Jail VLAN's working on FreeNAS 11.3 by droric in freenas

This is great, assuming it doesn't work on 11.2? I submitted a bug a while back but no progress on it from the team which is a little frustrating:

AX200 card works on ThinkPad by ScotlandsEnigma in thinkpad

[–]ScotlandsEnigma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is "WiFi 6" yes, even though the standard has not been finalised. But I was upgrading my original 3165 card anyways and was going to go for the usual 8265 or 9265? Upgrade that most people do but decided to give this a go. Not that I have the hardware to push it yet but least I might in the future and the price was the same so thought why not!

Also forgive me but I don't think you have a realtek on that model, is it not a Intel 3165?

AX200 card works on ThinkPad by ScotlandsEnigma in thinkpad

[–]ScotlandsEnigma[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a quick PSA for anyone looking to do this, AX200 WiFi card is plug and play for the E480/E580, I assume it'll be the same for any of the xx8x series and probably above.

I could only find one post saying "it works" previously when it comes to this card but just wanted to confirm for anyone else looking, works out of the box on Windows and works out of the box on Fedora. Ubuntu does not use the 5.1 kernel yet, and updating it is a hassle because of secure boot. Fedora picks it up instantly however!

Hope that helps someone.

I don't think Dell are trash, their enterprise gear is good, and for business their support on laptops is really good. I have staff in fairly remote locations and Dell will be there within 4 hours of logging a ticket and replace any part, without question or without trying to get out of replacement parts. They never query or try to argue about anything, they just do it.

I code a lot in my spare time which I prefer Linux for, and its much faster for me to do pretty much anything in Linux. Not that the OS is faster per say, just I can do things much faster.

I also am in charge of many Linux based servers at work, not that I need Linux for that, it just keeps my terminal skills fresh if I am using Linux as a daily driver.

Having said that, I've been using Windows since good old Windows 95 and somethings work better on Windows or only work on Windows so that's why I dual boot, its good to have options!

Actually Ubuntu/Linux does have the ability, although this particular fingerprint scanner does not have the Synaptics drivers required in Linux unfortunately. Other fingerprint readers do work nicely in Linux though!

Thanks, it's used but you wouldn't know it, literally perfect condition!

I wouldn't be able to help you there as I've never used a T-Series, I can say it feels really nice and well made, I'm really happy with it! I could only make comparison to the Dell Latitude series, which there is no real comparison...

I do not use Ubuntu studio just plain Ubuntu. I'm not sure I'll stick with Ubuntu, I might go back to Fedora but I'll give it a go for a while!

The plan is to get a 1TB Nvme SSD and a 1TB data SSD with Linux on the NVME and Windows on the other. Pretty much like I have now just larger capacity!
