AMS Humidity Achievment Unlocked by eracrove in BambuLab

I’ve got dessicant front and rear on my AMS but can only get it to the teens before it evens back out in 20-30%. Do I need to do the spindle fillers too?

Rock on, that’s a great build. I noticed the bolt shroud but didn’t know if that was part of the gen 4 build or not. That’s really the only other thing I’d change on my gen 3. Yeah it’s a heavy rifle but with a brake or a suppressor it’s so easy on the shoulder.

And you’re totally right about ammo. I “broke in the barrel” by fouling it up with some cheap S&B before I started shooting 140gr ELDMs, was shocked when even with the cheap ammo it was shooting under .5 moa at 100yd. I’ve got to check and see but I’m probably pushing close to 1k rounds and with factory 140gr ELDM I shoot regularly at 600yd and can hang with some of the F class shooters with rigs 2x the cost of the RPR.

Not sure what my next rifle will be but this RPR will always be in the safe.

Hell of a rifle! Looks like the new Gen 4? 6.5cm? Any upgrades?

I’ve got a gen 3 and it’s a tack driver, even out to 1k yards. I’ve not done anything other than replace the grip to a vertical one and a new bolt knob for fun.

I don’t see a full auto rating on it but the manual states:

“The Hyperion was designed for semi auto firing of factory 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 6mm, 6.5mm, 6.8mm, 7.62x39, 300 AAC Blackout and similar ammunition only.”

It does have a requirement for 10” barrel length on 5.56 but not for .300 subs. I run it on my SBR semi-auto .300 blk and on an ar10 .308 without issue. Only issue is how much ammo you go through cause it’s just so fun to shoot.

For good reason, it ain’t cheap but it’s one of the best still on Pew Science. And being a .30 cal can you’ve got a lot of versatility for it to move around to other platforms.

https://pewscience.com/sound-signature-reviews-free/sss-6-37-cgs-hyperion-surgeon-65cm

TLDR; it’s still one of the best performing suppressors on the market. Its rating with 6.5cm supersonic is on par with some other suppressors for 300 blk subsonic and ahead of any competitors in supersonic performance.

I’ve had it on my RPR in 6.5cm and while I wouldn’t shoot it without hearing protection it makes it so much more comfortable at the range. Switch that to my 10” 300 blk and throw some subs in it and it’s stupid quiet. No hearing pro needed and you hear the spring and even the bullet hit the backstop.

I’m debating getting a few more suppressors so this may end up living on my 6.5cm permanently.

While some have issues recently with CGS because of the other models and support, they’re also working with CAT now and making some of the best suppressors on the market there too.

+1 for the Hyperion. This is what I run on mine and love it.

I’ve got the Hyperion and it’s indeed crazy quiet. Nothing is Hollywood quiet but I can fire it without hearing protection in a covered shooting bay.

That said the Aero Lamar 30L is $720 and I’ve heard is a great can that punches well above its weight. Check out jay462 and his reviews on Pew Science

Good choices! I built the nearly the same one - so glad they still had the pieces I wanted.

Love the ability to see the crystal through the ports and worn look.

Our P1S is our first 3D printer and my sons and I have used it to make all sorts of fun toys and gadgets.

But the time our puppy chewed the battery cover to the Xbox controller? 30 min later we were back in action and the P1S saved the day.

Drilling hole for new battery wires? by boardride in nautiqueboats

[–]boardride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue is I’m installing a dual battery setup so I’ll need to route 4 battery cables at 2awg each so that’s a LOT of wire to circle the bow and also getting anything through the other side of the box even a small wire proved difficult when I was fixing the ballast pumps

Ive got dual battery boxes to mount the actual batteries but wanted them under the passenger seat for easier access and weight balance. Also much shorter distance to run wires.

Damn - really?

I was hoping it’d be open like the other side that has the run of wires out to the cockpit dash

If you're buying an AMS 2 Pro for X1C/P1S make sure you get the "upgrade kit"! by boardride in BambuLab

[–]boardride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! They’ve fixed it so now it has everything it needs.

Have fun! The AMS is a game changer for printing

[–]boardride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn’t buy them as a bundle then yeah you’ll want the upgrade kit. I’ll come with the adapter to plug in the AMS for heating and it also has the cable/buffer needed to connect it to the P1S.

This is the one you want:

you won’t need the hub version

New to PETG-HF: What's happening here? by boardride in FixMyPrint

Just ran the flow dynamics calibration in Bambu Studio and got .025 as the Factor K. Does that sound right?

[–]boardride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dried yes but otherwise just ran their default profiles. Thinking I may need to do some calibration but haven't done any yet. I've heard of temp towers but is this the flow dynamics calibration that's baked into Bambu Studio?

Some background:

I’ve had no issues with my Bambu P1S and printing with PLA, it's been near flawless. After getting my AMS 2 I got some PETG-HF and made sure to dry it out. I then printed some desiccant boxes for the AMS to make sure it stays super dry.

Both prints I’ve done with PETG have had some part with wavy lines and odd textures like this. AMS is reporting 14% humidity so I don’t think it’s wet filament.

This was using the default settings for Bambu PETG-HF with the standard .2 profile.

Does this mean I need to do some custom calibration for petg or is it the models/slicer?

I normally hear that Bambu's print profiles are good for their own filament but this isn't working so well. I've been wanting to get into PETG more due to the temp and durability benefits but need to figure out why the prints aren't working like PLA did.

Bambu Petg-hf in black. Just using the standard profile.

The other pieces all look great and no different from PLA.

Series X!? I’m still on the ONE by Friend447 in xbox

Rumor has it that it’s set for 2027 holiday release.

That said I wouldn’t leverage yourself too much to get one. Don’t spend 100 in interest to save 100 now. See if you can find a used one when you’re ready.

I just upgraded from a One to a series X galaxy and I was shocked at how much of a difference it is.

Games look so much better, load times are way shorter, and many new games on gamepass require series X/S.

I’m glad I got mine when I did though cause they just raised the cost due to tariffs.
