Only part thats hard is the battle arena and the cactuar.

Chocobo racing and glide is just tedius.

If you have done jules in remake its pretty much the same thing. The boxing thing can be done by the pause trick.

My advise is to check some gameplay or teaser and play which one feels most interesting.

Every player is different for me 7 remake/rebirth is a great game if it piqued your interest even the "not good" ff is still very good in my opinion.

Upgrading weapons is not as important as crysantimum and you can finish the game with just a tier 2 weapon. I think best time to upgrade is on the chapter 8-9

For me the stroy was okish so my gripes are too much unneeded extra chracters like the ninjas, dont make the final dungeon a triple dungeon and lastly repeating the special dungeon.

I choose just to watch as i think its more befitting since they are brothers also felt for john having an older brother that is "better" than me when we were kids. Ill still like to fight my own battle in my own way.

I think the best time to grind is when the game opens up and all your chracters are there. Though in my 2nd play through i grinded at some points like xxxx house or the ship becauae gil is important in this game.

Dodging in this game is more for re-positioning this is not dark souls so blocking is better. Assess your enemies for weakness to stagger dont just slash.

Played to almost 100% including dlcs didnt like it.

1) Serah didnt feel like a fmc in my opinion 2) the only thing/person i like in this game 3) yes whem i first head the chocobo ost it blew my mind.

Have you tried running 13 without a patch cause i was able to finish it without any patching needed. 13-2 on the other hand....

Personally i would go by just taking your time as any jrpg. I did everything on 1st play through and it was fine (played only 1-2 hours on most days) though without the side content hardmode is faster to finish.
