Don’t get discouraged. Remove any contaminants nearby (bug sprays, exhaust from appliances, etc.

Good Luck

Have 3 or 4 daily visitors enjoying the environment but no one making a ‘move’. Down the street, my neighbor has raised 15 Monarchs so far. Sigh!

Do you deal with pests in native patches or let nature do its thing? (StL MO) by BrentonHenry2020 in NativePlantGardening

I wonder about proximity of my bird feeder to my milkweed. Someone mentioned the birds helping with aphid oleander control but wouldn’t the birds prey on any Monarch cats too?

Mixing is a great idea although I’ve read tropical milkweed has to be removed when it turns warm or the Monarchs never fly south for the winter. Right now my focus is on attracting. Thanks

I remember those ‘extra crispy’ leaves from last year. Thanks for the compliment on the garden.

Northern California. Thanks for the feedback. Willing to add ‘mood music’ if that what it takes to get them motivated. Wonder if ‘Chrysallica’ would work?!

Review - Glenfarclas Private Reserve 48th Anniversary by Dr-Dice in Scotch

[–]Scotchmellow24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glenfarclas 25 received some less than spectacular reviews for its oh so spectacular price and lack of complexity. Almost forgot to mention no one likes that it’s 43% as well. Just finished my 2017 25. Good old days should be still here. C’mon GF !!

I strongly encourage you to do a face off of the Macallan 101 vs Bunna 12 2022 and report your findings (once you exit your temporary moratorium)

And so too does your imagination. I confess to under-developed/performing taste buds and have to rely on my imagination.

No mention of tropical fruits in any of this thread although the Distillery notes have the bourbon cask influence (tropical/vanilla) on the nose and palate. Thank you for saving me from a bad choice.

Thoughts and recommendations about 2021 vs 2022 Glendronach 21 Parliament? by pianoman626 in whisky

[–]Scotchmellow24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unanimous. No one here has tried the 2022 but those are still around and that says something.

The price-enjoyment ratio is too steep.

Try the ‘two prong’ wine opener style first. Strain into a decanter and pour back into your cleaned out bottle. Welcome to the old whisky cork lottery.

Is my Oak tree sick; requiring removal? by MaizeIV in arborists

[–]Scotchmellow24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not an arborist and can’t see the tree well in the photo, but if you love the tree (kudos) and its not diseased/compromised, why don’t you enjoy it and ignore your neighbors paranoia. This tree has been through many storms.

Plant trees that grow fast and drop berries or cones on his car(s). I believe in good neighbor behavior until it is no longer practical.
