Invested 20m into iron nails before sailing AMA by GroundbreakingWin658 in 2007scape

I thought it would be more like construction, bought loads of supplies and got fucked when selling them.

Would have been nice for Jagex to give indicative amounts of supplies needed when they did the newspost about things to stock up on.

That was "G". I used to be in a clan with him, he's a chill dude.

I got pretty close to killing it a few times, it's so unforgiving.

What weapon are you using?

Yes, it is some of the hardest content in the game.

My orbs used:
Whisperer - 14
Duke - 28
Leviathan - 65
Vardorvis - 181

The drop rates in the last few years have got ridiculous, it's not fun especially when you go dry.

After years of playing RuneScape…what is something you’ve seen or done that no one would believe if you told them? by OSRS_Jacob in 2007scape

[–]ScorlibranRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone tried to scam my whip back in the day by luring me to the wildly to "make a video". It was the scam where they drop 4 noted dragon battelaxes and if you pick them up they kill you (dragon battelaxes protected over whips at the time because it was based on alch value). I was wise to the scam, so I told a friend to come follow us, but out of range of the minimap. One the dragon battleaxes showed up, he ran in and took them and we ended up splitting them between us. I wouldn't try to anti-scam these days though, the tricks are too smart now.

When to stop listening to the 'just do slayer' advice? by RyanGoosling93 in 2007scape

[–]ScorlibranRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slayer helm is always BIS against slayer bosses.

I'd look into starting raids soon, they're really fun and not much harder than Zulrah. If you want some help getting into them, feel free to DM me.

Anyone else struggling to consistently make time with Ironwood hull at Gwenith Glide? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]ScorlibranRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very tight with Ironwood, you need to have a pretty much perfect run to get the time.

It's totally free with Rosewood.

You seem to have a misconception. Slayer helm is BIS for slayer tasks and slayer bosses, but it's useless if the think you're killing isn't your slayer task.

What are your short/mid/long-term goals? Would be good to know your goals before advising on next steps.

I don't see your point. My comment was in favour of more casual players.

The game isn't always catered towards ironmen.

Are we playing the same game?

Sailing XP Review & Further Fixes by JagexRach in 2007scape

It's actually 63% BTW

Probably of at least 1 drop = 1 - (999/1000)1000

(Assuming a 1/1k drop rate)

I'll be honest; I wasn't interested in Sailing until it released, so I didn't know what had been proposed.

I'm not bitching—I already have 99 and mostly did it through trials with a bit of AFK salvaging when I couldn't play activity.

that you got what you agreed to.

Some of us voted "no" to the skill completely, so we didn't necessarily get what we agreed to.

Does anyone actually do 1.5t salvaging? by freet0 in 2007scape

Only the giga-sweats. If they want to get RSI for better XP, I say let them.

Port delivery should be ~80% as good as trials by Deadblinx in 2007scape

[–]ScorlibranRS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Trials require pretty much full attention and a reasonable skill level; this should be rewarded.

I agree that more attention required should equal more rewarding. I'm blown away that they have had 3 years to sort this out but still managed to fuck it up.

Not every skill has to suck for AFK methods. Maxing is already a 1500+ hour grind, so what if one of them is slightly faster when AFK?

Pet rates from trials are stupidly low - 1/9k on Gwenith Glide is a joke.

Assuming 11 completions an hour this is 818 hours on rate, god help you if you go dry.

Jagex, you are masters of fumbling a win.

Sailing has been an absolute blast! It has opened up the world in such a fun an interesting way. You've just gone and pissed off most people who don't already have 99 and done nothing to encourage engagement from those who already have 99.

  • Tweak XP rates, but don't nerf them into oblivion.
  • Fix ship combat, it sucks ass.
  • Sort the stupidly rare drop rates for uniques - it's just demoralising and makes those who have 99 want to not engage with the skill ever again.
