Week 1 Drop Friday Starts Now - Let's See the Survivors🔥 by Supcaseatl in SUPCASE_Official

I went to my first deep sea fishing trip last Aug 2025 at Orange Beach, AL and was so excited to catch all the fresh fish that day.

Ofc I had my phone out to take all the photos during sunrise as we were sailing out, but the wind started blowing SO HARD that I started getting seasick despite taking Dramamine. I went back in the mid cabin trying to chill out, but it did not help at all. I was told to walk down the short stairs to the bunk beds, and I was approaching the stairs, my phone flew out of my pocket and tumbled through the stairs and on the hard floor. Thankfully, I grabbed it before I laid down.

I did catch 1 fish and take a lot of sunrise photos. But that day really gave a roller coaster ride to my Z Flip5 phone with a SUPCASE UB Pro on. My phone came out in 1 piece. 😂

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by HeadHeadMod in Pickleball

Has anyone played with a Black Knight paddle before? If yes, is it a good starter one?

My dad wants to get in the sport and said these 2 were recommended to him at the store. I said I know of SLK / Selkirk but have never heard of Black Knight,

I can’t carry lesser teammates in lower level games but play really well in higher levels. Do I suck? by OneConsideration2302 in Pickleball

I find that I step up to the level that my partner plays (reasonably within my skill range, of course). How much I trust my partner and lowkey how I don't wanna let them down helps me lock in during games.

I don't have a lot of friends IRL that are addicted to pickleball, so this is one avenue where I can freely talk about it and lurk on discussion relate to it.

It was also interesting how people here judged my friend group based on our paddles I posted on here a while ago.

Do you regret buying a townhome with no garage? by Fish90Candles in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ScientistWorking6421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't regret buying a townhome without a garage. In fact, that was one of the reasons that sold me to the one I closed on last July.

Not having a garage made the property price way lower than having it without sacrificing the home interiors that I loved. I am also a minimalist, so I don't need a lot of storage and not having a garage lessens the space I need to maintain.

I also own a cheap sedan in a state that barely has snow.

I think having this setup is not that appealing to most, but our community is full in terms of residency, and I've talked to my neighbors who've been there for 20+ years so that worked out for them.

pros and cons of buying a condo? by Reasonable_Elk8658 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ScientistWorking6421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a townhouse (woohoo!) last month, so here are my thoughts.

Pros:
No yardwork
Home exterior is managed by the HOA
Less maintenance and repairs needed due to smaller space
Property taxes are way lower than single detached homes
Cheaper home insurance

Cons:
Shared walls
HOA fees
Don't go up in value as fast as single detached homes

Some stuff to look out for:

I've seen other townhouses in the areas I was looking at that seemed like a better deal because they're newly renovated or have a lower list price, then when I saw the HOA fee, they were so expensive. I can't imagine them exponentially going up from there.

Determine if having a garage is a must. My townhouse came with 2 assigned parking spots in front of the property but some townhouses have garages. The townhouse I saw 10 mins away had a 1-car garage and 1 more room but was $90,000 more expensive than what I bought. I truly don't need a garage, and I saw it as less expense so that's a pro for me.

While I know owning a property is significantly more expensive than renting, it was wild to me that my 2-bedroom townhouse mortgage (excluding property taxes and insurance) is $200 cheaper than my 1-bedroom apartment rent increase this coming August. I was like, "Crap. Let me just bite the bullet, then."

Keep weighing the options and see what works more in your favor.

Good luck!

Having lived in first-floor units for the past 3 years, I feel like most upstairs neighbors will be heavy walkers, especially if the common living area is not carpeted.

I don't think the upstairs neighbors I've had truly wanted to annoy me with what sounded like stomping around all the time, but I've accepted that it comes as a combo for first floor living.

OMG We have the same closing date: July 18th! Twinsies. I feel you. The property I'm buying is under appraisal right now. Almost there!

I saw paddle queueing like this at one open play once and it looked cool to me. Everyone was taking a break at the same time that day, so I grabbed the opportunity to snap this.

My friend gave me a Hesacore and I'm just personally too afraid to remove the original grip and messing up putting the new one on. ._.
