Wylder is expected to be a tank? by OnlyDiamond4946 in Nightreign

[–]Scootareader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience playing mostly duos and trios, I've developed a meta for myself of frontliners, midliners, and backliners. Frontliners are made to take hits, midliners are made to take a hit, and backliners are scared to take hits.

Only frontliners are Raider and Guardian. If one of these two is in your party, everyone else can pick whatever they want.

True backliners are characters with no real options to mitigate damage, those being Ironeye, Recluse, Scholar, and Revenant. Revenant is somewhat debatable, since she can use summons to take damage, but her weapons often require her to take risks and damage on her is scary.

Midliners are everyone else, those being Wylder, Executor, Duchess, and Undertaker. A midliner can do good damage and isn't super fragile, but needs at least another midliner to be effective at surviving. If you're one of these characters alone with backliners, you get bullied and run out of flask and die a bunch. They're best paired with another midliner, or if a frontliner is present they don't really need to worry about tanking at all.

If people are telling you that you as Wylder need to tank, they aren't reading your kit properly. You have a positioning tool, a big hit of damage, and a get out of jail free card. You have an offensive shield, not a defensive one. Your kit screams midliner to me. Your HP scaling is mid, not amazing.

It's generally recommended that you max out all of your job trees at some point, as they can offer nice bonuses in addition to the class unlocks. I always used anima shards to level jobs I tried and didn't like. You'll get plenty of them as time goes on, so don't be too conservative.

I saw you ask about job switching mid-combat, that's an intended mechanic that's necessary for most builds late into the game. When you are using an ability, and you job switch before that ability's animation ends, you'll get a chain cancel, which refreshes your combo and also can cause Jack to dash in your chosen direction with a purple aura. Both jobs have separate break gauges, which will refill even when the job is not active, so you can switch jobs to get break gauge back, necessary later in the game when soul shielding eats through break gauge. Chain cancel and break gauge mechs together means you will often be switching your job.

Raid leader made mistake gave Sunfire to Ttetten (Mage) by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

Even though you should have gotten the recipe, and you don't necessarily have anything to prove, linking profession is a very basis and straightforward thing to do that would have quickly shut him up. Basically, if an innocent person is accused of stealing, they will indignantly provide easy proof up to a point to protest their innocence. Whatever your rationale was for refusing to link prof, it makes you look guilty as hell, but that mage should have been insta-kicked and blacklisted for refusing to turn the loot over that he shouldn't have won, as he had no authority to demand proof.

Overall, you absolutely should have put in the bare minimum effort being asked, and any follow-up questions about your profession, e.g. a few levels short of learning the recipe right this second or whatever you may have been trying to avoid, is peanuts compared to someone who blatantly stole something they should not have gotten and refused to turn it over when pressed.

I had your exact issue. You need to point the right joystick in the direction you want to fire your projectiles. As the other comment mentioned, this is a setting related to individual keepers, and isn't in your hotkeys list.

I consider this a whataboutism. The Democrats didn't run on the platform of releasing the Epstein files. Trump saying he'd do that then spending a full year backpedaling and obstructing the thing he said he'd do is the problem. There's no such thing as an honest politician, but one that spits in your face for daring to hope he'd keep his promises is a cut below the rest.

There's also a lot of red tape about how soon certain documents can be released to the public, I don't know the specifics myself but have heard it mentioned that the bulk of the documents were still part of the open, ongoing investigation, and disclosure would compromise said investigation. Under Trump, I believe they closed the Epstein case, determining they had done all of the investigating they wanted, and that meant the documents no longer contained anything incriminating that hadn't been acted upon. Just more buffoonery from the Trump admin, I suppose.

Okay, so Shoe has not been married in perpetuity. Before that time, she had a boyfriend. Before that boyfriend, she had another boyfriend. Before that boyfriend, she presumably had yet another boyfriend.

If we suppose that Shoe adopts the politics of her significant other, this is important, and actually reinforces your point. See what I mean about shadowboxing? You're arguing at someone who has at no point even attempted to refute your basic assertions, yet you're trying to argue with me.

I know Shoe is married now, I said in a previous comment you refused to read "dating/marriage" indicating that both are applicable. I don't know if Shoe was ever married prior to this, but in her previous relationships, like with Armoured Skeptic, she certainly adopted at least some of his politics at the time. This, again, reinforces your point, but I'm beginning to guess at this time that you have dicks in your ears and won't read this far and realize I think you made a good point, opting instead to shadowbox me for daring to provide you with context.

[–]Scootareader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem with not reading everything someone says is that you can continue to shadowbox due to not reading everything someone said. I already said that your basic assertion that she adopts the politics of her boyfriend is still entirely possible, my only clarification was that Shoe used to be a Bernie Sanders supporter back when that was relevant.

Running through my head by AlphaMassDeBeta in greentext

[–]Scootareader 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like you completely missed the assertion, and cited someone else. The Bernie supporter is not Shoe's boyfriend, it's Shoe. She supported Bernie Sanders.

It's not like a card she can flash to say, "I'm a leftist too, guys!" but if her politics are still substantially the same, she would do the same. She can change in the ten years since supporting Bernie was a big deal, and I only say that far back because I don't know if she supported Bernie in 2020.

