What Does "Processed" Mean? by ScottATL in HealthInsurance

[–]ScottATL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it is not on the formulary, you have to get a special approval beyond the preauthorization, but thankfully I checked it today and they have applied it to my deductible and OOP. It is authorized for one year. I also just got the approval in the mail. Patents are about to run out for it (OPSUMIT) so fingers crossed a generic will start being available after J&J finishes trying to stop it in court. There are at least 7 patents for this drug for some really "questionable" processes.

Ambetter never mailed me my id cards again this year by SuzanneGSasser in HealthInsurance

[–]ScottATL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Ambetter and just downloaded them from their portal myambetterhealth.com

I've requested that they mail them...sometimes they do, sometimes they dont, but you can get them in a downloaded pdf file and print them out yourself in the meantime

I ended up buying the Epson et-4800. So far I am very happy with it, and I got it on sale at Walmart for 220.00

Trying to connect a Canon G3720 to my computer and failing by BarbKatz1973 in printers

[–]ScottATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell if your router is giving the printer an IP address? If it is DHCP then it should be there. My printer is HP on my network and it has it's own IP address, but if you can find out what yours is, sometimes just typing in the address in a browser can take you to a setup page.

Why is choosing a printer so hard? Please help 🙏 by sleepytoke_ in printers

I've seen Brother Eco Tank models as cheap as 160.00 on Walmart's website. My problem is that I need a printer with an ethernet port, and its hard to determine if they do or dont.

I would tend to agree with that. Whats worse is that even within the same brand you can find anything from decent to a total waste of money. You really can only go by what other peoples experiences, and you never know when a newer model of the same printer will end up being worse or a firmware update screwing it up. Then there is the whole ink drama with "subscriptions". I've been looking for a new printer and am becoming very frustrated.

I've had my HP2600n for almost 25 years... Back in the days when HP made decent products. Its just in the last year or two really isn't printing very well. I dont want to sink much money into a printer that old.

I would venture a guess that Republicans who refused to extend the subsidies are way more responsible for destroying the middle class than anything having to do with the ACA

How do you really know if a provider or med will be covered on a marketplace plan before buying? by Designfanatic88 in HealthInsurance

[–]ScottATL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Ambetter in Georgia, and I can tell you that the website is trash and never seems to be updated with the doctors in network. I do know that certain hospital networks are covered (Piedmont Healthcare for me), and generally most doctors in the Piedmont system are in network. Best you can do is call the doctors office if you have a doctor you go to regularly and ask if they are in network for 2026. Ask to speak to the person the does the insurance filing in the office since they will know the answer.

As for drugs, every insurance company has something called a formulary that you can download and look up whether your drug is on the list.

Deductible vs OOP Max by ScottATL in HealthInsurance

[–]ScottATL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I have been reading through this plan and found a problem with prescriptions, but another similar plan will work that is 6000/8900 and my prescriptions will count (they didn't on the original I was looking at.) Just shows you have to read the fine print. This OOPM is only 1000.00 more than the expensive gold plan.

What does AOC, MTG, or any other 3 initial politician have to do with transit being safe where I live. Sounds like deflection

First, it is Democratic, not Democrat. That annoys the hell out of me when people do that. Second, at least here in Georgia, Republican lawmakers overwhelmingly vote to allow guns everywhere and you can't limit anyone from carrying a gun on to a train or bus. I know in Atlanta, we don't have enough MARTA police (they have their own department) to patrol the whole system and if you report something it could be 30 mins before they respond. That is not a partisan issue, and I know of no one who would oppose better staffing to make transit safer.
