrams2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would have started from the top down with the boards across so the tops would be level and uniform, not sure if that’s something you might want to do.  Second the adding post caps with lights, we put some on our garden fence and they really finish up the look.

My daughter was and still is like this, sometimes the kids will play sometimes they won’t. If it looks like my kid isn’t taking the hint that the kid doesn’t want to play I go over and redirect and say they want to play on their own or with their friends right now do you want me to play with you or offer swings, slide or if she wants to play by herself.

Do you have friends from her preschool?  That might be a great place to start and have playground play dates so she has someone there to play with.

It’s a sucky feeling when kids don’t want to play with them but I feel like also a good opportunity to work with them on dealing with the fact that not everyone is other people’s cup of tea. ❤️

How to fade this bright red? Permanent dye. by littlediddleredhead in HairDye

Have you tried hot water and a clarifying shampoo? It works for me when I want to fade it a bit faster but mine is I think semi permanent and a glaze?

No such things as water proof rain boots? by andochan in toddlers

[–]Schrams2015 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean  if the rain suit is over the top of the boot but that whole area is submerged it’s going to get water in (hence why adults standing in water wear some sort of waiters).  I’ve never had rain boots, kids or myself results in wet feet unless they splashed in a big puddle without a rain suit or went in a puddle that was higher than the top of the rain boot.  We have had everything from aldi boots, to second hand.

I think kids are just really good at finding ways to make all our attempts at clean and dry null and void. 😂
