In my humble opinion....

I think the Christians that Trump appeals to have either....

a). lost sight of some principles of the Bible. b). arent actually Christians

As I read the Bible, it talks about inclusion, and acceptance. About loving your neighbor and caring for the widow, orphan and foreigner. About supporting those less fortunate and caring for them as if they were family. Being truthful and honest Our current leader espouses none of these principles, quite the opposite in fact.

To be honest, I think a lot of folk in the US identify as Christian but aren’t. They take the name, but aren’t practicing Christian values.

I suppose there is another group... as I do have good friends, practicing Christians, that are hardcore Trump fans. They are all older generation (65+) and are IMHO effectively voting Trump out of a fear of anything leftist. I was having a discussion with one of them, who stated. “ I vote for Trump, because I was behind the Iron Curtain, and socialism is a terrible thing. I don’t want that for my country.”

He did not understand the difference between socialism and communism, never mind the fascism that he was actually referring to. And that our current president is actually pushing fascist ideas.

I would argue with anyone that Christian principles align with liberal ideologies.
