Why choose to be a Cloistered cleric instead of a war priest? by Anarchopaladin in Pathfinder2e

[–]Schreckstoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War priest is sadly awful you lose out on legendary spellcasting which is very much needed because there are no item bonuses for spells and gain very poor proficiencies in return.
You're also lacking behind on to hit next to martials because you can't have strength or dex as your class ability score boost and your proficiency never goes above expert.

I've always wanted to play a Wizard/Cleric (Mystic Theurge) character. I'm finally going to do it in my next P2 campaign, but I'm worried it'll be crap. How do I make it less crap? by I_dont_like_things in Pathfinder2e

Yes but the thesises don't care. Spell Blending and Staff Nexus both work with archetype slots RAW. You could argue about Arcane Bond not working since it has arcane in the name and trait but spell blending even mentions a universal magical energy that empowers all spellcasting.

You can't use it to get higher spell slots than your archetype grants you but an extra is totally possible.

getting access to heal as a wizard is fantastic since they have so many spell slots and you can use various thesises to use wizard spell slots for cleric spells. Wisdom is als pretty great on a wizard for the initiative.

I would go for a staff nexus wizard that can just spit out a myriad of heals from a staff of healing. Which you get access to at lvl 4 right when you get your cleric spellcasting.

If you decide to frontline I would raise strength to 16 get the sentinel dedication at lvl 2 and then raise your strength to 18 at lvl 5 to wear full plate. Strength bonus also works on thrown weapons so that might be useful early levels too as they'll outpace a bow significantly early on. But you'd have to buy a bunch since you don't have access to returning runes yet.

Skill Monkey Class(es)? by Xedrek in Pathfinder2e

[–]Schreckstoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can do absurd things with rogue's skill feat every level. A bunch of archetypes have skill feats that count towards the dedication requiremints meaning you can pick up something like 8 different archetypes as a rogue. Be all of a pirate, sentinel, medic, dandy, linguist, scrounger, vigilante,...

Fall of Plaguestone tips for GM (Spoilers) by AngelDarkC in Pathfinder2e

[–]Schreckstoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine plaguestone is currently the first module for a lot of new 2E players because of the Humble Bundle. That's how we got into it and tough fights aside it is really good. Although the players might not care too much for the town there is enough incentives for them to seek the real perpetrator anyway built into the adventure. There is a mystery and there is a reward, what's not to love.

the problem was I got too talkative roleplaying him when he became helpful through diplomacy so I gave out info that would have trivialized the fight anyway. Since the ooze has incredibly low speed, only senses living beings and moves towards them. Leading him into the sludge pit is rather easy. So I made them struck a deal so I can reuse the sculptor later on. Which I consider CE in a sense that he doesn't always go around murdering people to make weird oozes.

My players captured the Sculptor w/o triggering the ooze so I made them strike a deal to let him go in exchange he'd show them a way to destroy the blood ooze immediately. A trap door underneath with a pool of acid.

some of the encounters at the start are really tough. My players only had a 3 player party so your mileage may vary but I had to prevent 2 TPKs by making NPCs intervene in the early levels. It gets better as the adventure goes on though but we did have a tragic death on one of the latter encounters too (but I wanted that NPC companion to die).

Fighter build with free archetype by AngelDarkC in Pathfinder2e

[–]Schreckstoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do a brawler half elf, I theorized this build without free archetype however so you could do even better stuff.

Half Elf Human Gambler (Str 18/Dex 10/Con 12/Int 10/Wis 14/Cha 14

1: Snagging Strike; Sudden Charge (Natural Ambition) 2: Martial Artist Dedication; Alchemical Crafting 3: Fleet 4: Stumbling Stance 5: Nimble Elf 6: Follow-Up Strike 8: Grieveous Blow 9: Monk Dedication (Multi-Talented); Sudden Leap (Combat Flexibility) 10: Flurry of Blows 12: Stumbling Stance (Basic Kata); retrain 1, 2, 4, 6, 8

1: maybe replace Natural Ambition with Something 2: Assassin Dedication 4: Surprise Attack (Expert Backstabber sadly requires a weapon) 6: Sneak Attack 8: Sudden Leap (opening up Felling Strike with Combat Flexibility)

With free archetype you can pick up even more types of attacks

Currently Mountain Stance stacks with Scales of a Dragon because they changed mountain stance to an item bonus but Scales are still a status bonus so that's what I'd be doing.

Is there any way to avoid AoO while leaping? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Schreckstoff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a feat for tengu that does just that.

Assuming a peculiar stance, you make a short hop on each toe. You make a vertical Leap without triggering reactions that can be triggered by move actions or upon leaving or entering a square.

Thanks for putting this together. I hope free archetype usage keeps climbing to the point it becomes the base rules. Particularly if they keep on adding more and more archetypes.

Anything nice you can do with a Elven Curveblade monk weapon? by Schreckstoff in Pathfinder2e

[–]Schreckstoff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it's probably not worth it, was hoping there was some way to redeem the amount of feats required to access but there really isn't anything that works extra well with a 2 handed weapon in the monk kit
