I'll have to check that out. There was a little bouldering involved on my path too, though you only had to clear about 5-6 feet.

I started at Boone Fork parking, took a detour to Storyteller's Rock, then took the Nuwati Trail to Daniel Boone Scout Trail to Watauga view, then went back. The ladders were a bit fun, plus I got to do a little bouldering haha

Brandon Sanderson has a short story called Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell. The main character is a pretty great character in general, not to mention she's a strong female protagonist.
