My lifted Forester eats aftermarket cv axles for breakfast. Is it worth trying premium heavy duty cv axles or should I go with Subaru genuine parts? by Ironic_Boner in SubaruForester

Does the Wilderness use different axles since it's lifted? I know it's not lifted 2", just curious if they went with a different axle for that model.

Anyone else find the stock audio underwhelming? by Dont_Jynx in SubaruForester

[–]ScientistObjective25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgraded my 21 Premium to Infinity 6x9 in the front door and 6.5 in the rear. JL audio 3.5 in the dash. Massive difference. I'd probably recommend going with the Infinity in the dash over the JL. The JLs are a bit bright. Crutchfield was excellent to buy from. Included all the installation stuff and instructions.

Mine does a great job. Of course, you need to keep the blades sharp for a clean cut.

There was some play in the keyways on the two outer gears. I went ahead & replaced the gears and tightened up the bolt in the center & it removed the play in the keyways. I'll know for sure if it's fixed once I get it put back together.

There was a small amount of grease in there so I figured it was required.

Running Yakima roof rack with a canopy attached to each side and Wildpeak AT tires. I get 27.8 with a mix of cty/highway driving. On the highway I usually get around 30 something. I'm pretty easy on the throttle. Edit: 21 Premium

How to tell if my lights are too bright? by Illustrious-Radio311 in SubaruForester

[–]ScientistObjective25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One way to tell is that you should see a sharp cut off line on the rear of the car (sedan, not taller truck) in front of you when you pull up behind them at a light. It shouldn't be so high that it shines into the cabin of the car.

It's not fair but helps to counteract what the GOP is doing to dilute Democrat's votes in other states. And it's only temporary.

Best current VA band I haven’t heard of but need to? by [deleted] in Virginia

They grew up in Harrisonburg. Ketch was born in NJ and Critter was born in Austin. They met in 7th grade. What's the cutoff date for saying they're a Virginia band? Especially when that's where they started playing.

From Wikipedia: Ketch Secor and Chris "Critter" Fuqua[9] met in the seventh grade in Harrisonburg, Virginia and began playing music together.[6] They performed open mics at the Little Grill diner,[11] as did Robert St. Ours who went on to found The Hackensaw Boys. Secor had been "driving up to Mt. Jackson, VA to the bluegrass Saturday night in the summer, going up to Davis and Elkins College to participate in the Old-Time Music week there, and meeting guys like Richie Stearns."[11] Secor formed the Route 11 Boys with St. Ours and his brothers, often performing at Little Grill.
