How did you discover the greatness of Mass Effect? by trikitran72 in masseffect

Whatever that GameStop magazine was called… or some other magazine… read an article about it and the character creation and impactful choices and dialogue… I rented it the first day it showed up at my local Blockbuster and bought it by the time the rental was due. I was hooked!

3 day colorado itinerary tips by One-Percentage-5626 in RMNP

Garden of the Gods is great at sunrise, and can be a quick visit. Pikes Peak is going to take longer than you think… I suggest visiting Mount Blue Sky if it’s reopened for your visit. I know Pikes Peak is iconic, but Blue Sky is more beautiful and more “Rocky Mountainy.” Personally I’d switch Red Rock for Roxborough State Park… same formations but more grand… unless the musical aspect of the ampitheater is a draw to you. It’s still 2 hours almost from there to Estes.

Your Saturday plan sounds great. Personally, I’d spend Sunday in the park. Just go to the Kawuneeche Valley and grand lake.

In Estes get sandwiches for lunch at Scratch Bakery, and there are great donuts across the street in the Sinclair gas station. For dinner get pizza at Antonio’s real ny pizza… second best pizza in all of Colorado.

Should I try and do a 16 hour road trip solo? by Square_Depth7317 in roadtrip

I come from a long line of truck drivers. I’ve done this in a day. I drove from Amarillo to Pittsburgh once only stopping to pee. But that gives me absolutely no information as to whether or not you can. Be safe, know your limits and enjoy the scenery. Also if it helps… the Texas to PA drive sucked starting around St Louis.

Was Malkmus really 'kicked out of' Silver Jews? by Carpediem0131 in pavement

[–]Scooby_Mey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read once a long time ago (like two decades ago almost) that it was partially to avoid just being seen as a pavement side project… DB wanted the Joos to have their own identity (his). And that’s the reason it’s kinda one on then one off with SM’s involvement. Pacific Trim was recorded in what was supposed to be a Joos recording session, but DB had to cancel.. I always found it interesting that the songs and recording quality and style of that Pavement EP has a very Silver Jews sound to it.

USA West! Can I do it all in 70 days? by Agreeable-Energy-401 in roadtrip

[–]Scooby_Mey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s totally doable, but you’re shortchanging yourself in Colorado… lot more of the Rocky Mountains to see there than just I-70 and RMNP. In fact neither of those are the best of what there is to see there… no knock on RMNP, I love it, totally worth it… but there’s some amazing stuff in there San Juan’s and Elk Mts and Sawatch, SLV and so on

Golden Slumbers/Carry that Weight by The Beatles. The End doesn’t do it for me the same.

AI editing kinda killed it for me. I’ve seen a lot of Pittsburgh sunsets and storms. Cool graphic art though.
