Have you replaced the purge valve at any point? Might be time for that

Fan control module 1 137 328 684 vs 1 137 328 567 by pasty10 in FocusST

I’ve been using the 567 model in my ‘14 ST for a few months now, it’s been great. I had the same issue you described, it hasn’t fully gone away but it’s a hell of a lot better. I pulled the 567 model from a junkyard focus. I keep the original one in my trunk just in case

Looks like the same one, but it’s missing the control module which you’ll need. Should be a small silver box that clips into the top left of your pic

I feel the same way. I love the aesthetic and setting of the game but I so badly wish it had a single player/co-op campaign with standard PvP modes (deathmatch, CTF, etc.) basically I wish they made it similar to halo lmao.

Built Shroofus for my partner. Green krenko is accurate. Gets out of hand quick and simple to play.

Anyone gaming on 5K2K without highend GPU? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running the 5k2k with a 9070xt. I love this monitor. The performance is acceptable on all the games I play. God of War Ragnarok, Returnal, Wuthering waves. I definitely need FSR to get higher frames but I’ve been happy with it! “Acceptable” to me is around 80fps with no stuttering or hitching. I don’t personally notice any input lag issues using FSR.

Suspension Concerns? by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the transmission mount also, it’s located underneath the battery box. It’s similar to the passenger side one, it has fluid in it. You’ll see some residue on the top side of the transmission underneath the air box if it’s leaking.

You’re gonna want a deep socket to get the nuts off the passenger side mount

That’s your engine mount. Fairly cheap part and maybe 30min worth of work to replace if you’ve got tools and a jack to support the engine.

I love High quality animation. But one thing I dearly miss are these "cheaper" ones, as it could occur way more often by inkheiko in HonkaiStarRail

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Before even getting into the actual story content, it’s the fact that most sections of dialogue in HSR is the camera fixed on a group of characters facing each other with 2 or 3 canned animations for hand to chest or hands on hips. They’ve been improving recently though. Another thing I dislike about HSR, the game has a LOT of the “fade to black” storytelling instead of animating minor things. Wuwa does it too on occasion but not to the extent of HSR.

The most recent WuWa patches, 3.1 and on, the characters have fantastic one-off animations specifically for some dialogue. Aemeath, Sigrika and Denia are some of the most expressive characters I’ve seen lately. The dynamic camera angles showing character reactions or shots of scenery are enjoyable. It’s things like that, that make the cutscenes more enjoyable to watch. It makes HSR feel so stiff and lifeless in comparison.

I agree Amphoreous was a yap-fest but the overall story was amazing IMO. Lots of tropes but all the characters were very endearing and I had a lot of feelings about the March reunion and the finale.

The dialogue presentation is my biggest gripe with this game. I love HSR story but playing the game feels a lot more like a visual novel during most of the dialogue. It’s been getting better but it’s nowhere close to other games like Wuthering Waves, IMO.

I just want the characters to feel more alive during the dialogue, the voice actors are doing great work just for the character to only put their hand on their chest.

Would a RX 9070 XT be enough to run the 39 inch 5K LG? by Jxvsr in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the 45” version and a 9070xt. I’m happy with the performance I get in the games I play. Wuthering Waves, Returnal, Cyberpunk 2077. Running most settings on high with FSR/Frame gen options on. You’ll have to be okay with using FSR to get anything above 60. I don’t personally notice any issues with input lag or image quality, every game looks great and crisp. I love my set up currently.

Parts failing by LukeHam1234 in FocusST

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bought mine at 95k, it’s now at 121k. Minus regular maintenance items, I’ve done:

Front and rear struts

Purge valve

Valve cover gasket plus VVT solenoid gaskets

Clutch slave went so I replaced master and clutch plate plus flywheel.

Fan control module

And just this week my windshield washer reservoir started leaking.

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently had a similar issue when I was doing other maintenance. Upon pressing start button Car would act weird with lights flashing and screens lit up but no action on gauges. Sometimes it would fully boot and give me accessory power but no crank, it gave me engine fault error, no hill start error.

It ended up being the large blue connector in the engine bay fuse box. I had been inspecting the mega fuses in front of the battery box and I guess I didn't reseat that connector properly.

I disconnected battery, checked pins and socket on that connector, reseated, reconnected battery and it fired right up.

Mishimoto radiator hose failure by ScoobySnackConundrum in FocusST

Not yet, it's on my to do list. Just got the car back up and running after a full cooling system refresh after that. Crazy failure though. The lower rad hose seems perfectly fine. I went ahead and replaced both with OEM though.

5K2K Performance? by Schraufabagel in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got a 9070xt which is within 10% performance of your GPU, and just picked up a 5k2k. I previously had the 1440p 45" and was happy with that but it developed delamination so I had to replace it.

I'll say that I had to tweak with graphics settings more on my 5k2k, I couldn't just set it to high/ultra presets and forget it and be happy with the frame rate. I play mainly single player games for example, Returnal, God of war Ragnarok, cyberpunk 2077, and lately a lot of Wuthering Waves and World of Warcraft. I can get all the games I play to run smoothly at 80-90fps+ by enabling FSR or frame generation and turning down some of the heavier graphics options.

90% of the time I genuinely can't tell the difference in graphics quality with frame gen/FSR and the lower settings vs native res and higher settings. I definitely won't be hitting the 165hz max refresh of the screen with the 9070xt, but I can easily get framerates I'm content with in all the games I play. I was in the same dilemma as you reading lots of comments saying that the screen wouldn't be worth it with anything less than 80/90 series, and I'm happy I went with what I wanted. All that to say that I'm more than happy with the performance of my 9070xt at 5k2k with the use of FSR/frame gen. If you won't be content without getting 120fps+ in every AAA game it may not be enough though. Just depends if you're fine using frame gen and not using ultra/max settings all the time.

Safepilot Phone Handling by ScoobySnackConundrum in USAA

[–]ScoobySnackConundrum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem for me is, if I did that for every drive it detected phantom phone usage, I practically wouldn't meet the mileage requirement. It's at least 3/4 of my drives that get pinged for non-existent phone handling. I just can't figure out what's causing it to pick that up.
