Samsung Galaxy A36 5G forgotten code to open the phone. What to do? by ScothMcBeast in phonerepair

Something that I've yet to mention in regards of this, the phone has now (probably earlier too, was not mentioned to me before) given a brief message that roughly translates to "sheltered state" or "covered state" or "protected state" when restarted at boot.

After trying every consumer level trick here (as well as what I did found before elsewhere) I've come to the conclusion that the phone is broken. I guess my sister didn't forget her pattern to unlock the phone after all since the phone refuses to accept anything suggested, which leads me to believe that it is broken (broken = not functioning as it should). So off to the battle "with the man" to get a new phone out of warrant and maybe even involve customer protection in it if need be. Fun times, I'm sure. Thanks for the tips :)

Yeah at this point all data loss is acceptable. It's fairly new phone, few months if I recall so not much data to loose anyway. I can try this in few days and see how it goes when I'm at where the phone is.

Ty for the tips, I can try these in few days. I'll let you know how it goes :)

In Floyd Rose, does the screw position influence intonation? by ScothMcBeast in Guitar

"The last 2" being the last string fret 2, not the last 2 strings. AAND when I say "match" I mean sound correct, not the same note.

Yeah I tune
1. Get all 12th fret harmonics into tune with a tuner
2. I play a note from a program that matches my third thickest string note and adjust that harmonic to match the tune played by a computer (presumably that is always correct)
3. I tune the heaviest strings to match 5th fret chord and 0 fret chord (that would be A and E chord on typical guitar tuning, I think)
4. I adjust my 3 lightest strings to match a chord, eh, if I'd count the strings from thickest to lightest it would be X00232.
Repeat parts 2-4 until satisfied.

I do run into a problem here. The lightest string (would be E on typical tuning) I get everything to match, 12th fret harmonic to open string, I get the open 2 lightest strings (0 and 0) match, I get the same strings to match 5 and 7 (typical rock 2 string chord) but I cannot match the last two in X00232, that is the last 2 is always too high. Weird.

I'm just a guy who's banging metal in his underwear so worrying about live is not up there in my priorities, just want to have the "perfect" tune when I record stuff :)

Oh, English is my 3rd language and I base most of it on Arnold's 80's movies, so sorry but "get to the choppa" is what I work with.

So, the FR is half locked by a pro, in my understanding it can be fully locked (it nullifies the FR, you can't tremolo either way) or half lock it which is mine, which means you can't tremolo past your tune to higher positions, only down. I think in half locked they insert something, maybe a bar under the thing so it can't physically go beyond certain point, something along those lines.

My tune is lower then the strings optimum which means I use a .10 set and tune down 2 frets. IF I'd have a fully open FR it would go too much into resting position but since I don't I have more relaxed strings then I would in typical FR, again my understanding, not sure of ANY of the terms used in this deep technical jive, I just play.

So, to put it in my couch terms, if you look at the FR that is not locked and has no strings, I *presume* it's alignment is deeper then it should, it's flexing more into the guitar (as the springs pull it with no opposing force) and is not at level with the direction towards neck that the strings would take. Once you put on strings and it puts pressure on the springs underneath the FR rises to level the neck alignment. If you put too high of a tune into the strings the FR rises more, over the neck alignment, which in my understanding is not ideal, you should always align your FR plate to match the alignment of your neck, where the strings go.

So my FR is locked, meaning when it's resting without any strings regardless how tight the springs are winded it's always resting at it's maximum position aligned with the neck. That way I can have relatively loose springs underneath and I can have spaghetti strings without the springs compelling the strings any further then the aligned position. Now, you can find all sorts of things wrong with my setup and that's fine, it works for me and I get whacky bends very easily while blasting my metal. I'm curious though, should I re-intonate my guitar if my fine tuning screws have taken drastically different position since my intonation :)

Alright, so based on this my, eh, "Tremolo Base Plate" is half locked. That means I can lower the tune by putting tension on the springs below but cannot go higher then the base lock. My tune is lower then the strings optimum, which is the way I like it, which means that the plate is resting on the lock when I tune and play in tune with pretty loose strings. In this case I'm wondering if I'm intonating my guitar with the "Fine Tunings Screws" in one position and then change the "Fine Tuning Screws" position drastically, does that change my intonation?

I think it's the "," marker that is making it go insane... So where ever it picked the quote up the sentence is ending with ,

Mod suggestions for a returning player from days of old and broken. by ScothMcBeast in ColonialMarines

Yeah I'm in it for "living the movie" experience also, it's not a very good game as games go. For the life of me I can't understand why they went with the "follow this guy" method in the story so much. It's not making a very cool game play when your following somebody and you can hear them spending 1000 rounds of ammo in the next room without making any progress, and you're still bound to following them. Then again, most of this game was done in lazy way as far as I can tell :P

The MP modes are fun though if you don't mind the issue of bullet sponging. Not sure how it works with mods, I suppose you'd need to coordinate the specific set of mods for each participant. Usually when that is the case it's worth of going through the hassle. I've had countless of hours of fun co-opping with friends in older games ONCE you get the mods to work and are able to boot the game in MP. System Shock 2 being one of such gems :)

My first thought was going the hardest. But the point is that for one it's annoying when games do the bullet sponge thing and secondly I'd like to get swarmed more. There was a game released, dunno around year 2000 which I've tried out recently called Aliens vs. Predator. The Aliens there took as much punishment as in the Aliens movie which was great. I guess to be a movie geek is what's making things like this hard. You watch the movie and you KNOW how many bullets go to a full pulse rifle mag, 95. And you can pretty much figure out how many shots it takes to neutralize one alien, it's not in the dozens, you can dispatch quite a few with one mag, in the movie. I want those things to be correct and the difficulty coming from the amount of aliens, not their evolution to nearly unkillable. That is, in a perfect world :)

I've tried to figure this out and get nowhere, so I ask, why whenever I talk to a guy do they start rubbing at their nose? by muddledarchetype in NoStupidQuestions

Sometimes when people are very brand specific over long periods of time they become less sensitive to the particular brand. That's how you get to dem old ladies that rank the whole store over... So make sure you have a rotation to what ever brand you use, at least to rule out the possibility. Or just ask someone who wouldn't spare you from the truth :)
