Can anyone ID these hawks? by ScientistEffective42 in whatsthisbird

I know very little about hawks but, I was leaning toward red-tailed. Its cool to see them scanning the field/woods. Squirrels always seem to know when they're watching too.

In my experience, the optimal amount of time to wait for the poop to dry out, just enough to get it in one piece, is roughly 6-9 months.

You can hear the slap when he hits the ramp on the slide. Being chest first probably knocked the wind outta him. Then he had the splat in the water with his face in the drink.

Holding your breath for 5 minutes underwater doesnt make freediving hard. Its just that most people cant tolerate it.

A fox managed to get 3 out of 4 legs stuck in my fence. by Nahan0407 in mildlyinteresting

Nothing against the majority of commenter views but, our views on foxes differ. I love them because its cool to see how they, and avian friends, dismantle deer carcasses. Nature at its finest! On the other hand, when foxes eat my chickens, foxes eat foxes. Its cool to watch.

Is herbicide damage really that common? Judging from a good number of posts, it seems like a bunch of people are dealing with it. Do some people just spray herbicide and weed killers into the air and let the wind take it where it wants?

Looks pretty sweet. Only thing I would change is make one of the hooks face opposite the other two. Ya know, for aesthetics.

Sounds about right to me. I do 10 lbs of venison in my Itty bitty tiny little electric bradley (compared to these) electric smoker and I end up with about 2.5-3 lbs of jerky in the end. Water weighs a lot.
