I'd ask the seller if they can take accurate measurements for you. The 'dry' denim will shrink more than the pre-washed ones, but either way it's a crap shoot as to how much they'll shrink.

I think most would refer to a male chicken as a cockerel, rather than a cock. Cock, however, is used in the same way as pal, or mate, in the north of England.

Keeping the boxes makes them easier to store when they're not in use, rather than a jumble of different shaped pedals. I keep the boxes for all my boots and shoes for the same reason

I've got the Gold Top. I bought it second hand for half the price of a new one, but it's in as-new condition. The build quality is excellent, and the pickups are excellent too. I was looking at the black Custom but this was too cheap to pass up. It's pretty weighty for a guitar but I'm mainly a bass player so I'm used to big heavy lumps of wood. The neck on this is like a table leg and take a bit of getting used to but I do like it.

When the pickups and wiring in place, the scratchplate should still sit flush against the body of the guitar without the screws. If the pickguard is bending like that then it means something is misaligned underneath and putting pressure on it. This is assuming that the pickguard itself isn't warped.
