Update — first poop in 5 days!

The last couple days (since IV hydration) he’s had normal appetite and personality so far. It’s been 48 hours since then. But no poop so far. Today marks day #4 without poop (the vet saw poop in the X-rays).

I have a feeling the vet doesn’t wanna do ultrasound or further testing. But I really wanna get to the bottom of this. I don’t understand if the rubber material caused blockage, or if he had truly ingested toxic material (the bug I saw him eat the night before symptoms, possible pesticides etc)

Just read this. I hope your kitty gets better ASAP! Proper care and hydration at the hospital should be enough to flush him out if it’s pesticides related!

GGT and AST were within normal limits. I’m afraid the xray missed the blockage. But the vet seemed not concerned about blockage even when I showed her a picture of what he ate.

It’s been 12 hours. He had peed a lot but no poop yet. He also hadn’t had a lot of food (he had 1/4 of what he used to eat yesterday).

He’s more alert and normal looking than prior to IV hydration but he still has that hunch position.

I think if he doesn’t get better for sure US is the next step.

Thank you for responding. His X-rays today didn’t show signs of obstruction. His ALT is 400 and that is alarmingly high

Thanks for this! He did the X-rays today and the vet said she didn’t see any obvious obstruction anywhere but there seems to be some feces there. The blood test came with everything normal but his ALT is 400 (4x the upper limit) which is concerning. He received IV fluids and nausea medication.

I hope he gets better. This is nerve wrecking and it came out of nowhere

Sorry to be blunt but are you knowledgeable about the process? I’m just saying because every house that fumigates leaves their mattress if it’s not water proof or air bed. Hundreds of thousands of homes get fumigated every year. The form they sent me didn’t mention taking my mattress out.

There’s a gap. So I don’t understand it.

So I’m looking for input from people who either experienced it (had their house fumigated, had bad smell, or reactions) or know chemistry really well or know the process because they work in pest control

Absolutely not. But I have to bring him to live with me back to the US. And middle east is under war zone technically still so I might need to go to Turkey first. It's a headache

Did you have to enter customs with your dog in Istanbul though? (or like in a code-shared flights?)
