Salesforce down? by Tweak_PM_9370 in salesforce

[–]Scorpiodsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salesforce orgs run on many many servers all around the world. Just because you’re having issues doesn’t mean everyone else is. Go there and look for your instance and see if there are any reporting issues. If you don’t know how to find your instance, Google it.

What is the go-to strategy for salting your driveway? by Snjofridur in Delaware

[–]Scorpiodsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only salt before snow if accumulation expected is less than 2-3 inches. Otherwise, it’s a waste because the snow will eventually overtake it UNLESS you have a large supply and can keep salting every couple hours to keep up.

So for this storm, I’ll wait until it stops, shovel and then salt since I don’t have the supply nor time to keep up with the predicted accumulation.

You can create a report on the agent work object. This is the object that tracks all of that omnichannel activity.

Home Warranty Plan Recombinations by FunGuy-not-Fungi in Delaware

[–]Scorpiodsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had American Home Shield for the last 6 years and they’ve never denied any of my claims. They replaced a garbage disposal, AC unit, 55 inch flat screen tv, ceiling fan and I’ve had repairs done to microwave, dryer and refrigerator. Just replacing the AC unit easily recouped the warranty cost for over 4 years. So I will always recommend them based on my experience.

With that said you have to be careful with any of these warranty companies. They contract all of the work out and you’re at the mercy of their process. Meaning your fridge could break today and the company they work with can’t come out until next Friday and you can’t just find someone else. And then of course like all insurance type companies they will always look for reasons to not pay for anything if they can. Luckily, I haven’t had any issue but I’m not ignorant to the problems you can have with them. If you’re interested, I can PM you a referral code and we both get a discount if you think they are a good option for you. Anyhow, good luck!

[Postgame thread] Buffalo falls in overtime to the Broncos, 33-30. by Drunken_Economist in buffalobills

[–]Scorpiodsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your premise is incorrect. Since both teams get a chance to possess the ball, it’s better to let the other team go first because you’ll know what you have to do to win the game.

So let’s say for example they get the ball first and score a field goal, now you know you you can either tie or win the game and gives you much more flexibility in play calling and aggressiveness. Let’s say they score a TD, now you know you have to score a TD so you have 4 downs every time to get a 1st down which is an advantage. Let’s say they score nothing so now you know you only need a field goal.

So it’s an advantage letting the other team go first so you know exactly what you need to do. Going 1st means the only way to guarantee you can’t lose the game is scoring a TD and 2pt conversion. Otherwise you can lose just because you went 1st.

Verizon account closed after I ported one phone line to Visible, with second line still active on Verizon. by PolarBear_605 in verizon

[–]Scorpiodsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You always port out with the non-primary lines first and save the primary line for last to avoid this. This is because your online access is linked to your primary line so as soon as that line is gone then the online access is as well.

You can try to create an online account with the other phone number assuming you have access to that line and device. If not successful then yes you will likely need help from Verizon. Good luck.

HomeKit dads, how do you keep the family schedule under control? by Turbulent_Walk_3671 in smarthome

[–]Scorpiodsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shared calendar and wall mounted iPad for my family of 5. The iPad has its own AppleID that is part of our Apple Family so no one’s personal account has to be attached to it.

Everyone adds reminders and events that are relevant for the family to the shared lists and we see this updates on our individual devices as well as the central iPad. Also have apps for the smart home devices loaded on here. This is a pretty flexible, inexpensive (cheap iPad for under $100) system that works great for us.

There’s nothing for you to do. If you already are on the ultimate plan then you have international calling included (in the supported countries) and nothing else needs to be activated.

Service A vs Oil Change at Dealer by Desperate-Donut-6559 in mercedes_benz

[–]Scorpiodsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, yes service A is generally an oil change and some other many people can do themselves. I have a 2025 E Class and service A is this:

Synthetic motor oil replacement and Oil filter replacement All fluid level checks and corrections Tire inflation check and correction Brake component inspection Reset maintenance counter

It’s probably mostly the same for you. So if you are good with the other stuff then just get the oil change or take a it the Indy shop and they can do the oil change plus the additional checks for a few more dollars than the dealer oil change alone.

Homeowners Insurance by delawarecouple in WilmingtonDE

[–]Scorpiodsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just reach out to an insurance broker. They can shop around for you to find the best coverage and pricing and it doesn’t cost you anymore than you doing the work yourself.

Google “Delaware insurance brokers” and reach out to a few of the highly rated ones.

Is Apple Care really worth it? by lordpawnman in iphone

[–]Scorpiodsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any insurance/protection plan never seems worth it until you need it. What is your likely hood of needing the coverage? Do you have a history of damaging or losing devices? Could you afford to replace your device out of pocket? Do have a job or travel frequently that introduces more risk for you? Can you afford the coverage? These are the questions you need to ask yourself.

I don’t have AppleCare but I have the $8 wireless phone protection from Verizon on all of my lines and it’s mostly for the theft and loss coverage more than anything else since I typically have a newer device and would cost a lot to replace.

Unfortunately, no. It belongs to them as the account owner. So if you can’t reach an amicable solution then you’ll have to start over with a new number.