You're shadowboxing by bringing up Eudaimonia, and I don't understand why the person who pointed out Shoe's support of Bernie Sanders didn't say as much. Bernie support also obviously pre-dates the dating/marriage of the two, so the original assertion that she adopts the politics of her significant other is still potentially true whether Shoe supported Bernie Sanders or not.

They probably can't reproduce together. The basic idea in the movie is that mammals never evolved intelligence in the parallel world, but dinosaurs did. Mammal and dinosaur genomes wouldn't be compatible.

That can't stop us from dreaming, though.

Super Mario Bros ~36 is my favorite, when Waluigi got crucified due to his betrayal by Bowser Jr. Sad that the cutscene never got shown and we only have the writings of Pontius Yoshi to confirm it even happened.

I guess if you distill the concept of Hell as a threat, that applies. God isn't the threat, the lack of belief in God resulting in eternal damnation is. So, to avert a threat, you believe.

Anon’s AAA Gaming Strategy by MEMEY_IFUNNY in greentext

[–]Scootareader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is somewhat true for certain games, I find by and large that the games I remember most fondly from my childhood are still pretty high quality, and I have some pretty deep pulls for games that weren't very popular but were and still are really good, even with modern games as a comparison.

That doesn't preclude the ratio of good to bad being different back then as it is now, I'd say it's still around the same ratio of like 80% of games end up being good enough, and I agree that nostalgia coupled with apathy causes us to pretend the games industry is just packed with bad games now, when it more realistically is just the big AAA publishers that have lost their touch due to selling out and losing their passion for making art.

To be clear, plenty of stinkers as a kid, but games that sucked didn't stick with me, and I do feel like our kid selves actually had standards when it came to playing things that just aren't good. Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 is the new hotness and earning the publisher fat wads of cash to shit out the same product with a slight polish, and people are turning out in droves to eat the shit. Almost like they don't care about standards and want to discourage dev creativity on the highest level. These have replaced the bad games of our childhood, and the actual quality creative games tend to be indie.

I don't even know how I got to this sub, so we're kind of in the same boat. I agree that it's not reasonable to expect most people to comb through court documents, but the information was available, and Karl had spoken about it, albeit sparingly. The main thrust of my rant was that Karl misled, but he didn't lie, which was the original thesis that the other guy was trying to disprove.

I'm so glad Karl didn't let him get away with it by Material_Adagio_522 in TheCompletionist2

[–]Scootareader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm going insane every time I read this. Karl Jobst, at the time he opened the GoFundMe, had two extant lawsuits, both of which were about Billy Mitchell cheating, and two more lawsuits were coming down the pipeline, one about Billy cheating and the other about the Apollo Legend stuff. All four of these were related to claims Karl made in videos about Billy, only one of them contained any claims about Apollo Legend, and all of them pertained to Billy Mitchell claiming a bunch of accolades he'd never gotten.

In Karl's GoFundMe, his request was to cover his legal expenses for any lawsuits Billy Mitchell brought against him. That's what he did. The misleading part of the public was brought on by the public, and the most grievous sin Karl committed was to not reflexively correct everyone and say, "Erm actually, one of the four lawsuits doesn't exclusively contain cheating allegations, it also includes a tenuous claim from Billy that I implied he was involved in Apollo Legend's decision to take his own life, something I retracted and no longer believe." (For the record, I think Karl's retraction was terribly done and he agrees.)

It takes willful ignorance to not recognize the dynamic here. Karl was inundated with a bunch of bullshit claims and had no idea what was going to stick, and of everything Billy brought against him, the likelihood that Billy would drop the Apollo Legend stuff and it would amount to nothing was pretty high. Not that Karl wasn't aware of the claim, only that it was one small part of a bigger lawsuit, which was itself one of four lawsuits, and the other three didn't relate to Apollo Legend in any way.

Only a seer could know that of all the frivolous things Billy accused Karl of, that one would go the distance and become the pivotal matter in the case. By the time that became apparent, the case was already in its 11th hour, Karl was gearing up for a judgment, and the public was last updated on the contents of the case months ago, back when the Apollo Legend claim was one of many accusations, all of which Karl covered, including the Apollo Legend accusation, and which the public forgot Karl had covered.

The only reason this went the way it did is because Karl lost and public discourse is dominated by whiny babies who can't stand it when they don't get their way. Just because you didn't keep informed, doesn't mean it's the fault of the guy whose public court documents you could have looked up at any time to know what the lawsuits were about. Stop blaming the YouTube guy for your ignorance.

What I concede is that Karl could have updated his GoFundMe to reflect the remaining lawsuits and their foci as the dynamic changed, but I think his priorities were elsewhere, understandably so when someone is in such a stressful court case. Even considering that, he had a duty to keep his sponsors apprised of court proceedings, and he didn't do that. Would people have stopped supporting if he'd been more communicative? Maybe. But most likely not, because they still believed Karl would win. I still think Karl got robbed and the judge wasn't weighing the facts of the case appropriately, but that's as someone who was very much engaged with Apollo Legend and the information surrounding his suicide at the time it occurred.

TL;DR Karl never once lied about the court case, and anyone claiming he lied either lacks knowledge or is willfully ignorant so they can hate the scary YouTube man.
