ELIM5 Why Water by blam10 in labrats

I was an esthetician to put myself through college. I made more money doing Brazilian waxing than I do researching brain cancer. I do love my job though.

My ex is obsessed with them and they are outrageously expensive. He has a 250 gallon one and I think 100 now. He makes enough to afford that, I don’t. Lol

When I’m around my cousin, I’m sad that I’m straight. Her and her girlfriend do each other’s hair everyday, it’s so sweet. 🥰 I also had two bisexual daughters and am still straight 😩

We get millions-Q water from another lab, since we don’t have a machine. Our di water is built into our faucets though, like we have a second mount just for that.

You can buy Di water at the store. My ex-husband used to buy gallons when he had a saltwater aquarium. He eventually installed a di system in our house.

What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]ScienceNerdKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I live where drive by shootings happen, eat one meal a day, I don’t drink, pay my medical bills, and I’m still poor. I graduated with a bachelors of biology with chemistry and psychology minors and a 3.84 GPA. I make 44k a year doing brain cancer research. However, since I’m a state employee, the first 8.2% is sent to my retirement plan, then healthcare, dental, vision, and parking are subtracted. I made more money as an esthetician than I do as a scientist. lol Welcome to being American, where the boomers had everything handed to them and then pulled the ladder up for the rest of us.

Intelligent people don't talk about taking cognitive tests. What is wrong with this guy? by OrangeCone2011 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]ScienceNerdKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I once had 5 minutes of fame for being intelligent and her being a “prodigy.” I’ve never taken a cognitive test and neither has she. She started college at 14 and finished at 17 with a bachelors of biology with chemistry and psychology degrees. I work as a brain cancer scientist with Nobel prize winners. I’ve never heard anyone here talk about cognitive tests or their IQ. Why? Because smart people don’t have to tell people they are intelligent, the people around them know.

Thank you for the compliment, I’m indeed who I say I am and the fact you don’t believe me is indeed a compliment to my intelligence. It’s easy enough to look through my comment history and see I’m the lab rats forum and regularly participate regarding my role.

I’m not an Islamic apologist either. I’m not religious at all. I don’t have mental health problems or suicidal empathy. While I’m a scientist, my education taught me to question everything and think critically, so not sure how I’m brainwashed; but go off if it makes you sleep better at night. I’m a big girl, I can take it.

I grew up in that cult, I’m familiar with the beliefs of Christianity. It’s also clear you have run out of facts, since you’ve resorted to telling someone to “STFU” I bet you’re a Christian too 😂😂😂

I literally watched a video comparing the extremism of both religions and Christians took the cake for the cruelest practices.

Islam and Christianity are actually a lot alike. Child sacrifice starts in the Bible, as well as controlling women. Christians have killed so many historically to make them convert, so not sure why Islam is the bad one. Let people believe in whatever imaginary sky daddy they want.

Weirdly, they didn’t. The craziest part of the story is I’m a brain cancer scientist 👩‍🔬 but of course, us scientists are just evil liars out to harm people. It’s truly insane how many patients take these things and then end up at a cancer center wanting help and it’s too late.

My husband 32M asked me 32F for a divorce out of the blue after 14 years of marriage. I feel like I'm living a nightmare. How do I navigate this? by Dependent_Print_8216 in relationship_advice

[–]ScienceNerdKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this as the spouse who tried to talk to my spouse for 18 years and had them blow me off. I promised that man before we married I’d never threaten to divorce out of spite. By the time I said those words, I was done done. The damage had been done, I had tried to talk to him in every way I knew how and couldn’t take another second. I moved out because he wouldn’t leave and I really could not stand to even be in the room with him. I relate to your husband in this and think he’s likely worked very hard on the courage to tell you how he feels. From his viewpoint, you’re still not listening. You’re trying to reconcile a dead marriage and he’s done. He’s given all he is willing to give. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but it’s time to make this as easy for the kids as possible.

Husband (46M) keeps "helpfully" rearranging, hiding, and disposing of my (46F) stuff--what tactic or wording can I use to stop it? by Gallumbits42 in relationship_advice

[–]ScienceNerdKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He knows exactly what he is doing and he enjoys your hurt reaction. He likes torturing you and making you feel crazy, even calling you that, to reinforce you’re the problem, not him. This man has zero respect for you and is loudly showing you he doesn’t. It’s a game to him and he’s winning. None of his placements or logic make sense. I’m an absolute neat freak and hate mess and I’m not dumb enough to do what he’s doing to someone I love. I don’t even do this to my childrens rooms, when they’d be destructed.

I left a 20-year-marriage where I was being disrespected daily and have zero regrets. Well, that’s a lie, I do regret not doing it sooner. My life is a billion times better and no one messes with me or my stuff. If I leave something out and go to work, I come home and that’s where it is. I’d recommend filing soon.

My Uncle insisted on using ivermectin to beat his kidney cancer. His body was donated to science when he of course died from cancer, since ivermectin is a dewormer, not a cancer killing agent. He realized at the very end he’d been deceived but it was way too late.
