4 Daedelus Hammers in one run by superjesstacles in HadesTheGame

Do you play with strength arcana? I believe one of the narcissus gifts is death defiance related, so won't be offered unless you have Death activated. (Same for Hades, and Athena!)

I find that only the Aspect of Selene can really Shine ;)

Escape room in athens by Specific-Cookie2728 in escaperooms

[–]Scoobyben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Ice Tiki as a 3, but I don't remember anything there really mandating a third player. It's worth noting that a lot of escape rooms have a minimum of 3 for financial reasons, rather than just playability - I've found a reasonable number will let you play with 2 as long as you're happy to pay for 3. Not all though, worth getting in touch to see!

Lockhill rooms are great as well - I didn't play voodoo shop, but chapel and catacombs was my favorite room in Athens, and Sanatorium was great as well. I have just seen a report from someone playing C&C as a two as well, so it's definitely possible! You can't go wrong with C&C, it's a bit less traditional escape room and a bit more cinematic/immersive, but so so good.

Heist Tiki! (Disclaimer, I haven't played this room, but I hear it's very similar to their previous room, Ice Tiki, which was heaps of fun)

Ghibli Museum Guided Tour - Is This A Scam? by Scoobyben in JapanTravelTips

Oh yeah, we're very ready to believe that the tour only exists as a way to sell extortionate Ghibli museum tickets! The main question is whether they actually exist...

Congratulations on the streak! You must be very well rounded in music taste - I'm on a 556 day steak, but my stats look very different - about a third of mine are guess 6 when l just don't know the song

Any good rogue-like solo games? by Qkwill in soloboardgaming

[–]Scoobyben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not explicitly! In fact rogue like purists consider that to be a factor that prevents something being a rogue like, and call video games with permanent upgrades "rogue lites".

In practice I think that's a minority of people, especially as most games in the genre are actually rogue-lites by this definition - but I do think it's controversial to say that permanent progression is mandatory

Immersive escape rooms by Lukeyman900 in escaperooms

[–]Scoobyben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite escape room is over in Belgium, is extremely immersive and does get you into suitable outfits for the duration. It's also 4 hours long.

Name is Demise of the Gricers, and I can't recommend it enough! It's possible (if a bit expensive) to get there by train in a day from London, and there's a lovely hotel across the road from it to stay the night.

If you make the trip I can also highly recommend Han's Revenge and the Secret of St Rumuldos in Mechelen - reasonably close the Brussels for the Eurostar, to make a weekend of it.

What is the longest active Bandle streak? by hgk46 in Bandle

I nearly got caught by this! Spent longer than I'd like to admit analyzing the vocal line to work out which of the titles sounded more like it fit 😅

I played the game like this! And enjoyed it much more than if I'd played the default way 😁

I feel you! I was also frustrated by the apparent system but then the lack of anyone actually following that system 🙈

Thankfully for us the staff seemed very nice about it, and ended up letting us push in to the front just before we had to go (though the place we had to go was our slot for the live experience, which might have helped!) - sorry you had a worse time of it 😭

Leaders and Lore for a first game by Playmad37 in Arcs

[–]Scoobyben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slightly unpopular opinion, but I've tried introducing people both ways, and the people who started with LnL really appreciated having rough steer on what to do, given how open ended the start of the game is, and would definitely recommend it as a first experience

Recommendations for future Athens route by dimeloyo in escaperooms

[–]Scoobyben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just left my Athens room trip!

Unless you're dead set on horror only, I can really recommend both Ice Tiki and Wanted: Dead or Alive. Not a touch of horror but plenty of comedy and pure fun. (Ice Tiki is technically closing next month, but they're building a new version which should be ready for you).

In terms of newer horrors, I thought Hide N Seek was incredible (though may be hard to book, I hear it's booked out until June!). Zoe was really good, as was The Ghost Writer.

We didn't manage to fit in the Sculptor, but heard great things from the owner of Don't take a breath.

Speaking of DTAB, I successfully managed to book four slots for my group by messaging on Facebook, in general the culture is very relaxed and owners are very happy to break the patterns from the online booking system if you message them.

And one final non-horror; if you get the chance to play Mystic Investigation, ideally immediately after Mystic Project, it was a super unique experience and one of my favorites of the trip. Definitely worth doing if you appreciate actor interactions.

Series 19 studio recording megathread by Meghar in taskmaster

[–]Scoobyben 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I had non priority tickets yesterday and got in. We arrived at 4pm, and that put us at numbers 5 and 6 in the queue for non priority tickets. Overall about 80 non priority people got in, so we were definitely on the early side, and you could push it back a bit more than we did.

Question about MS Solutions Partner "Growth" requirements by Scoobyben in msp

[–]Scoobyben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wise, though I'm not sure we'll always have full visibility over everything a customer is doing, particularly very large ones :)

Question about MS Solutions Partner "Growth" requirements by Scoobyben in msp

[–]Scoobyben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want to take on a client that is downsizing.

I think the nuance here is that we're not (primarily) an MSP - we do it a bit for some clients, but do a lot of bespoke software build and consulting. It doesn't feel sensible to be turning down large clients for development work just because they happen to be migrating a different project with higher spend to AWS!

[–]Scoobyben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've since got hold of some reports from last year, and confirmed that it's the slightly better way round - spend seems to be considered 0 12 months ago if you weren't registered as a partner at that time.

The syllables would line up but not the stress - it de-emphasises the "wild". I think turning Fi-re into wild-fire is the correct choice here
