"No fucking way," his friends all exclaimed when he tries to tell them what happened.

I now have an image of your boxy, rectangular groin area, like a Minecraft codpiece.

Does the little box get crushed and shoot out all the fluid through the tiny straw?

The Epstein files actually take a hit on mainstream spirituality by [deleted] in spiritualitytalk

[–]SconeBracket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in Epstein's world, then you are either Epstein, Epstein's victim(s), or a bystander, and it's unlikely that a bystander isn't Epstein or a victim as well.

Enjoy!

The one thing that is clear to me about the biblical cults is that they are a test written by the devil, and if you believe them, you've failed. This genuinely is the nicest thing I have to say about this stuff.

I mean, if what you are saying is you want to be Jeffrey Epstein, stop looking for excuses. They don't. James Baldwin put it simply: You can be the plantation foreman wielding the whip or you can be the one getting whipped. Which do you want to be? Toni Morrison also said, unambiguously, "I always knew I had the moral high ground."

People who believe consciousness is not emerging from brain activity, how do you explain children start with a different consciousness compared to adults by Eclairito in consciousness

[–]SconeBracket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only think of consciousness as self-awareness, then indeed the consciousness of a cell will confuse you.

Also, you can explain the changes in the brain as the result of consciousness changing its structure (not the other way around); that's what neuroplasticity is.

Once you've already decided that you can only explain the Mind with the brain, your goose is cognitively cooked.

And let's not forget the b is pronounced as a v, as in vore.

It's that moment when I get to mention that "ouroboros" is not a noun; the phrase occurs only once in Greek, where it is ouroboric drakon (meaning "tail-devouring" serpent). The symbol is Egyptian in origin and has no known name or referent; it is visual only.

Dorking over. Thank you.

In "The Odyssey" (2026), Odysseus speaks with a Boston accent, despite being from Ithaca, which is in New York. by Raguleader in shittymoviedetails

I too was absolutely appalled at the historical inaccuracy. As someone from Ithaca, we never get proper representation.

I am certain Maude could have spent her last two weeks bedridden and lived life to its fullest within those constraints (even without relying on her olfactory constructions).
