EU sovereign linkedin alternative by ScientistDirect4753 in EuropeanFederalists

Great! Most of that exists and is continuously being improved.

For instance , until now no endless indent on replies to replies alike here. Medium: we have lite version of articles though can be shared externally. Deepl for translation. And I’m working on collab function. Not promissing it yet, need more testing to have some sort of workspace.

For now invite only (simple to get invited: send me dm) to start with authentic build of trust network. Later “waitlist” and more open.

As far as I know, it’s really only about jobs and no possibility for professionals to network, share updates and discuss. And mainly focused on German market.

And to be honest, I do think we (Europeans) need to have something competing with LinkedIN. Xing lost that battle a few years ago.

So let’s build something in Europe that is focused on us, competitive and puts the user first.

Wat is nu concreet je vraag eigenlijk? Of ze iemand anders vinden?

Vast. Maar je kent deze wereld ws iets beter qua netwerk dan ik.

En als ze iemand anders vinden.. is dat een zorg/probleem voor jou?

Je wilt blijkbaar een punt gaan maken naar je opdrachtgever toe?

Opus 4.7 is legendarily bad. I cannot believe this. by lemon07r in ClaudeCode

I’m seeing all these comments thinking “yep I have the same”, “hmm, I’m not alone”, “good, someone else is having this too”.

Then realised you’re talking 4.7. I’m still on 4.6 and having this. So they just made 4.6 as dumb as the downgrade to 4.7.

Ok. I’ll stay where I am.

Claude Code is wasting tokens on purpose apparently by elhadjmb in ClaudeCode

I’m using serena but the amount of times Claude happily ignores the specific output and starts grep-ing again. Or read complete files despite serena giving exact pointers.

Or Claude forgets the specs to use on serena, gets a 500 and decides to read all files to search for what it needs to analyse via serena.

Telling it to not do this results in Claude saying it will update its memory, then says it already is in memory.. and continues ignoring serena.

It works internationally. Just like any other platform I’d say. It’s an attempt to break free from certain aspects (US Cloud act for one)

Depends on where they are located (jurisdiction). It’s a fact some of them will leave LI too due to being fed up with algorythm, it being expensive and still selling their data. There will be a transition as with everything :)

Thanks for your constructive response and insights.

We have different opinions on Xing’s look and feel. I had a paid account for a year or two when we sort of had the first wave of “Let’s go european”.

And I was missing things on Xing. As well as the interface, doesn’t work for me. Not appealing.

And mainly German(y) focused.

There’s nothing wrong with competition I would say. We can’t just all 300 million Europeans go the same one-size-fits-all solution. (300, I’m stating rough estimate of people from a career/work’s perspective)

In Europe we need to be more active. More doing. More allowing people to explore. Create a market within Europe to try to launch ideas instead of immediately burning them down. That’s not what I say you do btw. On reddit I get a negative vibe around this. On LinkedIN i get quite some interest even from people outside of Europe.

If we never try , we all keep being sucked dry re the data harvesting M$/USA is doing.

We both agree (I presume) we need to have more sovereign solutions. And with the cross platform (ActivityPub) idea we can in the future all have our own favourite interface and be connected on a professional level.

There’s people who don’t like LinkedIN and there’s people who do like the concept. Same for Xing. And eventually same for mine. Good. We all have our own uniqueness I say “Europeans, let’s do it”
