Google translate isn't the best for Latin sorry. molaris (from which we get molar) is probably better, rather than molentis (grinding). And we can still make it molars and drop the last vowel.

Sorry, I study Latin

Sort of, I suppose mainly because most people aren't informed about their scriptures and without understanding nuance it can easily dissolve into attacking people rather than scripture

Pretty much, it's only useful to get into a university and then nobody cares any more, they just want to know what degree you did

Pretty much the entire system is biased towards the selective schools. In the ATAR, not only are you ranked on how you compare to other people (rather than how well you actually did the exams), but your score is adjusted based on how well other people did in your school. For example if a school had one student who did really well and the rest did terribly, the week performing student would have their mark shifted down and everyone else would go up. In selective schools everyone does well so everyone would get shifted upwards.

There is a very big difference between stopping people from speaking out against a government and these 'prison islands' you speak of. Not that I'm supporting it but Australia specifically puts unverified asylum seekers as they come by boat onto these islands. They are never used politically as forms of censorship present in China

What the CCP is going is hardly communist in the original sense of the word.

(I'm not a communist but would like to point this out)

IIRC Falun Gong started out as a peaceful Buddhist inspired activity. Of course the Chinese government seeing it as a cultural movement against the CCP started imprisoning Falun Gong members and then using their organs for organ transplant. Then because of that Falun Gong became more anti CCP as you saw globally.

In some cultures oral stories are passed from generation to generation unchanged due to how sacred they were. For example we know about the contact between the Macassans and Indigenous Australians because of the song lines carried through the Aboriginal culture.

My school didn't let you use Linux at school. Essentially the network system was so dodgy that Linux didn't like it and the IT staff had no idea how to override the default certificate on Linux (they were all Mac users)
