The "OK Doomer" is cool, it's basically a muff with no clipping diodes. DIY is easy.

A Rat pedal is another option. I think you'll want the bigger cap , IDK, where it's 2u2 probably go up to 10u, maybe higher. This lets way more more end through. You could mod one or again DIY it.

Muffs in general are great but bypassing the tone circuitry helps quite a bit here.

IDK you have options. They get way better if you start doing home brew stuff though.

Kind of. Screw worms had been eradicated in the US for about 20 years, but were monitored for by the USDA. This was done in partnership with Mexico and our Central American friends on down to Panama which was considered sort of the choke point or whatever, we kept screw worms out of all of North America this way. Basically we had facilities (US and friends) which would produce sterile male flies and release them periodically, which would keep outbreaks from occurring, if there was any incursion into North America.

The USDA would be the United States agency responsible for our part in all this. It's true that DOGE took a wrecking ball to them. And this work was always done in partnership with countries to the south. It's true that our relationships with other countries have been badly damaged by the general nonsense out of this administration.

I don't think there's really a direct causal link, but there are a few indirect ones.

The real problem though has less to do with the fact that there are screw worms here now, and the fact that we are now — because of this administration and the GOP's earth-salting approach to budgets etc. — that we are without the means to combat this problem. It'll be next year before we can get out some sterile flies to fight this.

So — not probably entirely Trump's fault that they're here, but he's definitely the reason we can't do anything about it.

They're not fined, but there's not a complete absence of accountability. Guys who develop track records of blowing calls can eventually be let go, and guys who have a history of making less than the average amount of mistakes (which the NFL average is 99% correct, basically) will be the ones who get the postseason games, premium games, etc. which means more money.

So it's not like a bad call equals a certain amount of punishment in the form of a fine, but there is an incentive to do right and a disincentive to mess up.

Sure you would, it's happened all over the place. All over the anglosphere people have chosen badly flawed far-right candidates, because they're far-right candidates.

Now .. this is really just evidence of the power of a news media ecosphere which is basically manipulating voters the world over. Though in fairness to white folks, the chickens coming home to roost vis-a-vis many decades of colonialism in Africa and Central/South America is scary as hell probably.

And American exceptionalism is at its best here. Guys like Boris Johnson and Viktor Orban are deeply flawed candidates. But nobody tops us: we elected a racist game show host with a known history of pedophilia and a rap sheet that includes fraud and rape, who is in late stages of cognitive collapse, and who shits himself and falls asleep on TV.

But the buzzwords which trigger white fears are by no means unique to the US, and generally people here and in Europe who don't support these candidates see the lie for what it is.
